  1. SOME CONFUSION HERE

Can someone kindly interpret the Thai on this Invoice for me.No one locally can clearly give me the English for the column headings

    or the line headings

This was submitted to cover increase in Labour charges, above that quoted to lay tiles in a new bathroom as against an origional PRICE FOR THE JOB

The job was origionally undertaken,AND NO HOURS INDICATED, although I requested the calculation.

Sorry to be a nuisance (also did not seem to be able to trim the scan(

  2. Have browsed some earlier comment, some of which is conflicting.

Have imported from Thailand for 20 Years.Married my wife here some 10 years back, and also

in my home country 9 years ago.

Arrived here recently, to live in Isaan, on a property owned by my wife for years.

I believe that my NON O 12 month Visa enables me to become registered as a House Resident,

under her BLUE BOOK registration.,by us both presenting to the local Amphur.

I understand that under the 2008 Law of "Registrations of Persons"I am entitled to a YELLOW BOOK

which then entitles me to apply for a drivers licence under the same number, and also becomes my TAX NUMBER if and when required.

Is this the KOR ROR 13 mentioned sometimes, and does this avail me of some medical service at the local Hospital..

A preliminary enquiry was made by my wife to a fairly senior person ,who works at the Amphur.Response was, Never heard of that before.

My wife does not wish to apply and be embarrassed by having the request declined. The 2IC of the local police, when asked, had never heard of it either.

Would really appreciate a defining answer so as to achieve the next step,in residing in Thailand. Constructive comment please,Cheers

  3. The department seems to produce some interesting statistics, like the 30 year averages.

The 30 years runs from 1961 to 1990.So on that basis the information is now 12 years out of date.

I have emailed the Dept suggesting more update information would be relevant, not only for the farming

community but Travel and general interest.NO REPLY, NOW IN THE TO HARD BASKET!

Am I, a loner on this issue .? How can one obtain an update. The daily figures are a reasonable guide, but like every forcast in the world,

it can be rather HIT OR MISS. Comments please

  4. I NEED to pay the correct rate for the area for the following services

ELECTRICIAN for full wiring and installations

    BLOCK layer/floor tile layer

CONCRETE or TarSeal drive way layer

    PAINTER internal and exterior blocks

PLUMBER, rainwater collection system and tanks

I want to pay a fair and reasonable rate, but NO rip offs

    Thanks Guys

  5. You all have seen the highway signs stating 'REDUCE SPEED XYZZZXY CITY"

These "Citys" some very small, are gone in ths dust quite quickly"

However to make these signs work there must be an END TO THE RESTRICTION. This is done in many countries by usung a circular sign with a diagonal bar accross it. Meaning the "restriction ends here"

The restriction has NO END TO IT.

Most of the locals I have driven with, take no heed of the restriction anyway, still continuing at 120kmh.

    What do you reckon??Cheers

  6. Moving to Isaan forum for more specific regional information

Where is ROAD, not highway 212. I cannot find it .Which province is it in? For more info., you can delve back into , forum Computers, where a very large number of posts was made about this very subject. However ,to help you on your way, if you do not have access to a land line, you have 2 options, (1)C.A.T. CDMA.which works well, but for how much longer, nobody knows ,due to upgrading to 3G. (2). Satellite, courtesy of Loxley. It works pretty well, It cost me B5,000 to install the dish + B1,600 per month- unlimited. I am now on CDMA< which I prefer. But do try to find the thread in forum Computers ,it will explain many things and help you find a solution to yourproblem

OUR PROPERTY FRONT ONTO HIGHWAY 212 ,this is a 4 lane highway that runs from Ubon Ratchathani to Mukdahan and beyond,

privince is also Mukdahan. The amazing thing is AOT says there is an 8 month wait for a phone line to our house, the distance is about 60metres. Will check the information you suggest. The problem is very few local people know about Internen and Email etc, that is why I look for a recommendation Thank you

  7. Will be relocating about 7kms north of Nikhom Kham Soi, right on Highway 212

Can someone recommend the best internet solution. Have used AIS dongle on my laptop but

very slow.Phone lines hard to get and expensive.

What about sattelite. Any suggestions welcomed. Mmany thanks

  8. WHO KNOWS?????? Seems as I am the only one who wants to know. Is global warming!!! affecting Thailand.

Can anyone tell me an email address for the met service.I should really like to contact them.

I am investigating posibilities for a new crop for my area. Phew!

  9. Trying to study Thai weather as shown on the 30 Year average chart.Unfortunately it is only giving data up to 1990.

That makes it 21 years out of date.

I have tried to contact them via the website contact data, and even using several variations, the email does not get through

Does some one have an email that works, and what do you think of the outdated historical information

The general daily information is quite comprehensive, hour by hour. cheers Vince Mukdahan

  10. Hi,Recently I was in Makro in Ubon, browsing air con units.

There was a promo on portable units, able to be moved from room to room if required.

I could not get any info from the staff and my wife was not with me.There was no brochure. It looked more like a dehumidifier to me,the display unit was not connected?&^%$%$#@ so hard to get information.Sorry I forgot the brand, but this was about a week back.

Maybe someone knows these units and can help, or maybe you could drop in and check them out,and post your info.Tks Vince

  11. Hi there,

you must surely have booked your air travel through one of the travel agents here in N.Z..

They will tell you anything that you want to know about this.

We travel to Thailand every year from N.Z. and allways get a 30 day stamp at the airport.

    Thanks, for that.

What sparked this was a local thai, told me he got 19days only, have to check with him again, maybe some confusion there

I have been importing from Thailand for 22 years, with never a problem.

I always book direct with Thai. However is this information available on THAIVISA,?? I could not find

however I may have overlooked it somehow.

  12. There seems to be some complications now as I search thaivisa for updates.

Has there been a recent change?. Looking through the list of available tourist visas,

I find one area quotes only 15 days. A further search shows up to 30 or 60 days on arrival

    plus extensions available.

I have just booked my flight on the 28 day basis. Am I in trouble. Heeeeelp?

  13. YES , YES There are pictures on the net of the latest Kia range,at the BANGKOK Motor Show.

Still looking for full dealer address details for Bangkok

I emailed the grandprixgroup email address and it was "undeliverable)

I emailed the venue operators and that was undeliverable.

I drive Kia here, and they are a great :) vehicle and 5 years warranty.

Proposing to relocate the Thailand (despite the reds) about May this year.

NOW, if possibly someone who reads this attends the BANGKOK Motorshow, could they please\post full dealer details here or perhaps PM me.

Phew, it is hard work thanks Vince

  14. We are currently upgrading our property in Nikhom Kham Soi. We will spend a few weeks there shortly, and are currently in New Zealand.Hope to move permanantly in near future.

Only building component suppliers on web seem to be in BKK or South. Need information, on polypropelene or similar roofing, electric hot water systems, or possibly solar, pvc rainwater collection and tanks.

Phone or Fax numbers would be handy, and address also as may be able to get reles to do some checking.

    Thanks Vince :)

  15. Just received an email to say I have won $ US 1,000,000 in a POWER BALL INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY DRAWN IN BANGKOK THIS MONTH.

THE CONTACT PERSON IS REV.KANE LEE. PowerballTowers 45/4 Silom Road Radjamdamrin 23002 Bangkok

Tel 66.823- 337-743 and FAX 66 2734-5216 Strangely enough there is no response to these numbers but the phone does ring.

The email addres of the sender is quite cool

That is a new one for me.

So perhaps someone may care to check and report back. As I am 12,000 miles away a local could do it with less trouble than me.

    Waiting with anticipation??? :)

Did you pay to take part in this lottery?

Did your KFC bucket have participation in this lottery?

    You can't 'win' without participation.

THANKS EVERYONE, I do not recall seeing Powerball Towers for a start, maybe some of the local gals can help about powerballs

It was all pretty obvious but worth puttin it up for comment thanks ttl
