  1. I hope that you're not kidding asking such a question. facepalm.gif

P.1's are usually very poor in English. Think about easy conversational stuff. Start with the ABC song as a warm-up. Please see:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75p-N9YKqNo

First check if the kids really understand you, then you can decide what you're teaching them. Have a few back-ups, just in case.....

Greetings- hello, hi, good morning- good afternoon- good evening, etc...then questions like "how are you?" with hopefully not the answer: "I'm fine thank you and you?" ( as they usually not know what they say)

Please check: busy teacher and boggles world.

I hope that you do know the difference between a lesson plan and a worksheet. Good luck.-facepalm.gif

I am not kidding with this question. i already know these students and they are fairly advanced for K3 and P1. Yes, I know the difference between a lesson plan and a worksheet, I will incorporate a worksheet into the lesson.

I appreciate the greetings suggestion, I actually did greetings with the students I had yesterday, and agree that they don't realize that there is more then one way to say hello, other then "I'm fine thank you, and you?"

I did check busy teacher - I haven't found many ideas on the internet that focus mostly on conversation with one on one lessons.

You can easily sign up for free at busy teacher and then download all their worksheets. If you download a file in PDF format, just use a program that converts PDF into MS office word, change it the way you want and you're good to go.

You could also cover body parts and colors at the same time. Please see attached example. Just focusing on conversational English could be pretty much boring for the kids. Try to find the right balance.

You can use this worksheet and continue with numbers, how many fingers, toes, etc...once they're more advanced add the Five Senses...Cheers.-facepalm.gif

  3. OK, so I am on a one year extension of stay. If I marry a foreign girl, does that also put her on a one year extension of stay?

Yes, the requirement is that she originally entered on a non-immigrant visa.

If you have a wife she can piggy back on your extension of stay as a dependant, as Paz says she has to enter on a non-o visa and then you can go to immigration with the proper paper work and apply

  5. I think they want the photo page and the most recent and current stamp pages on lt -- not historic ones

I was told every page, and I remember that they took copies of every page last year. I'd rather spend the 1 baht per copy and be prepared, then to not spend it and then end up needing it.

And what dates would be considered current, and what dates would be considered historic?

  6. This is what I needed last year at Chaengwattana. Have there been any chances?

Passport (signed copies of each page)

Departure Card TM (and copy of it)

Thai Bank Book showing at least 800,000 baht (and copy of it)

Deposit 100 baht more into bank before going to immigration

Letter from Bank (Letter has to match the amount in the bank, including the 100 baht deposit)

    Three(1) 4×5 cm photos

    Copy of proof of address

    Completed application TM-7

One thing that doesn't make sense to me, I was told that at Chaengwattana, the letter from the bank has to be written on the same day of going to immigration, but two K Banks told me that it takes 1 to 2 days to write the letter. How can a person have the letter written on the same day, if it takes 1 to 2 days to have it written?

I made the 100 baht deposit on Monday, and the bank had the letter ready for me today (Tuesday).

Will this be a problem that I made the deposit and the letter was written 4 days in advance?

Last year, there was a K Bank in the Chaengwattana building that wrote the letter for me on the same day, so I hope they will do that again in case there is a problem with the letter that I have now.

  7. I recently heard that ED Visas have much stricter rules now, and can only last for a very short time, about 8 to 10 months.

For guys that have had Filipina girls here on ED visas, what is the way to do have a foreign girl stay here long term now?

(No degree, so she can't get a work permit)

There is no "way". She can continue being on ED extension of stay.

What are the rules now for back to back visa runs?

There are no changes. Repeated visa exempt entries is not allowed.

OK, so I am on a one year extension of stay. If I marry a foreign girl, does that also put her on a one year extension of stay?

I'm on a retirement visa - not that I am in any rush to get married, but if you are on a retirement visa, and marry a foreign girl, does she also receive a one year visa?

An one year extension of stay, not a visa.

  9. You didn't say if you had a car or motorcycle license, so:

If you've been riding in the USA you will just need to hone your skills and keep a sharp lookout in all directions...

on the other hand if you are a car driver with nil riding experience I have to ask  "Are you stupid?"  It's a crazy place to learn how to ride!

But you can, if necessary, attend a riding school to get up to speed.  Honda has one and it's well known.

Get some basic skills and then get your license.

I didn't even know that there was a difference between a U.S. license for driving a car or a motorcycle, and no, I don't have a motorcycle license. I want a motorbike (not a motorcycle), because it would be more convenient then the BTS, buses, taxis, and driving on the back of motorbike taxi - but I definitely realize that one of the cons of driving a motorbike in BKK, is how dangerous it is.

  10. Not only could blocking facebook possibly hurt those who use it for business:

For me, it's a great way to keep in touch with and communicate with so many of my friends and family back home, which is especially important now that I am in a different country and cannot see them in person.

Messaging, sharing pictures, with all your friends and family all at once, is much easier to do with facebook then with regular email.

Not that I don't have my criticisms of facebook, I do, there are things that I don't like about it - but it's better then not having it at all.

  11. Make your cell phone a hot-spot - if you have a 3G plan.

No apps needed, a built in feature.

With a wi-fi plan it is tethering - most often a buit in feature too.

    What is your phone model?

My cell phone is an i-mobile 5.6

I have a mobile 3G plan with dtak. I was able to connect with the wi-fi hotspot tethering.

Thank you tv members, for your help :)

  12. I feel like the posters that are saying if you can't go a day without drinking you have a problem, are missing the points being made by many of the posters here. My point is not that I have to go out and drink everyday, my point is that this law is not good for tourism - for example, there may be a day when the drinking ban is in place, when a friend or family is here from out of the country on vacation, and you want to take them out for drinks and dinner, this law makes it difficult to do that. That's what happened to me last weekend, I didn't realize the ban was was in place, and we ended up stuck in a restaurant not selling beer because the waiter misunderstood us when we ordered beer before ordering food, and didn't tell us they weren't selling until they brought the food out. Now I have learned, if I want to go out for food and drinks, check to see if there is a drinking ban on that day in advance, and find a place that will still sell it.
