  1. Just to clarify, she is adamant about not doing LITUK and only wants to apply for FLR in May 2014, she doesn't want to study and wants to work to earn money, I've made her aware of the restrictions of not obtaining ILR.

Our intention is to apply for FLR in person and if obtained to go back to Thailand for maybe 6 to 12 months to live and work, then return to the UK for the remainder of the visa to live and work in the UK, head back to Thailand once the FLR expires. I know that will scupper any future FLR visas.

  2. It's been a while since I posted on here, but I'm trying to work ILR or FLR.

Our circumstances are that we are both employed since arriving in the UK in May 2013, my job started in July and my wifes was in June, I work 29 hours per week and my wife 32 hours per week, we both earn £11500 per annum and we live at my parents house.

We have a joint bank account, but no bills or anything else in joint names, how are we supposed to show in May 2014 that we have a life in the UK when applying for the ILR visa? Our incomes are low, too low to rent, my wife has not started studying for LITUK yet, not sure if she wants too either.

To be honest I don't think that a settlemnet visa was a very good idea one year on, I actually enjoyed my life in Thailand more, not sure about my wife though!

What do you think our chances are, positive and non postive comments welcome...

  3. Sorry, didn't do a search, looks like it's covered. I was watching a programme on BBC website called fast:track about Pattaya and cleaning the place up.

I have been numorous times, but I'm neither positive or negative about the place.

  4. There have been two posts in this thread relating to the Embassy ringing the applicant, one was after about 5 days, the visa was processed about 4 to 5 weeks later and the other applicant was contacted about 3 to 4 days before they got the email to say it had processed, this was after 8 weeks of waiting.

I'm only going what people have posted on here and another forum when the Embassy has contacted them, not many people post about UKBA contacting them.

  5. I was working in Thailand, but without a work permit, hence the "permitted" in the 2nd refusal letter, I managed to wriggle out of that on the 3rd application and I forgot one of my fathers bank accounts on the 2nd application. The change of sponsor on the 2nd application was due to myself running out of money.

The 1st two applications were quite bad and it shows that mistakes can made when you don't know what you are doing!

  6. Why don't you ask one of the forum sponsors. This is from UKBA guidelines pdf, sup-docs-settlement.

  7. Do you bank online or have paper statements dixy1964? I bank online and have always included print outs of my bank statements, never had a problem with them, certificates should be originals plus a copy.

You would be best asking for a 2 or 3 week stay in the UK, her new employer may let her have 2 or 3 weeks off in September and then you gained a reason to return.
