The date of that ad clearly shows the 300 baht offer expired on the 15th of this month.
So neither are available.
มีนาคม = March
And as you pointed out, Fixxy IS still available, although for 50 Baht more than before.

Can foreigners sign up with GOMO?
Can you link to the AIS flat rate for 299?
Looks like Gomo is not available for foreigners yet.
The AIS flat rate is called Fixxy. Despite the date in the ad, it's still available if you ask at AIS shop. I just signed up for it last month. -
I have no idea how people can possibly waste money on mobile data anymore nowadays! Gomo offers 50 GB for 299 Baht and AIS has a flat rate of 10 MBit/s for the same amount. I'm sure other providers have the same kind of offers. Time to change your promotion!

Normal customs charge 30% of invoice. I doubt you paid 10%, especially using Fedex. EMS, the same. Airmail, nada. Go figure, I can't. Don't want to even consider paying 30% or more on anything.
I've used FedEx often in the past to import crypto miners from China. Always had a good experience and ended up with 10% import duty.

It was 240 million, not billion. Should be corrected.

You seem to enjoy a simplistic world view, don't you?

I have tired 3 devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) and 3 different browsers (Chrome, FireFox, Safari) and I can't get the website to load! I used this link:
https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.doSame here, site is down when trying to access through AIS Fibre. But I can access it from my phone (TrueMove) without problems.
Usually I have no problems with it and do my reporting online since years.

Very interesting. Are they verifying in any way if you're really staying home? Any phone calls or other checks since you arrived?

I can't take it more than a few hours and I will find something to make her laugh to break the silence. It mostly works.

Health has many aspects: what use is it to be physically healthy but financially dead, and mentally on the edge for not being able to make ends meet and provide for your loved ones? That's the situation millions of people are facing here. I can fully understand people that are ready to defy the orders if they are not able to make an honest living anymore for god knows how long. It's easy for well-off people to call them names from the comfort of their homes. The problem is that the people deciding on and supporting ever tougher measures are not the ones adversely affected by them.
Given the current figures, the government needs to quickly propose a reasonable roadmap out of this lockdown to allow the economy to start recovering and provide people with the means to earn money, not make them depend on the government's 5,000 Baht handout lottery! As much as I despise Trump, in this point I actually agree with his push to reopen for business. And Thailand is in a way better condition than the US.
Some people will surely die. Making millions suffer badly is not an acceptable trade-off to avoid it. If people want to be safe, they can just stay the <deleted> home and take any precautions they deem appropriate.

Suan Luang (Rama 9) Park is still open, only the playground and fitness areas are closed. The S&P restaurant is also closed.

Reporting exactly what online. TM30?
Did you find it easy to register. Many have not.
Hefty fine? Most reports CW etc 800baht. Not having filed a TM30
Yes, TM30. It's very easy, my wife has registered our house on the website in a matter of minutes (not counting waiting for the confirmation email).
Reporting is also quick and straightforward.
Fines will also need to be paid by the landlord, which seems to be 2,000 Baht.

Better don't gamble with it, fines can be hefty. Reporting is rather easily done online, it takes less time than debating it in this forum.

1 hour ago, Encore said:I do not think the background is relevant but can elaborate. In the 3 months leading up the arrest, some neighbours would shout abuse as I came and went on my motorbike. I was pushed and shoved on occasions and actually punched once. My house was entered 3-4 times with doors and windows left open while I was out (which I considered could be a precursor to a robbery). I tried to report this to the police but they were not concerned. The new neighbours also made false complaints to the landlord saying I was a nuisance even though I led a quiet life alone. I can only believe that these actions were orchestrated because my Thai neighbours did not wish to have a foreigner living on the street.About a week before the arrest, my Thai next door neighbour (who had not previously spoken to me) offered me food while I was sat on the verandah. I thanked him but, after eating, I became dizzy, nauseous and tired so drank salt water to make myself vomit and then went to the hospital. I was checked, given medicine and told that I had a bad case of food poisoning.A few days later my Thai neighbour came home drunk and saw me on my verandah. I was having a drink and cleaning cigarette burn marks from an outdoor table. After some unprovoked verbal abuse he turned a water hose on me, threw large potted plants at me, broke down my front sliding car gate and then came to attack me with a long metal rod. Someone called the police who accused me of attacking the man and forcibly arrested me.When I was arrested, the police would not even let me take my wallet and phone or secure my house and left the front door open. As I was taken away in handcuffs, many of my Thai neighbours were streaming into the house. I guess some things were stolen and everything else was later, apparently, removed from the house by the house owner. The police also removed my expensive shoes and a belt which were never returned.I think I must be living in another Thailand than you...
Never even heard of such continuous, unprovoked, open abuse and violence like you describe. It seems the story is missing a whole lot of details from the opposing side.- 4

You can extend your social security coverage under Section 39 with the pink card if you no longer work and want to pay into the system independently.
I needed to get a pink card to to do this.
Same here. That is the only really useful advantage compared to a driving license in my experience. That's why I never applied for it before.
The driving license is even more useful as it mentions your passport number.

Yes - you can't own anything but you can be used as security for the bank. Isn't it wonderful!
Well, as we're married, half of it belongs to me - regardless of who is registered as owner. So that's not too much of a bother really. In the worst case, it would have to be sold and the proceeds split, but I can live with that.

Thanks for the hints.
I think we'll try UOB and see how it goes! I read elsewhere that they are the most "generous" in this regard as well.

I'm working in Thailand for over ten years and I'm married here. My wife (Thai) has no currently no income or substantial assets. I have a decent income and we're completely debt-free. Most of my money is tied up in medium to long-term investments (Provident Fund, LTF/RMF, etc.) here and overseas. The investments are covering way more than the purchase price of the house we have in mind but I have limited possibilities to turn them into cash without incurring major losses through income tax.
We are planning on obtaining a home loan for buying a townhouse or similar (no condo).
My question: Is it possible to get a home loan from a Thai bank in our circumstances? If yes, what percentage of the purchase price would they be willing to cover? Any preferable banks?
Thanks for any useful advice.

Every worker in the country is facing the sack including the police
in the country...
rather in the world...
No, in some civilised countries you have rights that protects your private sphere. Even at work. Some civilised countries do not allow the employer to survey what people does on the computers. But this is only in the civilised world.
I guess Germany qualifies as a civilised country and yes, you can get fired there for private Internet use.

I can strongly recommend Cigna Global, their coverage is very good (1, 2 or 3 Mio USD depending on selected plan) and they offer a lot of flexibility.
Superb customer service as well (if you don't mind the Scottish accent... ;-)

I am 58 and I am in the top 10% income bracket of the USA. I am far from a loser. I could buy this forum 10 times over.
Congratulations, man! I really envy you...

Central has large malls, but as previously noted the microphone screaming and "dinna kha" bother me as well as the lack of trash bins. The screaming is why I have started shopping for food at Max-value. It is a pleasant store to shop for food and does not practice this ear splitting marketing. Seating, unless you pay for a 100 baht coffee, is uncomfortable in the malls here. Prices for clothing are high and generally not in my size since I am over six feet tall. I don't find the restaurants to be that inexpensive. In fact, the food in the Thai restaurants I would frequent in the US had tastier fare which was considerably cheaper. Only my wife's cooking can beat my often frequented Thai restaurants in the US. One of my favorite pastimes at malls in the US was visiting a bookstore. I could drink a coffee in the store and sit in a comfortable chair or couch and browse books or walk about and view a large selection of Cds and DVDs. There is nothing comparable here for the reader. However, for an air conditioned walk central is the best Thailand has.
I have to object on the book stores. They have nice ones as you described here, too. Try Kinokuniya in Paragon for example, just excellent.

Bottom line , you will never bee accepted as a Thai , You maybe tolerated but as soon as the sh.. hits the fan you are a Falang.

Why wouldn't you be able take cash out of the wallet? You can transfer to a bank account and withdraw from there.
