  1. Hi, Thnxs reply. Cost is indicated as only 16$ - had problem many years ago at UK Depart - 'check in' was concerned that Depart/Return was maybe 4 to 5 months between. At the time I had my Retirement Visa stamp indicating I could stay 12 months so all OK - they let me through. But this time - travelling Tourist Visa 30 days - concerned if I buy ticket showing more than 30 days for a Return. Possibly may decide to stay on and go for a Retirement Visa once more - necessary funds are there since many years. Best Rgds
  2. Hi Everyone, Looking for a return to Thailand after being stranded in Europe (Covid) - long story - finally hoping to make it back. Does anyone have any experience ref ONEWAYFLY >> 'Quickly Book a Legit Flight Reservation' Is their paperwork acceptable at Airport arrivals / entry etc. I previously had a Retirement Visa for a number of years and may try to pick up on that again - but want to stay flexible ref travel planning. Hope to hear from anyone with 'the knowledge'. Best Rgds.
  3. Hi, Spent yesterday getting up to speed on eSIM - great idea - only problem appears to be that although purchased from new maybe only 2 months ago - True-H say my Samsung A22 is not suitable for eSIM - message on their site when loggedIn. Not at all happpy with that - researching further. Bst Rgds & thnxs
  4. Good stuff - thank you & Happy New Year to one and All.
  5. Hi Everyone, I have a True-H SIM in a Smart Phone - I need to get it recognised in UK for Internet Access. It is set for 'Roaming'- used for a few years now - I receive Thai txts etc. wherever. I have purchased a WEB bundle for the SIM twice - through my Account with TRUE H. But despite that no Internet Access but the 'Bundle Credit' disappears PDQ - so it is going somewhere. In UK I use WiFi - but for what I need to access I am informed I need to switch off WiFi and use Cellular for a short period. I know that True-H uses Vodafone in UK - so it seems to me it should be possible - I appreciate it might be 'expensive'. I use a Samsung A22. Completely 'Unlocked' etc. Anyone done this sort of thing previously? I think I probably need to set up some technical data in the Smart ref Best Rgds
  6. Hi, Your summary is exactly correct.. From what has been stated above it would seem to be that a Visa run at the 45 day mark will be involved - long time since had to do one of those - I got lazy. ;o)) But thnxs to all responses - like to be 'organised. Use this opportunity to wish one and all a Happy New Year - heres hoping.
  7. Hi All, Prior to Covid my wife and I both had 12 Month Visa Purpose Retirement on basis of Funds in Thai Banks - based in Chiang Mai. Funds are still there and have been continually. I want to visit Thailand to deal with some points that may need more than the present 45 day Waiver. Can we enter early coming January and organise simply for a 90 extension with intention to be leaving at end of that period. Reasoning is that we would return circa September to try for the 12 Month Visa Purpose Retirement once more - so that renewal always comes December time - every year. Timing fits with visits to families etc. Best Regards and good Christmas to one and all.
  8. I'd say that covers it all pretty much. I got myself stuck here for Covid 'interlude' - can't believe how 'mentality' has changed so much past 20 years or so. Best Rgds Rgds
  9. Hi Dr Jack54 Understand your comment but there was a reasoning behind the FCA. 2 pensions arriving each month converting automatically to Baht - hence a Surfeit. Problem at moment is that Bank will not convert the FCA to Baht unless I am physically in the Bank with Passbook in hand. If I have to wait until I am there to do that and it meant a further 3 months until I could go ahead with all the paperwork - bit of a disaster in the planning. Just trying to make sure of all - as far as is possible. Best Rgds.
  10. Hi ubonjoe, Thnxs for reply - all understood. I just added your above TxT to my 'Getting There' Notes File. Other points - For 'waiver' arrival - use TM87 - for 90 day stay 'non-o visa' - correct? - Is 'immigration division headquarter' for Chiang Mai the Office out by Airport?. - is a mix of currency OK for the 800K - always has been for us until now - the Bank produced a letter showing total Baht valuation. Everything everywhere seems to be on the 'change' - so checking all. Best Rgds.
  11. Hi All, Several have mentioned that to move from 45(30) day entry to 90 days extension TM87 paperwork is sent to Bangkok for approval - so circa 21 days. Makes it all a bit 'tight' so would like to make sure no slip ups. Both wife and myself have continually kept more than sufficient Bank balances in Thailand - more than 10 years now. Balances are kept in Thai Baht and in a Foreign Curreny Account ( Sterling). In the past each year prior to the annual 'trek' to Immi Offices for our '12 months 'Purpose Retirement' our Thai Bank has always supplied a signed letter confirming the total Balance value in Thai Baht - but with detail of the Sterling Balance and the current conversion rate. This has always been the case for all past years and never queried. But in view of the current 'Approval' proceedure - does anybody know if the above will pass 'muster'? Best Rgds
  12. HI, Yup - Chiang Mai . Tallish chap - appeared to be able to 'boss' others about - showing them how it all should be done etc.
  13. THnxs - got that.
  14. Hi BritTim, Funds have been in a Thai Bank Accounts - myself and wife - seperate - for all of 10 years - kept at circa 1Mil each. There was a bit of a situation right at the start as I transferred for both my wife and myself in one tranche and then moved funds to her account. Made sense - only way with Pension Company but also cut transfer costs. Apparently by doing that it could have been considered as an 'internal' transfer to wife and queried but it never was. Reason I write now is to ask does anyone know what is checked in BKK for the Non O 90 days. I am recently nervous ref all this checking as we have had a hell of a time in UK first few months stranded. No UK Bank Account on arrival but needed for certain payments. Pensions are UK based - 'dues' paid in UK - all necessary documentation to prove - theoretically no problems being in UK. Nevertheless great difficulty with UK Banks to get an Account - all said a 'no show' on their Credit Checking. We discoverd Credit Checking Agencies only look at UK transactions - 'chicken and egg'! Finally wife who is French managed - myself a Brit - once operating a UK Company in good standing - much longer - all a joke. I would give a word of advice to anyone - even if a nuisance - do not let that UK Account go. Hold it tight as you can. I always considered the UK as 'super international' - no longer - all very parochial. I worked all over Europe previously never these problems. Best Rgds.
  15. Hi again, They were always impeccably behaved with us - only once did an Official make us run back to the Bank again as our Bank Letter was from the day previous and not that of our Immi visit.
  16. Good info - thnxs - that suites just fine.
  17. Hi BritTim, Not sure I like that - never before - I always just had to just cough up the 1900 Baht. Things become 'tight' due to the Covid 'Imbroglio' ?? Best Rgds
  18. Thanks to everyone for the very clear advice. Want to know anything Thai at all - log into ThaiVisa ( ASEAN) Funds already in situ - have been since 'way back' - so apart from the Jet Lag ( getting on a bit these days ) - Bank Visits - Immi queues? - seems just a matter of out of the 'starting blocks' PDQ. Once again thnxs to all.
  19. Good advice - thnxs All best
  20. Thnxs Bob - grateful - that's the one. Do you happen to know how soon after a TM87 success you can go for the TM7 Trying to judge arrival dates to get underway so that the annual renewal - assuming we succeed - comes at right time for our yearly walkabout to UK and wifes folks in France etc. Best Rgds
  21. Hi Everybody, For maybe 10 years or so my wife and I held the Non Immi O Visa 12 months Purpose Retirement. While on visit to UK - Covid put a 'lid' on that. Maybe you should never go back to anything - but we intend to try next 6 weeks or so. We are heading back Chiang Mai hopefuly to fix 12 month Visa etc - Purpose Retirement. Figure in as a 'Tourist' - then 90 days then 12 months. Necessary funds already in Thai bank - in fact have never left. So does anyone know what Form is required for the move to 90 days from 'Tourist' is it the TM7?? How soon can that be done? At the moment it seems it is up to 45 days as Tourist but I want to move to 90 Days and then 12 month Visa soonest so that an annual renewal comes circa February latest. Any and all advice more than welcome. I managed all those years ago for that first 12 months Purpose Retirement based on information from this Forum - indispensable. Best Rgds
  22. Hi Andrew, I had same problem and thoughts as Londinium above. My wife and I - both non Thai - ran for 10 years with Non O 12 month Retirments - CM a great spot. 2020 saw the whole thing fall apart due to Covid - now looking to pick up the threads. Had thought to try using a train ticket - but your suggestion much better. Still have our Banks etc there - so your 'onwardticket' is last piece in jig saw - thanks so much for that. Best Rgds.
  23. Hi all, Bit out of touch with Thai side stuff - previously had 12 month Retirment Visa - 'O' Non Imm. Approx last 10 years - stayed for many months each year then visited folks in Europe and UK. Covid rather put a 'lid' on that - stuck UK side of things - now hoping to start up once more. Both Spouse and I still have our Thai Bank Accounts each with sufficient funds. Thai Driving Lincense still valid. From fact checking route looks like previous. 30 Day Visa exempt entry >> 90 day extension >> 12 month Visa purpose retirement - is this still valid route? I just read that if 30 Day Visa exempt entry Flight ticket must show exit at 30 days. But as we would would be arriving intending to stay for many months is the above Ticket thing for real? Never met that before all those years - only once a query at UK departure airport pre-flight. If no go on 30 >> 90 >> 12 months for any reason would 'buzz off' down to Malaysia and then back for the Return Flight at later ticket date. Our Passports still have all the previous 12 Month Visa 'O' Non Imm stamps but now (sadly) with a 2 year gap. Comments gratefully sought. Best Rgds.
