  1. numerous, for example patong:

    free:

    welcome inn +

    laleewadee (small one time charge)

    burasari

    connect +

    lionchai +

    thai base camp +

    large charge:

    holiday inn

    meridien

usually just in public areas, sometimes in rooms as well

+ rooms around 1000 baht, other hotels are more expensive

I recommend welcome inn, or laleewadee (book this one on latestays)

  2. I awoke this morning with a terrible pain in my right femur. Have had a few aches there over the years due to a massive fracture as a teenager (motorcycle accident) but nothing like this.... I could barely walk. It scared me actually!!

I know this injury will incapacitate me one day, but... I don't want it to be now - I am only 41!

Does anybody know of a good Orthopaedic specialist I can see on PHUKET? Maybe it's the beginning of arthritis but - maybe- I can head it off with some diet changes?

    Cheers! :o

i went to alady doctor (orth surgeon) last year at bkk phuket hospital, she was good, good luck

  3. Yes, the bus goes every day between Phuket and the airport as I can see him when going to work/back home.

    I do have some questions:

Where is the website for the schedule?

Where around Central can you pick it up?

    Thanks Andrewryan

  4. HI,

I am looking for a room in patongfor one person . I would like it to be quiet in the morning and within 13 minut5es walk to the beach. AC and cable preferred but not reuired. I stayed at u2 mansion last time - great - but had to head home for hospital, so now I am coming back and looking again. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thank you, [email protected].

I am also looking at Phuket gazette.

Give me an idea of how much you are prepared to pay, then I'll get back to you.

    Thanks Sonthaya,

Price is not the most important consideration, but it should be decent value. Since I do not want a pool or other features and even tv and ac are optional, i would broadly say between 200 and 1000 baht a day, but would guess between 300 and 500 is appropriate.

  6. either all or most of the time, or almost never? Also how expensive is the installation/equiptment for ubc _ I would want to have it for four or five months in a central patong location to be determined starting this November, thanks andrew

  7. I know a chiropracter appropriately named Dr. Richard Cracknell.

Basically he cracks bones, but he also practice other holistic medicines such as accupuncture, encouraging the use of colloidal silver, etc. He has his clinic in Kata.

PM me if you want his telephone number :o

there is a british hypnotist named David, a retired architect in Rawai. PM me if you want his telephone number.

  8. Could any one please name a specific physiotherapist and or personal trainer, preferably in bangkok or in phuket, with some contact information.

please do not recommend just an institution ie a hospital or health club name with out the name of a therapist or a trainer, as that will not be useful for me.

If it could be done privately so much the better, I just have some back trouble, I know what the problem is, do not require any machinery or equiptment, just need someone to work with me on some exercises that I need to do.

Also if someone has the name of a urologist that has performed surgery on them that they were happy with who camewith good recommendations, experience, education etc that would be great - might need surgery in the future.

    Thank You

    Ryan

  9. or even better from Karon Noi on the way to Karon.

Prefer a company that is safe, will pick me up either at my hotel or in Patong

AND that will give me at least FIFTEEN minutes to shop in Burma/victoria point -

anyone have any ideas and ideally direct contact info for the visa run company (prefer to travel agent as some things sometimes get lost in translation.

    thanks

    andrew

(or alternatively is anyone is driving on January 27 or ideally 28th or 30 days later)

  10. criteria: cable tv (ubc preferred)

    air condition

maximum 10 minutes walk to beach (12 ok too)

quiet, quiet , quiet (so not condotel). Should be quiet from 3 am to noon-

at other times I do not care.

small swimming pool preferred but not essential

    moderately priced

small place ok, but no problem bringing guests.

ok security - ideally can leave passport and other documents with management.

Dates 1. Starting January 4 for a minimum of 3 months (I can start a couple of days later if booked over New Years).

    2. May also consider for 2-3 weeks starting around December 4 or 5 so that I can check it out and also arrange payment for the January stay.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

  11. information for a visa run company offering sme day service ideally from patong or leaving 7 aM or afterwards so that i can get there by bus from patong

MOST important criteria - at least 15 minutes at victoria point as i would like to do some shopping.

Other criteria, cost (does it include the $5 fee or not), safety.

Second question: If I am one day overstay, can I just pay the 200 baht fine with no hassle.

Third Question: Would like the contact information for the company that goes to Andaman club instead?

Finally If I want to overnight in Victoria Point and do a do it myself trip, does the $5 visa for Burma suffice, or do I need a different visa and or to exchange a certain amount of money?

    Thanks
