  2. I'm looking to book Bangkok to Kathmandu - unfortunately AirAsia my budget airline choice no longer fly's that route... Thai Lion Air - Reviews are NOT good, so thought I'd post here to see what YOU guys thought? Any other budget airlines fly that route? TIA!
  3. my xmas day bkk bank interest was 54B... AND a whopping 8B tax, on the way home by the public 47 red bus, i decided to look out the window when the ticket lady got near me, ...LOVELY saved myself the 8B bus fare WHICH DOUBLES as my bank TAX REFUND!
  4. NO, but there is NO customs at LHR as they are ALL ...STRIKING!
  5. imo, 99.9% of these "investment/financial advisors" know SH*T! YOU only have to read 3 good investment books and you will know MORE than the above MORONS! cos if they did know about the markets... WHY are they working ? ONLY 1 reason -> TO RIP YOU off with their fees, as you point out: "Look at all the yachts of investment advisers. But where are the yachts of their customers?" RANT OVER!
  6. yeah tried Italian basil, not as good... anyways i have a new plan, at the wifes house in the garden she has tall mature kaphrao plants in fact bushes!, im going to dig some out and take them to the UK, complete with the roots in a damp wet plastic bag with my ...cabin bag ...im sure the Thai airways crew will find it hilarious, and not bother me!
  7. what if you were a snowbird ?...bet ya crave this dish while away, as i do when I'm in the UK, i even tried to grow the 'holy kaprao basil' from seeds in UK but, NO luck! in fact i MISS this kaphrao dish even MORE than the Thai-wife whilst in the UK lol!
  8. May as well post my questions here than start a new thread as its in regards to: 60 day extension on a non-o marriage visa in year 2023 The following docs will be required... anything I've missed? Passport (original). Photocopy of passport. Photocopy of visa / stamp House certificate / copy of lease agreement at the APT/condo you stay in. (original if you have it). It must have your signature and the owner's signature on it. A signed copy of the home owner's ID card – if not your wife. Wife’s Tabien Baan (copy is fine). This is the house document for the home where she is officially registered. Wife's ID card (original to be shown, but also have a copy with you) Marriage Certificate (original and copy). Lastly...1,900 baht! My only concern is my Bangkok apartment contract - as its only done in one name only (my wife) that is APT company policy, so will the form (TM.30) below be OK for my residence details? The other question is, my 90 day visa is up on 25 FEB ...if i go to Chaeng Wattana say 3 weeks before 25 FEB...will my 60 day extension start from 25 FEB? In other words whats the earliest i can apply for the 60 day extension? Anyone done this recently do chime in, as always hoping the forums visa expert @ubonjoe will be along shortly...???? NOTIFICATION FORM FOR HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED (TM.30) https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/28แบบการแจ้งรับคนต่างด้าวเข้าพักอาศัย.pdf APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM - TM7 https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/14คำขออนุญาตเพื่ออยู่ในราชอาณาจักรเป็นการชั่วคราวต่อไป-ตม.7.pdf

  10. NO...that's why he plans on suing them, what a hope! The lawyer for Charles Sobhraj said: his top priorities included filing lawsuits against the BBC and Netflix, co-producers of last year's series. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11574077/The-Serpent-serial-killer-says-SUE-BBC-falsified-TV-series.html
  11. OP & others looking for up to date info on: Thailand Entry Requirements check this site out it EXCELLENT! https://www.thaiembassy.com/weekly-updates/thailand-entry-requirements-for-october-2022
  12. UPDATE: Well surprise ...surprise, i got the Non O visa on monday! took 5 working days pretty good. i thought there would be problems, cos when i submitted the photos system said to bright or something?! anyways, FAR better doing it online than all the hassle of visiting/ or by post. a couple of tips for anybody would be make sure you do it at least 1 month before departure, also the online system has a function whereby after you upload all the docs, you can ask to have them checked, i assume this is FREE????? also you will need to put more than 1 doc in a file upload sometimes + resizing etc, i use the free 'paint' software on my computer, if you don't know how to use 'paint' go to youtube, and learn from the free tutorials. its a piece of cake!
  13. this is the problem, with the online system, it is NOT clear. in the last 3 years non-0 at london thai ebassy (precovid) i did it in person and they asked for wifes financial /work letter. i've submitted it today, we shall see. will post results.
  14. yeah agree that's what i'll do. today created an account at thaievisa.go.th and filled out most of it and uploaded some of the docs, just waiting for wifey to supply a salary letter from her company - that won't be until tuesday. I'd say it's best to apply at least a month before travel as you just don't know what they are going to ask for... the Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum ....was a shock cos for 20 years i got a non-imm O visa from Cardiff with nothing more than a BS biz letter from a mate! I have NEVER been asked for proof of funds to enter Thailand...until now!
  15. do you think this could cause them rejecting my application? can anyone here confirm they blocked out acc numbers? the e-visa site should state you can block out acc numbers, cos all they ask is the below: (10 . Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum, with name & visible * )
  16. Hi guys. just read through the pdf AND have some questions to the visa requirements below: -Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum, with name & visible * i don't have £10K in my current acc, however i do in my nsi saving acc, can i block out the acc number for security reasons? -Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party * is the above for my Thai wife? -Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency. * will a council tax statement with my name & address be OK for the above? Hope someone replies soon as I want to get this submitted tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
  17. 1 month...thats crazy! here in the UK the thai embassy for many years stated not to apply to early just apply 1 month b4 departure. on the thaievisa.go.th e-visa site it states : Visa applicants are suggested to submit application at least 15 working days prior to the intended travelling date to Thailand. anyways, thanks for replies and info, pls post any other additional useful info. i will submit my application this weekend which will give me 1 month prior to departure. i will report back.
  18. Hi Tim, I am married to a Thai, over 50 and will be in Thailand for 90 days, from end of next month ->NOV. So in my case surely applying for a: single entry Non-Immigrant Type O (90 days) is the best option? Is there a better option to get 90 days? I'm i missing something as I don't really understand the bit I bolded in your post. THANKS!
  19. ^^ Thanks! i've gone through a few pages of the 'applying for thai visa ' page here and from what i can see, other than the excess docs they require - seems most have no issues? Yes / no? What's the general consensus here amongst you guys in regards to the new online Thai e-visa system? THANKS!
  20. Hi all. i'm about to apply for a single entry Non-Immigrant Type O (90 days) ( London site https://thaievisa.go.th/) and this thread seems like a good place to post questions... in the pic below -> "purpose of visit" is that correct for visiting my Thai wife? Any advice is much appreciated. THANKS!
  21. @^^ thanks mate, i'd rather do it online just worried about incompetence with there online system... Cardiff consulate - states you can do it via an appointment? http://www.thaiconsulatewales.org.uk/visas.htm
  22. hi guys, thought i'd post here cos just been on the thaievisa.go.th and it's just confusing to say the least! All I need is a single entry Non-Immigrant Type O (90 days) . Previously I went into London and did it on the day, with just the wifes ID, passport copy & marriage cert. easy. my question is: are there a LOT of problems with applying via the new online system as in 'Seagull Sam' case? I fly out last week in November so I want to get this done in the next couple of weeks. may just bite the bullet and drive the 70 odd miles to Cardiff consulate and get it done as i now live in Glos. Any advice is much appreciated. THANKS!
