Anyone had any experience with buying from China? i know a lot of the factories that produce the original items are situated around the outskirts of Guangzhou
anyone had any experince with buying from here, or been here for a trip??
i believe it is a city of many millions, so would be good to have some contacts or good info before stumbling blindly down the plane steps

i think this is the address - http://www.cheaptickets.co.th/

..... a host that will protect my details if anyone was to go snooping
I still dont understand what you want to keep private and who you think might be after your details.
"Snooping" wont get anyone any useful information. A court order will. Hacking into the hoster's billing records might also, but those will not be connected to the actual server. And just because a server is in the Caymans or Panama or anywhere else wont make it any more or less susceptible to being hacked.
So presumably you are looking for protection from some government entity?
yea, i am worried that my venture will be deemed by some as breaching some copyright issues..... i know that it is not, as i have sought legal advice, but i would not like to be summonsed to court to have to defend myself, as that in itself would be expensive / stressful / time consuming
so i need a hosting country & company, that an enforcement agency may look at, and think "lets no even bother trying to get the details on this website, as we know this hosting company will not play ball, and the government of this country will not be interested in our requirement for information"
i am thinking panama, belize, china, hong kong etc.....
anyone have any experience of this sort of situation, or more specifically, could recommend a company?

Hi Guys, i run a small website selling clothes and whilst here in Thailand i was hoping to be able to find some original items i could purchase and sell on the website. I have looked long and hard but so far no luck. i have tried Pratunam (tho it is big and i may have missed something), chatachuk, MBK, Bobae, patpong, aranyapratet..... etc, but have had no luck
i thought that some of the original stock would end up somewhere in thailand as seconds, excess production etc
some of the factory outlets on the big roads are ok, but a little expensive to make purchasing viable
can anyone help me out here?? any ideas where else i should try, or contact details of anyone who is trading in original items of branded clothing
hope you are all well

You aren't very clear but it seems as though you are talking about the WHOIS details. These are part of the domain registration and have nothing to do with the hosting.
Most registrars offer WHOIS masking of .com domains for a fee, or indeed often for free in Europe. It is only masking though, and your details will be released to anyone with the correct court order.
The only information about hosting that is available to anyone is the IP address, and of course without that there is no hosting anyway so there's not much point hiding it.
Or maybe you are thinking about something else entirely?
the domain is already protected by privacy.....
what i want is a server to host my site...... a host that will protect my details if anyone was to go snooping
i also want the host to be situated somewhere that would not affect my search engine rankings for the site, and have no lag on serving the pages.... i have found a few options, but they are all offering Linux, not Windows

i have four mates coming out, and they will be too tired after the flight to get the bus........ but 4000 each is a pricey doo
how much is a good rate for a taxi from bangkok u think??? anyone know what a good price is?
-
i think from the UK sending via halifax bank is the cheapest method..... £9.50 flat rate, and when the ££££'s arrive hre, you get the TT rate from your bank.........
but this would not be effective for your monthly pension i guess, unless you accumlate the ££££'s and send every 6 months

i bought one before in the UK, in a lovely shop called Cash Convertors....
i simply walked to the counter, paid my money, and was given the card........
no account was required and no ID was shown
is there a service like that here in thailand???

Can anyone recommend a good, relatively cheap, anonymous host, where i can run a small ASP site?
I am not doing anything shady, but for complicated reasons, i need the host to be able to protect my details for me.....
I looked at CCIhosting in panama, but their reviews were not great

how much do you want to send ?
a u.k bank will charge you to send a wire transfer and the thai bank charge to convert pounds into baht.
the above charges are quite small but still a factor if your sending small amounts.
if you can get a credit card with zero overseas charges - halifx clarity and santander zero etc - you can then go into a bank and ask for a cash advance and wont receive any fees.
i have a santander zero , it's limited to 300 pounds a day but i have transferred thousands of pounds into thailand with it and not paid a penny in charges.
if your going to send larger amounts then maybe wire transfer is better - you can compare the different thai banks here :
http://bankexchanger...et/default.aspx
the wire transfers take a few days so if you want to get a gaurantted rate then maybe a company like hifx or moneycorp can be used - i have used smartcurrency exchange in the past and they were giving rates with-in 0.5% of the interbank rate and no fee if over 3000 pounds converted into baht.
scb seem to always have a good TT rate.
i have a Halifax Clarity, but i always thought, that if you take out cash on the credit card, then you will start to pay interest on the amount as soon as you take the cash. So if you take the money 15 days before your credit card bill arrives, you will be paying 18% interest or something on that amount for 15 days....
am i mistaken??

Reversal Of Sterilisation For My Girlfriend
in Health and Medicine
Posted
Hi Guys......
My girlfriend and I want to start a family. She is 33 and after her first 2 children, she was sterilised at age 21.
We are wanting to reverse this process, and have been to see the doctors. My sperm count is good, and she has had xrays and blood tests etc, and she is good to go too.
The next stage we have been told by Siriraj hospital, is that she should have a camera inside to see if she should go through with the operation, then if that is good, we can proceed to the op. The only thing is though, is that because Siriraj is such a good hospital, and it is located in Bangkok, the waiting list is over 7 months for the operation. This is quite long for us to wait, as we were planning on living in England for a while (where the waiting lists are 2 years i have read).
So my girlfriend and I are looking for another hospital in Thailand, preferably a government hospital, although we would consider private.
Has anyone had any experience with this operation, or know anyone who has, and do you know where they got it done, how long they had to wait, and how well they were treated??
We live in Hua Hin, and she is from Kalasin, but we would not mind to travel anywhere in the Kingdom for the operation.......
thanks in advance, and best wishes to all,
Jason
