So the change over has been known for months, how did you get the know.Nothing on Bualuang Online Site. Anyhow no reseller in this area uses pin number ,and laughingly the aassistant in the bank said NO NEED TO SIGN THE CARD. THat is fair enough as no one ever checks the signature against my card.Instead they like to sight my pink ID card, but only a glance.TIT

Heard through the grape vine BKB changed ATM cards as of to-day to using a 6 didgit pin number, and new style of embeded chip. What a performance, Passport, Bank Book,House Book.Required 10 sheets of paper, some of which had to be signed twice next select a new pin and entered 4 times.Next came a request for 300Bt for the new card.
Only been baanking with them for over 30 years, never been charged for ATM card before.Hungry barstuards Eh? ttl

OCCASIONALLY I USE MY HOME COUNTRY MASTER CAR PLATINUM SERIES.
At Big C recently after my wife provided her acccount card ,I offered my Bangkok Bank Debit card.I have had their cards for nearly 30 years in Chiang Mai and Mukdahan.Amazing ly it was declined, one point is they DO NOT USE the accepted usage of PIN NUMBER authorisation. The check out operator could not explain why???. HOWEVER I offered my Mastercard, which she processed in the machine, and handed it back, transaction complete.
SO am I at RISK.No pin number was requested and no signature. So am I at risk??
It seems to me that operators have no understanding of pin usage, and any signature is never checked with that shown on reverse of my cards./ How can this process be legal Vince

Pale faces are few and far between, and have wondered if there is a place where they meet for a natter occasionally
Please advise if there is such a location. Also I have heard there is a small golf course but have not found it, also a public swimming pool. See you later Vince

To the uninitiated TOT supply as a PART OF THEIR Package the output of IPTV and all it's' components. There is a full browser and obviously a component from material dated 1/2/1970 which shows on the screen ans then automatically shows current date. The first automatic offering is http.metv.co.th which of course brings the message unavailable
Using a mouse you can select from a good and useful range of options of computer sites, even GOOGLE and work from there with all the balls and whistles. TOT mus be responsible to upgrade the browser one would think, as it is a component included (but not shown)on my monthly account.
Ask your local TOT office next time you pay their bill
-
I am fairly sure I am not in this situation alone. use their Wifi service ,and need technition service once a fortnight because of the server at Mukdahan
I also pay for IPTV for TV general usage and the BROWSER OPTION for international connections ,especially STREAMING of sports events.
As of last weekend the Browser sends me a message to update the Drivers from and including Windows * and 10. Of course the update does not work as the system belongs to TOT.I use sky sport 1.,mainly for MAIN EVENT streaming and also ACTION EV0ENTS when it times out it can take minutes to reload itself, meantime I watch on my small computer screen which is usually 90 seconds ahead of the TV screen They both "time out" after 10 to 15 minutes, so I have to set up again. Many International Sports are of interest generally
As an Kiwi I like to follow the All Blacks, especially with World Cup due soon.
I have called TOT service 3 times in the last 3 days to explain and ask for them to upgrade DRIVERS ASAP. I have made the English connection by phone. but there seems to be no understanding, though as a retired teacher of English as a Second Language I try my hardest. I request they open their system and follow through my actions for them to follow and see the screen reminder to upgrade.
I have tried the local TOT branch at Mukdahan,no understands ANGRIT. They seem unable to use the demo system in their office so I can demonstrate the problems. No use making a phone call to them as as soon as they hear non Thai speach they HANG BLOODY UP.
What is your experience with TOT? Or is it only me.?

Mukdahan has crossings but ran out of white paint years ago. Best example opposite BIG C , large school. no white paint but usually a gendarme thereabouts.60kph speed zone but locals cannot read 6 0nly 80 coming down past Robinsons but never seen a camera anywhere. Could pay for one in a week. This is MUKDAHAN though.

Do not worry, the season is 2 months late now so may as well head for the snow fields Global warming is here right nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwVince

Maybe immigration should be interested in a scanner to save duplicate personal copies to be physically sent to the master office from Mukdahan to Korat and all other offices round the country, Then we only need to submit one copy of every required document which is filed by scanner to ultimate destination where it is instantly available
Would reduce work load considerably for every one????

Even Bangkok Bank have a snare going now,but maybe they are running short of CASH.Needed to draw 10K before going for my Visa extension at Mukdahan main branch. ATM said can only draw 2500Bt max in 100BT notes. tried the next machine which came up with the same answer.Great offer from main branch(this was at 8am)
At the counter had to sign withdrawl slip twice(Not writen in English plus 2 other a4 identical steets TWICE,plus had to hand oner ATM Card, Passport and Passbook/ AHHHHHA!!!
Next I needed the Bank confirmation letter to confirm the balance showing 10K escaping. after 10K withdrawal Has always been 100Bt free service to open the computer, change the name and figures. However this time was given 2 100bt receipts and was told had to pay twice for 2 reciepts for letters.Photocopy must have gone up/reasonable miserable lot.No IFS or BUTS So watch out do not get caught twice, service is no in their dictionary.I have only been banking with them for 36 years Phew!!!!

My wife purchased land 6 years ago and chanote says bare land only
Ther was an older house which we renovated
We have built a shop, nice home and large garage implement shed
fronts onto highway 212 well setup
Thinking of moving on,no govt valuation like most countries had as guide line
Wife say she can only askfor value of land. a few million spent on
improvements buildings and facilities, are of no value at sale time.
Must be an answer somewhere, any information appreciated

Must have a rail link also. Daylight hours commercial traffic on highway 212 consistent average at 700 vehicles an hour roads fast becoming fcuked

Excuse my ignorance I have only resided here for 8 years, prior to that was a successful importer of Thai products for 29 Years
My other occupation was as a lecturer at Institute of Technology specialising in matters of training and safety of all classes of drivers and including those on the water with power boats.
Complacency is a large part of Thai Culture.Full Stop
At least I know on which side my bread is buttered ttl

The last few days have clearly indicated the lack of knowledge and ability of drivers in this country (amongst other contributing factors that could fill another page.)
As an example. I should like to hear comment on a progressive licence from LEARNER to FULL as a way to build the skill base of our drivers for all classifications
The New Zealand Transport Agency has a very comprehensive website from which the requirements are set down, together helpful advice and resources to assist all applicants.Should you wish to visit the website you will find a wealth of situations that could well be adopted )or amended to suit Thailand)
My main objective is to get the discussion on the concept with the hope that the :Local Authority will be obliged to stop, read and listen to comment
I am quite happy to provide data on the next step to Full Licence, which will indicate the way forward to several more options for Heavy Transport,Passenger Vehicles,Taxis etc the list may surprise you: "Your wishes are my command" Thank you

Absolutely correct Even THAI people cannot understand THAI
Never do anything to-day if you can put it off until tomorrow

Just checked highway 212 near my location
Water stations opposite each other and complete with blow up pools and hoses.Occupiers were complaining as local water tower has run dry.
About half the utes passing are filled with people sitting high on the wellside and tailgate.(is that not illegal???) This provided an easy launch platform and a beer goes to the longest trajectory
Very typical performance for this area. Did a few traffic counts during the day and average is over 1000 cars & utes per hour, majority appear to be well above 90kph
Great money maker for a speed camera as the straight road is 4km long before a 35 degree curve which traps a few!
