Who still drinks at 5am or is this the start to aother Pattaya day ?
Those working night shift for one. There are probably more than you realise. Many fancy a beer after work and why not?.

My Thai workmate had a kidney transplant at Chulalongkorn Hospital. He told me it was the best place in Thailand for the procedure, even though it is a government (public) hospital. To shorten the delay, he admitted himself as a semi-private patient, which entitled him to a room instead of a ward.
This was several years ago but might still be worth checking out.

CTH have the Nat Geo channel I think , must be dubbed into , will check later.
Do True still have the BBC knowledge channel ?
Yes, True still has BBC Knowledge (channel 568) and most of their documentaries give a choice of English or dubbed Thai.

Adam Sandler plumbing the depths again. He hasn't made a good movie since Happy Gilmore in 1996.

Didn't Thailand Post discontinue overseas surface mail a few years ago? I tried to send some books to a friend in the US by sea mail in 2008 and my local post office told me it was no longer possible. I had to use airmail and it was hellish expensive. I don't know if their policy has changed since then but I've a feeling that sea mail no longer exists.

Exactly how many farangs have been killed in all of the Thai coups?
Balconies are far deadlier to farangs than any internecine violence.
Only two as far as I know.
Journalists Neil Davis and Bill Latch were caught in a crossfire and killed while covering an abortive coup in 1985.
A tragedy.

I hope the derogatory reference to the "retarded cowboy" who served two terms wasn't directed at Reagan. That would be unwarranted and unfair. None of today's presidential candidates, Clinton and Jeb Bush included, are fit to walk in his footsteps.

Richard Quest, CNN is outspoken. He also drives me nuts.

The Revenue Code states that you have to pay income tax on work done in Thailand, regardless of age.

No contest...Steven Wright followed by the late Richard Pryor.

It also priced itself out of the market. Prices were ridiculous for what was on offer.

Peter Rudi Festerling is setting a fine example but let's not forget the other groups of foreigners who clean beaches in Koh Samui, Phuket and, occasionally, Rayong. Other groups, mainly Thai, have been seen tackling the beaches of Pattaya, although their numbers are dwindling. I fear they are writing it off as a lost cause.

Toss-up between Russell Brand and Katie Price aka Jordan.
They deserve each other.

Save a place for super-smug Simon Cowell.

Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
(Honourable mentions to Jerry Seinfeld and Steven Wright.)

Timothy Spall gave a chilling performance as Albert Pierrepoint in "The Last Hangman" (2005) but I don't think he was involved in "The Last Executioner". That's a Thai film, based on a book, and the actors presumably are Thai.
The death penalty hasn't been abolished here yet so the title needs a question mark.

Superstitious Thais blame attempts by Rahu, the mythical god of darkness, to swallow the sun, hence the eclipse. They beat Rahu off with drums and other noisemakers and it seems to work!
They don't cower in schools or other hiding places, but face the evil Rahu head-on in full confrontation mode.
I think the UK's nanny education system is being over-cautious, as usual. I hope they have got this sorted out by the time the full solar eclipse comes around in 2090.

While I like the idea of 4K Blu-Ray, I would be hesitant about buying my favourite movies all over again in yet another format. I'm nearly broke after buying them in VHS video, Laserdisc, regular DVD and standard Blu-Ray and have run out of shelf space to add 4K Blu-Ray. I think buyer fatigue will have a strong impact on sales and suspect many fans with large libraries will be content to upscale from 1080.

At least he didn't marry someone in California. A divorce there would have cost him at least 50% of his net worth. Believing that a woman truly loves you there can be a real disaster if you are mistaken and there's absolutely no possibility of getting your money back. Losing 350K here doesn't seem so bad in comparison.
Not just California. How much did Heather Mills take Paul McCartney for?

Ever since my wife discovered Facebook and adopted a cute, lovable dog, marital life has been sunshine and rainbows. No shortage of conversational topics or reasons to argue. Pets bring harmony to any home. Facebook means she can take out any negativity on her friends, not me. This is a winning combination as far as I'm concerned.

I've worked at least 30 years on nightshift putting newspapers to bed so that's my goose cooked!
