Would be nice if they actually cited what these external factors are that affect Thailand more than their regional counterparts.

I agree. A friend recommended that I try ear candles, swore by their effectiveness, so I gave them a go. I was amazed at how much brown wax was in the bottom of the candle when I tried them. In fact, I was so amazed that I found it hard to believe, particularly as my hearing didn't seem to have improved, so I tried lighting another candle only this time I didn't actually put it in my ear. Once the candle had burnt out, there was the same amount of "ear wax" produced, despite having been nowhere near my ear.

You'll need to do a better job of explaining that... as its my understanding that after 3 years residence in the UK, a UK student is eligible for UK Uni rates.
Taken from here :-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_student_(United_Kingdom)
About 12 years ago, my daughter, despite being a British citizen, was denied home student status when she applied for university, even though she spent three years at boarding school in the UK.

No experience of....
But I'm also considering doing something similar..... part of the reason is UK Uni fees... they need to be domiciled in the UK for 3 years to be eligible for UK Uni fees... and the 3 years is awkward as it doesn't fit the two year A-Levels interval.
i.e. Fees to be a medical student are about £45,000 per year for overseas students / for a UK student its about £9,250
So.. we are considering moving our Son at the Start of GCSE's to a private school... then moving on to A-Levels there.
(The cost of a decent private school in the UK is similar to International School here).
Its a difficult balancing act to play out.
The only input I have for your specific case if to ensure they are doing British Curriculum rather than IB if you are planning a move... as schools which do IB in the UK are quite limited.
I don't think it's as simple as being in the UK for 3 years in order to qualify for UK student fees.
"The main purpose for the three years' residence in the UK and Islands must not have been to receive full-time education during any part of it, unless the student is a European Union citizen (but not a British citizen) and immediately prior to the three-year period was ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or qualifying overseas territories (see below)."

I'm trying to figure out how a bullet comes through the ceiling, so is presumably on a downward trajectory, but hits him under the chin and lodges in the back of his head when he's lying own on a bed?

They wasted no time on that one.
"had previously planned to file charges of illegal detention, murder and negligence on Monday, but they decided to postpone the filing until the end of April because some of their witnesses are not either ready or remain in Malaysia. "
So some are still not quite ready after 20 years.

Try this, I watched it without having to sign in :-
Sorry, Ukrules, Spermwhale, Bangkok Barry et al but for once, The Thaiger got it right. The people confronting him are wearing URBAR t-shirts which is on Khao San road and if you look around the 44 second mark you can see a sign with Thai writing on it.

In which case you should know, given your so called journalistic reporting expertise(?), that you should be as accurate and descriptive as possible which results in leaving little for your readers to question or investigate!
PS; You have still not explained, in your so called professional journalistic style, who or what this author is!
As stated above it is not for me or other readers to search out the meanings of obscure posts but for the author to either be clear in the first instance or to clarify when asked.
You have done neither!
Here, I'll help you, as you're obviously incapable of clicking the link and reading it for yourself :-

Keng denied the accusation and claimed that all of the illegal products were used as teaching materials.
