  1. there are only 3 routes out of swampy under supervision by the transport company, and you can find the schedule here: http://home.transport.co.th/en/bus-schedule/251-time-table-suvarnabhumi.html

always the better bet is to go to morchit and ask around for busses. many different bus operators on different routes.

If you want to take the train, you can check the schedule on this website: http://www.railway.co.th/checktime/checktime.asp?lenguage=Eng

keep in mind the stations are not in alphabetcal order.

thailands state railway does have an online booking facillity

  2. If you fancy having two sim cards, you should check the chinese market, they were the first, and they are still the best when it comes to multi sim mobiles. i suggest you buy from aliexpress as it is a subsidiary of alibaba.com and they offer buyer protection etc. (i dont get any money for this recommendation)

have a look at http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/HK-Post-Freeshipping-STAR-NEW-3G-Phone-i9220-MTK6575-Android-4-0-3-512MB-4GB-5/317454_558038436.html for exampel, an adroid 4.0 full 2 sim mobile. or you maybe fancy those outdoor phones ? http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-ZTC-007.html?SearchText=ZTC%2B007&CatId=5090301&SortType=total_tranpro3_desc&SortType=y

  3. At around 9pm there is a bus going to nong khai and one to udon thani. http://home.transport.co.th/en/bus-schedule/251-time-table-suvarnabhumi.html

i would say its going past korat and you might have to switch the bus there.

you best bet is always to go to morchit. if you havnt done before. tell the taxi ladys at BKK you want to go to isaan - so the driver will drop you off at the top floor. NCA or nakhon chai air is booth number 16. there different companies going to burirum, so if nca has no free place, booth number 25 or 24 will also sell you a ticket (but for a different bus).

  4. In Europe i used two different ways to solve this problem.

Easiest way: get a stand for a sunscreen, one where you can put some stones in it, mount your dish to this. its easy and cheap, but you will have problems when the wind gets a bit high.

As you said you have a rail i would recommend to use this: 00044272awd.jpg

In europe you can buy it at amazon, you might find something like this in shops like thaiwatsadu.

  5. When I go to my travel agent to book a flight, or to the Etihad website, I don't/can't choose which fare class I'm buying. So how would I be able to buy a fare which attracts 100%? Is it based on price or what? I'd been hoping that my next trip to BKK in June would give me enough miles for an upgrade to Business on the following trip. Now it seems not.

It's based on price. the Etihad website shows you how many miles you would earn. I am a bit pissed, but in the end it was to good, getting 100% of miles regardless of your fare paid.

  6. Is it not a problem to get from mo chit to suvarnaboom by taxi?

I have monitored the internet for the last week as i have to travel from swampy to morchit at saturday morning. So far there should be no problem to get there by taxi, but situation might change. A good page for this is http://www.thaitravelblogs.com/2011/10/essential-thaiflood-information-for-foreign-tourists-in-thailand/ and the usal suspects of bangkok post online, the nation and thai visa http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/18-thailand-news/

  7. Hello asanee,

i am not sure that NCA or any other bus company drives from swampy directly to isaan esp buri rum. I was just told that it would be so, and as i could not find any information i thought i give it a try and ask in this forum as there as alot of experience here :)

That Morchit 2 might be moving to swampy is a different story for me, for now i have a bus ticket to travel from Morchit2 to Buri Rum. As no oe came up with any informations i think the "information" given to me was wrong and i have to go to Morchit2 for my bus :)

Thx, for clearing up that there is no such bus service :)

  8. Hello,

i was told that NCA has Buses going from BKK Airport to the north east (esp Burirum Province). As my Thai is some kind of bad i cant check their website for informations. As anyone any informations about this ?

As fall back i have a bus ticket from Morchit2 with the government bus but if possible i would like to go the easier way from the Airport to the north east directly :)

thx in advance for any help of informations.
