Tour Boat Capsizes in Cheow Lan Dam in Storm: Search for Missing French Tourist
You already give the answer yourself which shows, the comment is not that strange, simple, you do NOT go on the water with the monsoon season here and you know the weather can turn in 5 minutes in disaster.

Tour Boat Capsizes in Cheow Lan Dam in Storm: Search for Missing French Tourist
Not only that, it is the indifference of the Thai people, the ‘Mai Pen Rai’ mentality. The very first time I came to Thailand, that was also with a group on holiday, we were also crammed into a small boat and sailed into Pang Nga Bay, even then there was a big storm, fortunately nothing happened, but this does indicate how easily people think about seemingly non-dangerous situations can be or become very dangerous. My VPN package is going up - Looking for Recommendations - Advice.
Unfortunately, after my experience yesterday, or rather today, I have to agree with you on this. What turns out, because of the price and small risk $1/month, I took out a 1-year subscription with ‘Namecheap’ yesterday, fine, everything worked yesterday. What turns out today, they have blocked the subscription with the reason that they need more information and will block the connection until then. What the <deleted>! They won't get them, have asked for a refund, which I don't expect back. Then just suffer a $12 loss. But a good lesson for others.

My VPN package is going up - Looking for Recommendations - Advice.
I'm due to get a VPN, but after reading all the posts about it today, the choice isn't getting any easier. One says FastVPN, another says Private VPN is the best, another says Surfshark... Should I wait any longer for another best VPN provider?

I need help/advice on lost passaport.
You should be aware, if you have reported it missing to the police, and should you later find it, you will NOT be able to use it again.

Thai transwoman and foreign man clash on gender misunderstanding in Phuket
Also experienced it once when I was single and living on Phuket. Met a nice apparition, had a beer and then took ‘it' to my apartment. But ‘it’ felt ‘wetness’ and told ‘it’ couldn't do anything about my desires. Whether I wanted to take ‘it’ back to Kathu. Just did it but an experience never to forget.

FedEx hold up
They are all the same, it happened to me last week when delivering a parcel from China. Flash Express was the one to deliver it but it was dismissed with the excuse that they couldn't find the address, someone had to pick it up themselves in Tha Yang. By the way, my Thai girlfriend's phone number was on the parcel!

Tourist Hits Pattaya Street Sweeper, Attempts to Flee but is Captured by Bystanders
Nasty that the driver tried to get away, and won't condone it, but we can hope as a foreigner not to be involved in a fatal accident in this country.

Thailand’s debt drive: Putting the brakes on cars and homes
'although I am wondering how young boys can afford a BMW or even a Mercedes or other big cars...They don't have a normal job' Let me guess, perhaps you could ask the same question regarding the country you come from.

Changi Airport Inspires Suvarnabhumi's Ambitious Plans
This is a good endeavour, recently I left from Schiphol airport to here, what an annoyance there as opposed to Suvarnabhumi. Had boarded via intenet and only had to drop off my luggage, for which I had to queue for almost 2 hours. If you depart from Suvarnabhumi and have checked in via the internet, you can drop off your luggage in 5 minutes, which is a whole lot more comfortable.

Maybe it is already too late but be warned about sending a copy of your passport. To be on the safe side, I would write ‘Copy’ on it in red.

Lax Law Enforcement Cited for Alarming Road Fatalities in Thailand
It is more what was there before, the chicken or the egg, as long as the police are corruptible nothing will change. We all know that even when an offence takes place and a police officer passes at that moment, nothing happens. upfront, I 100% agree with you that driving/traffic training sucks and therefore believe that something needs to be done on both sides but in the 25-plus years I've been here, I haven't seen much change happen.

Thai Electric Cables Mostly Fail Global Safety Standards
I'm sorry but I had to laugh at your comment, because what is good in this country. There is no education or decent education for anything. So, what do you expect?
