  1. Actually the best Thai beer so far, dry compared to the overly sweet rest, with a slightly lasting aftertaste.

Way better than Chang or Leo or Singha, at least a slightly better alternative now at a reasonable price.

  2. We love Maggie, he's such a great character, he loves people around him that play with him and talk to him, yet unfortunately our son's so busy at school and we with our jobs.

Would be wonderful to find a family with young kids for Maggie.

Most of the time when we're around the door to his cage is just open. He likes to fly around in the house a bit, but he's completely happy sitting on his cage and observe what's going on.

Maggie is a 4-year-old Indian Ringneck Parrot with very special coloring, we have him since early age when feeding him with a syringe.

He talks his own gibberish and sings once in a while. We could clip his wings if you're afraid that he flies away.

He's completely friendly to people and likes to be touched.

Let know if you have any questions or would like to pay Maggie a visit! We're in the Prakanong area.

  3. Again, thanks everyone for the valuable information in here. Personally I'd like to do the India trip, but guess for the familiy it will either be Australia or, well, Germany!

Those familiar with Australia, what route would you recomment for, say, three weeks with a rental car, sleeping Airbnb- or B&B-style.

    Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide?

We really love nice food and nature!!

And July being winter/low season, can one just drive and book places on the spot? Are A$100 a night reasonable for three (two adults and 16-year-old boy)?

With Europe and Germany I'm familiar, Australia's still a black hole!

  4. Just throwing some stuff out. What about South Korea? We loved it there. Bali? Some great places to check out, including nearby islands...some with dragons! LOL

I did a 30 day trip in India with a car and driver. It was fantastic. Wonderful old palaces. Camping in the desert with camels. Fun.

India, Craig, India... Lived there some time and loved it, dunno how the family would...

What places did you visit? Didn't feel bothered too much? What about the compulsory train rides!

How much was the 30-day trip? In Indie one could afford nice hotels me guesses.

    Could you recommend an agent?

  5. This is one beautiful list of suggestions, thank you very much all!

Many of the tours we've done already, NZ, Italy, Switzerland, France, but Germany with Berlin could be interesting, I heard prices are fair, or why not England or Scotland!

I guess during the summer break the islanders all head south, so it's not too crowded?

I'm a continental European, my wife's Thai, son is 16.

Again, really appreciate all the feedback!

I thought asking in here after checking campervan prices in Australia. Gosh!

  6. We're looking forward to spend some quality family time this July/August break, but guess what, should we go to Australia? India? Where else?

Or even Europe? Europe during summer when everyone's traveling is a bit crowded...

The budget, not including flights, is about $5-6k.

We like nature, a bit of culture, walks, good food.

Not the U.S., done that last time and it was gorgeous.

Appreciate your inputs what you'd do, thanks in advance!

  7. Don't get me wrong, I love animals and enjoy them myself, but not so the dogs passing in front of our house day in, day out, doing nature's necessity right in front of our door.

Somehow they love to do that.

A "human" way to make them do it somewhere else is an ultrasonic high frequency deterrent, yet haven't found any in Bangkok.

Anyone knows where to find such a device?

    Appreciate!
