I'm scratching my head, can somebody point me to somewhere that is not fake news in Thailand as news is made up to suit the moving situations daily.

I suspect they have lost at least 3 zeros off that figure, possibly the Thai tourist board has borrowed them ????

The Chinese government will not allow its citizens to travel to Thailand because Thailand repeatedly shows it has not got control over corvid. We can only hope that the recent cross border revelations are not the flame that lights the blue touch paper ???? Why do I keep getting the suspicion that the non reporting is a delaying tactic for the top echelons to squirrel their money and themselves out of the country before the loss of control hits.

Its here and im sure it has been for a while, but no recent deaths reported, now that is what i find strange.
If you don't report deaths from covid you have no covid (Thai logic) just as if you do not test you will not find.

Strangely enough the ground floor are rarely broken into as they are regularly looked at/patrolled by security and thieves generally go for first floor if easily accessible a professional condo manager told me this he also told me 90%+ of break ins are internal. Ground floor well away from the pool is a good choice, not reliant on the lift, first out in a fire/incident (very important as lifts are not safe in a fire), the majority of condos have anti reflective windows (one way view) on the ground floor, easily accessible when you are old (no stairs), guards are generally based on the ground floor, highest water pressure power shower without the hassle, close to amenities/shop/laundry, can be legally used for business premises in a condo, shopping can be dropped off over your balcony rail, condo management office usually just down the hall, windows generally shaded by trees etc so cooler. As to mosquitoes I find they will locate you at any level or they may just like me. Down sides not a good view and cannot think of any others but I'm sure someone will let me know if there are others ????flooding being the obvious one but the majority of condos have underground car parks/basements which will have to fill up first and the majority if not all condos will have basement pumps with a back up pump.

It's just west of the Thepprasit Fresh food market, big market where they sell fruit. South side of the street. Look for the first and only laundromat, ask at the office next door. They'll dry clean if needed.
Hi is this the market next to the collosseum and is the laundromat on the surrounding road.

That's not good. My major question is what is going to happen to people staying in a hotel when it closes? Are they going to ensure a few have to stay open to provide these people with a roof over their heads?
As usual I suspect a Thai calculator used here that adds two zeros or removes two zero depending on the users daily wish ???? I also suspect a new calculator coming on line soon that removes many more zeros ????

Name me one country in the world with a warmer temperature than 23 degrees that is doubling or tripling their cases every day.
The virus thrives in the human body 37Ç the warm country theory is a myth put out by frightened governments that have inefficient or no health systems to deal with the problem. High infection rates in the colder countries is because there are way more international transport hubs to spread the disease. Uk population approx 70mil 29 hubs, Thailand population aprox 70mil 10 hubs.

Our market in the village is packed.
I drove past it yesterday afternoon in my car when I went to an ATM to get some cash. People are everywhere, the market vendors were all cooking fish and Moo Ping and it was just another typical day out as far as I could see.
I have not left my house for seven days and I needed some cash for our delivery drivers. My family has taken it seriously but it seems in our area, no one else has. I am feeling like a fool sitting at home doing what they say is the right thing when everyone else in our area does not seem to give a <deleted>.
Seems to me if this virus is wide spread or going to be wide spread, herd immunity is the way they are going about it because no one gives a stuff in my village. If people suddenly get sick in my area, I won't feel sorry at all as for at this moment, it is still free for all and those of us that are following what the Government is asking, are feeling pretty silly at the moment.
The streets may be empty, the Shopping Malls closed but back to the villages everyone had gone home to, life just goes on like normal. The impact this must be having to the economy must be huge and if the Government has shut things down for 30 days, there must be some reasoning to it. Either the figures do not stack up or we are being left in dark as the costs of this is just too big/high to make any sense of it.
I am really at a loss what to say. A News Paper article from a paper we cannot mention on here said today that Thai people are not taking social distancing seriously. What is to be done? I don't know but it certainly is not making any sense to me at this time.
Do not feel silly and stick to your regime in approx 10-14 days this thing will take off. Forget herd immunity this should not be a choice as in a country with a population of approx. 70 mil this would lead to more than half a million deaths going by the Chinese infection stats. China only prevented this with a complete lockdown and as yet they do not know if containment can be held, hence the riot on the Wohan Hebei bridge yesterday as even the Chinese people do not believe their own government.

Unfortunately I suspect Thailand will be another Wuhan but without the controlling force of the Chinese government to keep the lid on it ???? Temperature keeps getting mentioned stating high weather temps will keep it down but please consider the ideal temp for this virus to propagate is the temp of the human body 37'C and if it originated from an animal this will be slightly higher? The majority of transmission is direct human to human and not off surfaces according to the scientific reports.

100% agreed .... unfortunate . This is what makes the tourist industry down the drain in May . The month of April is already done and over , try fix May , but i think they lost the fight before it started .
I suspect the washout from this will last 24 months easily and as for tourism forget it for probably 5 years that's if it ever gets back to the previous numbers. I would like to think the Thai government had a plan but it appears they do not which means the country is going down the herd immunity path which will lead to + half a million dead before the spread is halted, Bear in mind that this is a very large number and will all happen within 12 months. I feel very sorry for the Thai people being led by donkeys during a very contagious pandemic such as corvid 19 ???? (Herd immunity calc = population * 80% infection rate (China) * 1% fatalities (China) Thailand is also in the middle of a drought which will exasperate any future recovery????

Think about those to whom this government is beholden. There will be no real effort to relieve those affected. They will be expected to "go home to their farms".
We are in the middle of a drought there is no work, gainful employment, or money outside the cities I foresee troubling times ???? The government are not spending money as you need funds to flee with when it all turns turtle.

The death rate is not 43% - that is a false assumption and wrong.
2502 deaths from 31506 equates to 7.9%.
But that is also a false assumption - the 31506 are those very sick and tested - most people get mild symptoms - some none.
China has 3231 deaths from 81116 and that equates to 3.9% - but that is also false assumption for same reasons.
It will only be when they test many people later and sample who has the specific antibodies to then be able to calculate the true infection rate and the true mortality rate. Right now it is the sick and risky that are being tested - it is too early to state the death rate or infection rate. The indicators, based on past viral infections is that it is highly contagious and that the death rate (entire popluation) will be about 1%. But no one knows for sure.
What you are saying is that the death rate from driving on Thailand roads is 43%. You are only measuring those involved in serious accidents and taken to hospital. The actual death rate is much much lower - but still way too high.
I agree with you statement but people should realize that 1% will be a very large number of deaths. Population* Expected 80% infection rate (China) * 1% mortality. I will give you UK figures 70,000,000*80%*1%=560,000. Get your calculator out and work it out from the confines of your very sensible self lockdown. Also bear in mind the majority of these deaths will be in the 60+ group. They are building temporary morgues in London with public visibility to shock people into safe practice as a large number are still in denial that's why the Tube is in semi lockdown. Coming to a town local to you in the very near future ???? I'm not trying to frighten you for fun this is far more serious than government's can admit without turning the stock market and banks into empty shells.

Lots of Russians on Jomtien beach this morning.
As their Russian language newspaper's and internet is saying there is no problem why would they not be acting as normal. It will slowly sink in as they start asking why everything is shutting down. Do not blame them they are just too trusting of their leaders as are Thai's. I know one or two fairly educated Thais and I can guarantee they will be in lockdown or something similar.

Very slowly spreading. This confirms the hot&humid&uv protects from wildfire like spreading. It will spread but not like in northern Italy. Good news for all retirees. Protect yourself and avoid large, tightly packed crowds.
Pandemics do not take any notice of weather or temps the difference in infection rates is minimal. Although I highly agree with your second sentence.

OK, so 0.000047% instead of 0.0000047%
Thais and Russians have a problem with zeros in calculations and regularly miss three or four zeros off the end as they are worth nothing there is no reason to list them. This is unless its tourist arrivals and suddenly all the previous lost zeros are found and added to the end of that calculation. Some people in charge will be held to account eventually as this is running away faster than the money people are offloading their shares before the general population find out their investments have become worthless.

We had a 25 year old male come to visit his parents after being to the boxing stadium at BKK, he even bragged about shaking some superstars hands. All at the boxing stadium were told to report to authorities, this guy went to work for a day and then told his boss he was going to visit his parents.
Was here for 3-4 days eating with his big family as they do in Isaan from the same big plate with their hands and he went out with friends drinking every night, a couple of friends asked him if he got checked because he was bragging that he went to the stadium and he sprayed them with his saliva laughing saying don't be stupid I have nothing.
The police came to his parents house a few days ago with hospital staff who tested him, he tested positive as of last night, this village is in between Udon Thani and Sakon Nakhon, yet I see nothing on the tracker, and my wife is a member of a Thai forum and people have been saying the same thing, e.g. they have people in their villages who have tested positive, now multiply that by x amount of villages around Thailand and you would have far more than 272 reported by the government, but then again we all know that.
Thai math's has a serious problem with zeros they have a tendency to move them from one calculation to another so low infection rates and high arrivals ???? I suspect as you say some in nearly every village now. Stage 3 is irrelevant as it was passed a few months ago.

We are like, we are in the hot climate zone where the virus has less strength, indeed prevention is the best Lock the borders and stop what ever transportation now .
Everybody at home for 3 weeks !No data agrees with that scenario although sunlight creating vitamin D boosts your immune system slightly which may be leading to slightly reduced noticeable infections but at the moment this is only a suggestion. Another suggestion is some of the colder (European/Australasian/Canada countries have a higher government truth score) and this may be causing this data anomaly. Normally I would include the USA in this group but I'm sure you are aware of the reason I do not.

Give it time. Outside of the cities the cases will skyrocket and possibly millions will die. But keep that happy thought.
The population of Thailand is very similar to the UK and the scientific community in the UK are predicting 500,000+ deaths if 80% of the population get infected (1% across the board fatalities according to the Chinese data). There is no cure at the moment and not in the foreseeable future so 80% is a very realistic estimate.

I heard this guy talk about this new research! It looks promising!
"hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are effective antiviral therapeutic treatments for novel coronavirus"
"A recent well controlled clinical study conducted by Didier Raoult M.D/Ph.D, et. al in France has shown that 100% of patients that received a combination of HCQ and Azithromycin tested negative and were virologically cured within 6 days of treatment".
90% of patients tested would have tested negative left to their own devices looking at the Chinese results as the test subjects were in their own words "We're first focusing on a cohort study of healthy medical professionals" The suspected best option is a drug being trialed in the UK applied through an inhaler that was already being trialed for serious lung infections. This drug works by boosting your own immune defense to take you past the crisis zone of an infection which is a fairly new and novel way of thinking in dealing with such infections and works on a viral infection. Notice I say suspected best option, and I'm already taking Quinine in my tonic with a touch of gin so not dismissed the above as I'm 68 and will require a cure. Once the Daily Wail and the Sun realize and make the association that there is Quinine in tonic water they will be fighting in the isles for it ???? If we are all going to get some doses of hydroxychloroquine prepare for some very vivid dreams as I have taken this for Malaria prevention in India and Africa and had unbelievably vivid and very realistic strange dreams whilst taking it. (Edit) I forgot to add this headline should not read TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR THAILAND as we were already past that stage a month or two ago ????

I have tried explaining this to the doom mongers. The virus started in December last year, the borders have remained open until recently, so why isnt Pattaya riddled with this virus already? What you are predicting should already be rife in Pattaya and other highly populated tourist areas. Im not being dismissive or nonchalant, Im trying to view it with an open mind and thought.
I was in a bar last night and I was saying to my friend that all the fans in bars would add to spreading anything around in the air which one would think would increase the rate of infection, but Pattaya isnt even on the radar for this virus as far as I have seen (no STATISTICS from what I have seen). No testing leads to no numbers and we wont go into the lies and loss of face problem.

Viruses do not move they are transported in something else spit, sweat, body fluids and droplets of which a mask will give you a degree of protection, not 100% but still a good barrier.
