Chiang Mai has a large expat comunity, granted. But this has no relevence to Chiang Mai suk nit! Thank you for sharing but please share in a more relelvent forum.

He probably meant in front of Soi 2, near the temple? There is no square or easy place to park in front of Loi Kroh Soi 1.
Violent muggings do happen. Not a lot, but they do happen. It's sometimes a single gang responsible for several muggings, until they're caught and then locked up. Probably won't hurt to be a little careful the coming days/weeks.
And I thought you had been here a 'long' time!

yes, Dave is a true gent

So some posts are deleted that dare to criticise....mmmm work that out.
I have frequented Dukes a number of times over 6 years and the service was invariable crap and got worse.
Strange. I think the service is well above average. Also the lady owner (owner's wife?) is very friendly and lovely to chat with.
With two kids we're not going out for dinner as much as we used to, but Duke's remains a very reliable choice for those times that we do. And they're very kid-friendly.
Are we talking kids as in babies or youngsters? I'm just wondering because I know some restaurants aren't too keen on babies because of the noise and if they eat the wrong thing, the smell! 555!

I fail to see how this problem is specific to Chiang Mai. It sounds like the OP has more of a cultural issue that a Chiang Mai issue. Immerse yourself a little more in Thai culture, rather than building a bloody 4 sided concrete wall around yourself to keep it out! Move to General forum dee-gwar. You will get more replies.

I bloody love a good coffee in the morning
but nevermind where to find a flat white, mind where to find the big 'search' button! There is already a thread about this!
I request a merge!

Rest in peace. You and your fantastic pasta sauce will be sorely missed.

Oh sorry I thought you were just after TV shows. I don't think Dave is in to THAT kind of Star Trekking. Paagay's more your man.
Good luck.

There was a previous post about these!
Bloody love them!

Rain
in Chiang Mai
I got sprayed by the flower watering machines while riding over the Ping River bridge. Does that count?
No it doesn't and you should be more careful as the water from the 'flower watering machines' may have contained number 16.

Squashed grilled banana? Try riding a motorbike to Mae Sai next month! 555!

Rain
in Chiang Mai
Not a blinking drop in my neck of the woods.
I counted well over 50 drops falling over 5-10 seconds on the ground at our house but they did not join up to make even a decent mini puddle! Perhaps the strong wind blew it to Burma.
That's what I call a bloody weather report! Sud yort!

I have a good collection of shows from the uk but sadly no bloody Star Trek or Swap Meet. I know Dave is a huge Star Trek fan, I'm sure he would be happy to help you out. Swap Meet may be more difficult to find. I've never heard of it. Did you mean Swap Meat http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1552579/?

I'm equally at home on a western toilet as I am upon the local Asian squat toilet. When visiting western countries I do miss the bum showers though. For that reason I sympathise with the OP. Not having the right toilet equipment can drive one potty! 555!

I fail to see how this relates to Chiang Mai! Last time I checked 'online' isn't in Chiang Mai.

"farrang food I usually turn to the Red Lion to fill my hole though this dukes burger bar is fast become a bit of a favourite."
3 mistakes in here; may I advise not to mix up the languages; its screws around with one's intelligence.
Probably an English teacher.
I agree that Dukes is quite good.
555 She definately acts like one!
Although not the cheapest, the Dukes does represent good quality food. I can appriciate this must be difficult to maintain in a francise. As I said before, hopefully this will sort out over time as I know David is very passionate about his product and has worked hard to build the Dukes name up.

agreed.

Passingas, you normally need at least 50 posts to receive help here, but I'll help you anyway. Two of the best shops are actually quite close to each other. As you leave town on Suppan Narrarat (the large bridge at the end of Tha Pae road) turn left at the second set of fai dangs (traffic lights) after the bridge. There are two shops on the right a couple of hundred meters after the turn. If I remember correctly the two metal shops are less than 100 meters apart. They have many kinds of metal mak mak. If they don't have what your after they would know somewhere else that would.

Most of the american farrangs here are missionaries, friends of the missionaries or fat.
Nice troll, expatmakmak.
Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?
For your information, nobody pissed in my cornflakes or farted in my jok!
I had a run in with some missionaries on the weekend that got me riled!

Yes I've been around a lot long than four months!
I was too active on another message board to spend much time here thank you very much! In fact I used to be a moderator and a bloody good one.
I know how hard and stressful it is being a moderator, I was forced to walk from my last posting as a moderator. Not happy memories mak mak!
So I want the moderators to know that I know just how difficult their jobs are.

Sound bloody aroi mak mak! Looking forward to complimenting the freezer with a few. Ready made food, of any kind, is a wise preparation for any expat, especially during Songkran!
