  1. I bet Yingluck and the PTP don't bat an eyelid... They have his money in their numerous offshore accounts and sleep in silk sheets and drink the finest of wines...

They don't care about stupid farmers and their problems... Only on election day do they give a shit.... Let's all hope the farmers strike back by voting with their feet.

Alas.... All the staunch red shirt areas all were paid... It's politics and a pathway into the trough... The life of a few farmers????.... small price to pay as far as this regime is concerned.

Will he have to sell his basketball team ?

In China I am referred to as that F!!!n whitey. Chinese Hate Whitey's, just thought i'd let U know NKK.

I live in Hong Kong for 20 years and speak Cantonese although rusty now.

Westerner is ' Sai Yan ' but most common was ' Gwai Lo ' or foreign devil which depending on use could be fun, an insult or just everyday language. it was so common that foreigners themselves used " gwai ' to refer to other colleagues but the old meaning was always there when used by the Chinese.

  4. I gave up reading the article two 3rds of the way through.I suggest the author looks back at Thai history as to what was going on here 3/4 hundred years ago.Even as recently as the 60"s it was described as a licentious society.Does anyone remember the furor a few years ago when the British Ambassadors papers were released and Thailand took umbrage ( again ).I have been to Venice several times and there is no way it can be compared with the filth of the canals here.TAT again.

  6. Well Durian is the 'King of Fruits'. This was clearly a case of treasonous fruit tomfoolery.

On a serious note, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, so I will just close my eyes a moment while I sit at the desk and shake my head. 15 days jail for selling unripe fruit, something which apparently could affect the local economy!! I assume the thugs in that part of the country who are minted from the corrupt rice pledging are not considered to be affecting the economy. The fact that a woman who kills 9 gets away with a 2 yr sentence reduced to a small amount of community service in comparison is a shocker. The judge should just have ordered the guy to pay the money back and eat the durian. Whatever happened to Caveat Emptor?

Well here in Thailand you are innocent until proven guilty, unless you have the caveat of being a hiso.So the henious crime of selling unripened durian is sure to destroy the international reputation of Thailand.Should this case be brought to the ICC in the Hague, there is no doubt what the verdict will be.The defendant will be found guilty for the crime of defaming the national fruit of Thailand and therefor must be committed to a sentence that reflects the crime

  7. It would be laughable if it were not so terribly unjust!

Kill 9 persons on expressway and walk out free with 48 hours of community work, without even seing how a jail looks like.

Kill 3 cops while trying to evade a road block, and walk out on bail.....

Sell unripe fruits, and be a government guest for 15 days...........

    Just can't believe it!

    I can it's called uniformity .

everything done to the book --just like second hand car dealers guide in UK. the price to pay is there in black and white---cheesy.gif

    Glasses Guide,good old days.

  8. Within minutes of leaving my home in Udon Thani I can be heading into rural areas even on Highway 2 and shudder every time I'm overtaken by a beat up old pickup loaded to the gun'ales with people. If anything goes wrong ... !

Nothing different down here in the big smoke.About 10 years ago I drove to Don Meung airport ( about a 20 minute drive ). i saw at least 3 shunts and I laughed, why?Easy answer pure an utter stupidity.I do wish the moderators would stop posting this (lost for words now ).This is not news,it is proving Darwins theory about evolution.A topic wasted on here. Before anyone comments, let us know about your experience on Thai roads.I have had a few near misses where it was not my fault and I have learned not to stop, because as a farang you are to blame.

  9. Suthep is silent on his plans for more disruption. The only source of information is a vendor of grilled pork.

Grilled pork, arroy arroy.U not believe me.Glad you are still here,I am missing your compatriotes,Fb,fab4 et al,].I think you are a real good sport because you give TV posters a bit of a challenge. Not much mind you,but something is better than nothing.

  10. As I have said several times here on TV, Thailand is run by people who have the education level of 6th grade children. This is because the majority of the folk, who actually run the country, never went past the 6th grade. It is going to take a couple of generations after the education system here is brought to western standards. In other words, none of us here on TV will ever see it.

Ya gotta work as teacher in a Thai school to understand.I had 7 years before I threw in the towel.I just couldn't take anymore.I loved the job and the kids, but the system got the better of me.First time in my life I put my hands up and said "You Win".But I have had the luxury of financial security, and that makes a lot of difference.I could tell them how I felt.It made no difference.
