Where have you been....half the country was discussing it and the red shirts/Thaksin party was strongly opposing it and told everyone to vote no......that why the results weren't that great

    Can you read?

"Right after seizing power, the generals announced their intention to restructure the country, in such a way, they said, that they would never have to mount another coup."

"This time they made sure their amended draft would pass, by imposing a strict ban on any campaigning, so the public understood very little about it, and by warning that the only alternative was extended military rule."

Two quotes taken from a BBC article, written in April 2017.

As to where have I been, I've been right here in Thailand and was living here before the coup.

Lucky it was just heroin and not holding media shares.

Plus he was also acquitted of a murder charge that allegedly took place in his own office.

On a side note, I sometimes wonder, if an alleged killer didn't do it, how could he reenact the murder? Does a policeman tell him what to do? This is practically an admission of guilt. Doesn't the court provide a lawyer?

I've seen re-enactments on Thai television news where the police are quite clearly telling the alleged perpetrator where to stand and how to act.

I'm sorry, Speaker role...? Can someone explain why the Speaker is so important?

The speaker gets to decide what gets debated, when it gets debated and who gets to speak during the debates so in effect, if he doesn't like something, then theoretically he could just keep postponing that particular debate.

At least that's my simplistic understanding of it.

That's like saying your left hand is closer to your right hand than to, say your foot. The comparison is nonsensible.

Looking at the last ten years for what has the PTP accomplished in terms of strengthening democracy in Thailand? Two elections reflect little to nothing.

At best I view PTP as a conservative right-wing capitalistic party versus MFP as a progressive left-wing proletarian party.

"Looking at the last ten years for what has the PTP accomplished in terms of strengthening democracy in Thailand?"

The PTP weren't running the country for the last ten years, the military has been running it since 2014.

I thought some women here made such vehicles in Thailand but the army didnt want them, i guess for the same reason.

Easier to buy abroad and get a kickback in an offshore overseas account.

"These are to be manufactured by Chaiseri Metal & Rubber Co"

The above is a Thai company, run by a woman who is referred to as "Madame Tank".

A Humvee would set you back less than a quarter of the cost.

you really think that's what is going on here, holding up photos of her performing, i would say she was shamed into resigning by a few jealous old ###, what she does in her own time is her business, if it affected her performance as a teacher then sack her for that

Did you even bother to read the article?

She wasn't a teacher, she was working in admin and they clearly stated that her job performance was affected.

"work performance was affected as she frequently took sick leave due to migraines, possibly resulting from insufficient rest. The college had previously warned and advised her about the declining work performance. "

Thitaporn Khamchai, a company worker who has been living with her girlfriend for four years, is eagerly anticipating the opportunities it will bring.

“The promised marriage-equality law has given me hope that I will be able to plan my future with my other half and hand her the legal right to make decisions on my health and assets if I am not in a position to do so myself,” said the 31-year-old as she shared her feelings with Thai PBS World.

Wow, as long as four years?

I've been legally married in Thailand for 37 years and I'm still waiting for equality.
