  1. I still can't find anything online. Our Muu Ban guards said it happened at 10pm last night. Friends of mine smelled it way out on the third ring road (Samoeng RD) out in Hang Dong. And then Mania said he smelled it on Chang Clang Rd. That's a huge radius. 10 mile radius I figure. Most of Chiang Mai.

  2. I do not understand why you have chosen to remain in the vicinity with your family IF the fumes are as bad as you describe.

They are most certsinly a health hazard and without knowing the quantity or containment of the spill you could be in an explosion risk.

Where would I go? And no one else was evacuating. I have friends that live 10 km away that said they could smell it as well. Yikes. The police didn't seem to know anything about it when I called. And our guards weren't that concerned. So I wasn't sure what to do.

  3. We just woke up (4am) to the smell of our house filled with a very strong gasoline smell. Heading outside it was even stronger. I walked up to our guard shack to investigate and my eyes were watering profusely. According to them there was a massive fuel leak at the airport and they are draining it off using the city's canal system. Must have been a massive amount to stink up the city like this!

  4. Just wet your finger tip, press down, lift up and voila you've picked it up. biggrin.png

We've got piggy banks overflowing with them and rarely put them back in my pocket the next day. Keep the 5 and 10 though but not the 1 baht, 25 satang, 50 satang. 2 baht, never sure what to do with them except write 2 on them like the Thais. wink.png

They have the King's face on them. You don't leave them on the ground. That's likely why she was scrambling to pick them up.

  5. "Gang of 5?" I'm not familiar with that term. Are those the people killing babies inside these clinics? If so then I agree.

Couple of points I would like to make, especially for non-American readers so they do not think all Americans are nuts. I say this in general, not directed at deesquared.

1). Ironically, the Supreme Court itself is surrounded by a "protective zone" where, as a citizen I am not allowed to demonstrate. Another case of U.S. Legilstive, Judicial or Executive government branches excluding themselves from the regulations/laws they enforce.

2). As to "killing babies". If my wife and I find out through medical testing that a being will be born with birth defects, it is not anyone else's religious beliefs that should dictate to us that we must bear the emotional/psychological/financial burden. Nor, I would say, should it be forced for others to bear that burden.

Yes, that is correct. In America you would have the legal right to kill your baby.

  6. For example, you can swim out 40 meters from the beach on Phi Phi Island at dawn and float with a snorkel. For the next two hours you will be surrounded by 20-30 black tipped reef sharks, each one 2 meters long, as they slowly come in, check you out, and then swim away.

That would be really silly to assume they won't attack. They will.

    No, they won't.

Thanks for the bio sheet. The point?

  8. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

But the risk really is 0%.

What a ridiculous statement to make when these (snack size) children are sitting on reptiles, whose natural instinct it is to kill and eat other living animals.

Statistically it IS 0%. So, not a ridiculous statement at all. Are the kids in danger from being eaten by Chinchos as well? Because there have also been 0 attacks from them.

  9. I bring my tourist friends and guests to this exact camp all the time. I've been there over a dozen times. They let anyone come and sit on the crocs at the end of the show. I've done it myself. Thousands of tourists have done it without a single incident. Now, would I let my kid sit on the croc? No way. And the school was out of line making that decision for the parents. But the risk really is 0%.

  10. Klaimor

Seriously?! This guy is asking a serious question and you choose to give him this info that could put his future child in danger? Grow up.

    What is your problem?

What is wrong with my info? It's a hospital that delivers a couple of hundred babies a year but I guess you did not know that or were you simply trolling?

If you were being serious, then I apologize. I could share lots of horror stories from that establishment but I won't get into it. I'll just join the others who have posted here in suggesting the OP stick with RAM or Sripat and not Klaimor.
