Things must have changed. We took a cat and 2 toy poodles back 5 years ago and slid them under the seat in front of us. No charge. Did tranq the cat however.

    on an airplane ?

i am a level 5 allergic to cats & dogs,

    the highest ranking achievable/

yep, them cats loves me to death,

i dont know why but they always comes to me

    arent you an immigrant?

no, the difference is that an immigrant is a leach

that doesn't contribute a single baht and never will,

the immigrant gets paid by the host country

and that was the entire rationale for coming in the first instance.

this is in stark contrast to expats that always pay their way

With sufficient skills, most things can be changed and edited. Do you think an officer at the Immigration office will know all the countless different income forms from many different countries in many different languages?

agree on this part, IO wouldn't have a clue

what they are looking at, but my embassy know

the pension paper from insurance company in sleep

better than I do when I stare at it

Try explaining to any boss that you sleep for one hour every night and that is why you cannot be there in the morning and that you are in severe pain on opiates and that is why you cannot focus and that you need to use the toilet literally every 15 minutes.  I am tired of the BS i get from people, their hatred for the disabled.  Seriously dude, I do not want to be disabled, it is not nice.  If you hate us so much maybe you should get into Aktion T4 or something.  I'm done.  Go to hell.

aint that the truth, but i also want to caution

on this dilemma: i fled to cambodia cause

the visa runs to laos was too painful,

but in cambodia i found hell itself, i have never been in

such an unbearable pain 24/7, i had more pain there

than in thailand + sweden combined, and i can not recover,

so be aware life in thailand can add pain to your life

    like you never thought possible

The problem with your theory is that it's not only about pensions. Many have investment income and other sources of income besides pensions. The minimum age to get a retirement extension is 50. How many 50 - 60 years olds collect pensions?

... and I'll put money down that people from countries that have to jump through hoops to prove income to their embassies are the ones getting most upset about the others that use stat decs.

i socialized almost exclusively with yanks for 10+ years,

those with pensions did generally not have any additional

income, altho one of them did, a gogo bar in US mind you ?

anyway, almost all of them lied to their embassy on the affidavit,

mostly because it was needed, the vast majority could not meet

requirement. one of them because a mix of convenience

and principals, he wouldnt be arsed with the pension

+ bank combo, and now that i think of it,

many of my american friends were early army veterans retired,

that is to say, they had made it to 50 but not 65,

    and taken the army pension

I am not defending only those from my home country. There are many other countries whose embassies do not require proof to get their income document so I am defending them as well.

I think calling many people liars and cheaters a rude and improper generalization.

Alos some embassies that do ask for proof are not all that strict on the proof of income required to get the income document. Many accept copies that could easily be doctored. Even documents that appear to be original can be created in this day and age.

maybe by a counterfeit specialist, like 1 in 1000,

but i wouldnt be able to trick my embassy with false

material, they see it every week of their lives,

they know better than i do how it should look like,

i have also never requested a proof of

income that didnt come with a stamp.

It's a bit of stretch to accuse "very many of those who lies", just out of the blue, without any evidence. I'm guessing that your embassy doesn't allow the stat dec for income verification purposes and you're envious of others who have it easier. Why else would you keep harping on it? I'd be pretty sure that the majority of Americans and Australians (and other countries that do it) who get annual stat decs have more than 65k a month coming in.

I wish I could live on 65k a month, but it's impossible for me. My rent, electricity, internet, and water are already 40k a month.

based on what exactly ? wishful thinking ?

facts are the average american pension is less

that the required income, around 1400 bucks a year,

which is closer to half the required 65k baht a month.

in all likelihood it is also so that the poorest americans

    are over represented here,

meaning the majority got less than

    1400 bucks to live on.

one exception aside, those i knew of

    living here on retirement extension

had 500 to 1200 bucks to feed on

Why is it that so my expats point to "scheming wives"?  If someone is stupid enough to marry someone without knowing the person or eyes wide open then it is really the "scheming" wife  to be blamed?  Bad wives and and bad husbands in every country; seems expats are quick to blame their bad luck on others when they have only themselves to blame.  (Sorry, bit of a soapbox I know.  Just find the blame game all too easy here.)

Funny enough, we (Thai wife and 2 wonderful kids) are moving to Texas this year as well.

    i will give this example:

a would be neighbor and retired norwegian doctor

on his last legs kept coming to me wanting to

borrow a few baht for some rice.

i kept meeting him so soon enough the image

    became clear:

his wife had his visa card and would not

argue about who should have the visa card,

she threatened divorce if he took it back.

my answer was that would be the best thing that could ever happen,

he could easily afford 2 young chicks and on top of that save money

that was now wasted on his aggressive old and fugly wife.

his response was that he didnt want to get through it,

later on i suspect he felt too old to combat his wife

  9. i started driving moped at the age of 10,

but you also have never seen me bash thais for

    doing the same thing,

and yes, in hindsight i remember one incident

in particular that was lethally dangerous,

-was driving on the wrong side of the road

and he helmet went down over my eyes

so i could see about 10 meters ahead of me as i was speeding

to the best of my ability.

generally i feel the same way, fed up

about the endless general thai bashing here on thaivisa forum.

thankfully this is also the only place on earth that i know of where thai bashing just goes on and on like some sort of hickup

There you go.  That's the common thread.  It's simply another device to discourage newbies from do-it-yourself visa conversion attempts.  Ever wonder why the visa agents charge fees that are at least 10,000 baht more than what they charge for regular 12-month visa extension services?

that is a very plausible explanation,

but what can an applicant do if the immigration officer decides

to not accept any documents, and/or just keep on demanding

more proof until the current visa expires ?

I think the Notary can refuse to notarize the affidavit if the Notary has reason to doubt the truth of the statement.

This is from the Notary Public Code of Professional Responsibility::

    Capture.JPG

might not apply to affidavits: as published a few pages ago,

one scout signed he made 22.000 dollar a day, or was it month ?

the embassy couldnt care less, they signed.

as has also been documented, US embassy has zero ability

or responsibility to check claims, alas they just sign
