I had one lady crack my neck by cranking it to the sides and it scared the .... out of me. Felt like my neck was broken, but strangely enough it did feel kinda nice.

i had a neck lock-up, i couldnt turn my head in any direction

and had to go to cambodia on a visa run yet again,

a 10 yo girl came and wanted to sell the usual trash on the beach,

then to get me in a better mood she took my head and quickly snapped it upwards in a twisting motion,

my spine unlocked at every section from solar plexus until my skull,

i was cured ! i asked what she wanted me to buy ?

The Owl tattoos make my head shake the most. I don't mind banging the girls. I just don't think they realize how stupid they look, even now, and how they will be affected in the future. Nothing screams bar-girl like tattoos. I had a friend (male) who got heavily into tattoos decades ago before they were really mainstream in North America. He said they were addictive. He was always looking for the next one to get. He started when he was about 22 years of age. When he turned 40 he hated them all and was in the process of getting them removed. I think the vast majority of these girls will deeply regret most of their tattoos in 10-15 years. The mistake of youth.

i think you are right, i followed a couple of friends to a tattoo shop,

they wanted to add to the clutter, i said i'll get one too if i find a good motive, one of them responded: no for <removed> sake dont start with this shit

Try getting a visa to retire (or even a tourist visa) in my country, Australia by a Thai national, and I imagine that there are many countries that impose far harsher and more restrictive immigration practices than Thailand.

the difference is that in your country, the government and more importantly the tax payers, will pay all the bills and on top of that give social security to the thai national, should the need ever arise,

and it just so happens that the need almost invariably arise.

for us here, the thai government wont ever hand out squat,

but are on the contrary squealing if we die without having paid

    hospital & cremation fee first

  4. first year in thailand, i was so happy to see the sun

so i spent all time outdoors, that means no fan and no ac,

and i had no issues at all, i remember a western woman

had to touch my skin to make sure she wasnt hallucinating cause i didnt sweat, at all.

later on i bought a computer and began to spend my life with it,

and now i cant make it 5 minutes even without a fan,

you just adapt to whatever you do, spend a few weeks outdoors and

it wont even come to your mind you would want an ac

You see, for all those fluent in Thai but who cannot read or write, I admire you for your memory. I have always needed to take notes, at the beginning I used the alphabet but soon abandoned it for Thai characters. For those who want to learn Thai, the simple way is to learn to write Thai.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

for me i need to take a picture with my eyes to memorize it,

so english letters do just fine for as long as i wrote them myself to get the sound right as i see it.

even when i could write i would still rely on my transliteration

i wish to warn everyone about not converse for a while,

i went out of thailand for 3 years and didnt chat with anyone in thai,

(or otherwise), and now i just cant talk or understand thai any longer,

my maid think i speak thai so she come and complain about her hardship/gossip/others and i havnt got a clue,

i'm limited to order food these days and even then i cant remember most dishes

same thing happened with german before that,

    use it or lose it

I'm so tired of these posts that boil down to 'I'm contributing more into the Thai economy than you, because I'm married and have children....

The simple fact that un-married, retired folk need to have 65,000 bht p.m. (up until now...) or 800k in the bank - rather disproves your point....

I'm in a bad mood, but even so would prefer not to go down the 'I put more into the Thai economy than you' argument.....

if its any consolation, i'm with you on this one,

only case it may no longer true is if the 400k guy have to spend 10 times more on visa than the 800k guy, if the 800k guy wishes to live as frugal as the 400k guy have to

I find the clutch quite stiff... in traffic my hand starts to ache...

    - Is there any simple way of lessening the clutch tension without messing with the clutch itself?

The biting point is also about 75-80% 'let out' which is fine for riding open roads and making convenient changes, but again, in traffic becomes tiresome.

    - Is there any way to simply adjust the biting point? Adjustable levers perhaps?

in my experience, you get what you pay for,

i tried one of those 200cc phantom a friend had,

and i was so upset about the gear i had to continually jump on

until i finally got it to snap down a gear,

this in stark contrast to my good ole chopper where i used one of my toes to flip gear as i wanted with minimal effort

    Talking of 'hansum man' attire....

What do you guys wear when out and about on your bikes?

In the City - on my scooter...

    - Shoei Neotec full face (Flip face) Helmet,

    - Mesh Amoured Jacket

    - Protective Gloves

    - Trainers (never flip flops)

On the 'next bike' - I'd perhaps also wear some Bike Trousers when traveling out of the city and some Ride Boots.

Heat is the obvious issue - especially in the city.

i use the smallest helmet i can find, like half an egg shell,

used to use flip flops, shorts & t-shirt since i couldnt for the life of me find shoes large enough in this damned country,

but now with internet orders i dress smart and ditched those cursed flip flops

  9. best of luck, and i'm not being sarcastic, i mean it.

i think the biggest issue for samet in particular

is more to do with what the waves brings in,

and the biggest issue for thailand as a whole is

the food culture here that revolves around

almost everyone buying food & drinks in plastic bags,

i dont see how that is going away until someone invent a waterproof bag that decompose fully.

for sure what local leaders can do to help out the issue in the short term is to massively increase

trash cans, just have them every 10 meters

and none will be too lazy not to throw it in the trash can, but of course, those trash cans need to be emptied regularly, not allowed to flow over as is now the usual case

nope. you cannot make a statement of fact if it cannot be proved. its only an opinion

the burden of proof is on you to provide anything of substance

that your argument has any substance,

until then its just another delusional irrational gibberish,

which works well for religious arguments / superstition  but

does not fit in the modern world of critical thinking
