Nobody is suggesting to let it spread unchecked, there are several measures in place and need to be widend, e.g. testing.
On the other hand, a nightly curfew is nonsense, at least in this stadium the country is right now. The same applies to going to the beach or to the golf course, as long as you avoid other people.
Stay safe and wash your hands.

Closing the golf courses in Thailand is not appropriate in my view. One of several overshooting measures taken by the people in charge.

Can someone please explain to me how picking up food and heading to a park or the beach with my wife to have a picnic is a health threat, any sort of hazard, or why it should be banned? Has anyone actually thought these "additional rules" through, or is this simply more inane nonsense from an army thirsty for power?
This is not the Zombie apocalypse. And nine deaths nationwide do not warrant such nonsense. That is less than the daily pedestrian death toll in Bangkok.
I completely agree with you, I just do not get it why obviously so many posters here belong to the "shut it all down" and "why did not they do it earlier"-brigade?

My personal life is only a little affected: I cannot go to restaurants, bars, massage, I cannot play golf or even go to the driving range, which becomes boring after a week. I can handle that, no problem.
Thanks god (ore whoever) that Thailands infection rates are very low. With 106 daily new cases of infection and a total of 6 deads, a real thread to the country is simply not existing. Every year, there are about 900'000 people who pass away. Every month, there are about 2'000 people who die on the streets. As long as there are not tenthousends of deads of this virus, it is statistically irrelevant.
I approve some measures taken to hold the spread of the virus back, but the total lockdown is overshooting the problem.
What I really am concerned about is the economy and the endless spending by the countrys. All the signs point to a huge and possible too long contraction of the economy and an unseen growth of debt by states, companies and private persons. The damage caused to all of us is unprecedented.

Went back to Casa Espana a few nights ago.
For starter, had the tomato bread and garlic prawns, excellent.
Shared a paella for mains and was good. The charred rice around the edges and stuck to the bottom really appealed to the missus-sticky rice style.
Cant remember the bill but I did consider it relatively cheap.
Will return to complete the Tapas menu and missus wants to sample the Thai menu.
As can be seen from second photo, adequate olive oil with the bread dish ( I did forget to take my own, and was not required anyway)
I also tried Casa Espana a week ago. I had the garlic prawns and spanish style potatoes with an egg. It was average at best. Will not go again.
I also do not like the smallish chairs and benches, it is not comfortable.

Might be even older than that (81). An eye opening read tell you all you need to know about Italy and why what happened there will NOT happen in Thailand no matter what: https://swprs.org/a-swiss-doctor-on-covid-19/
The panic needs to stop. Just ride it out until there's herd immunity - that's the only real option.
Thanks for the link, interesting read. A little bit strange is the fact that the document comes from "a swiss doctor", but it does not mention a name anywhere.

It probably means, he finished Mattayom 3 (after attending Kindergarden, Primary 1 - 6, and Mattayom 1 -3), e.g. the obligatory part of school. He can continue with another 3 years, Mattayom 4 - 6, and then go to University.

Abusive and nasty? You should get out more!
I certainly should go out more, but this is off topic.
If you disagree with anything here, try to substaniate your reasoning. With your flippant responses, you are just making a clown of yourself.

There is no reason to get abusive and nasty. He told you his arguments, and you may disagree.

The frequent flyer cards now are getting to the stage where they are so poorly rewarded, you might as well just look for the best flying deal as and when it comes with any respectable airline and ditch any loyalty.
+ 1. This is what I am doing since years. The collected miles are only worth anything for me if I can book an economy ticket and then upgrade it to business class. This is getting unbelievable difficult. Last time, it was a real hassle with Finnair, with the back flight only confirmed 2 days before the flight day.
I had many flights with Finnair to Europe and back, but this year I will be using Oman and Emirates, because they offered reasonable business class tarifs.
To be fair, you have to confess that the competion in the airline business usually is very big, and ticket prices overall pretty low.
So often when you buy a cheap economy ticket, you get what you pay for.

Go to Lazada online-shop and look with SK Auto Service. They provide very cheap prices and free delivery.

Bloomberg, a privately owned company makes about 10 billion a year. With 200 working days in a year, that's 50 million a day. Bloomberg, personally, makes 0 dollars a year since he has no salary...
Bloomberg L.P. does not at all earn 10 billion a year. That is the revenue. try again.

Here we go again: they need 8 officers to check and arrest and old quiet fart, where 2 officers should be the norm and sufficient. Imagine how productive this country could be if they learn to organize themself.

Every single house on Phuket with a falang as owner or sponsor should be worth 2 or more million baht, so is a "multi million baht house", don't you think that?
It also amazes me when I read some real estate adds, and a better shack with a small swimming pool becomes a "pool villa".

One more story shows how broken this society is: A teacher who abuses several students, appearently on a regular basis, a criminal who should be sentenced to several years of imprisonment, is transferred to an inactive post and his teaching license has been suspended. And the same happens to criminal politicians, criminal military and civil officers and monks.
And nobody cries out, demands they get sacked immediately, get their pension cut off, and of course get a criminal sentence according to the law.

It may be an exaggerated statement, but to me it almost seems that THAI has never heard anything about yield management. When I book a flight, THAI - in most cases - is not only more expensive, but way off the average price of this specific flight. I cannot see anybody booking such an overpriced flight. I wonder how they fill up their planes.

On Soi Diana, there are 2 excellent massage shops right next to each other: Nemo and Eden.
Both have a huge turnover, since they have many massage ladies and many (regular) customers. I usually chose the foot+oil massage special at Nemos, 1+1 hour, for 290 Baht + 200 Baht tip. Never had a bad massage there.

Option 2 and 3 are not good ideas, as you perfectly know.
People who are succesfull self-employed must have certain attidudes, and per your description your sister in law does not have them. Dont cause yourself a headeache, and let it go.

No, they definitely do not make in difficult on purpose. They cannot do better. If it comes better, it is an exemption (to the rule).
It is a mixture of ignorance, incompetence, unconcern. It takes decades to change this. Singapore is not comparable to Thailand, its a differend mindset, anchored deeply in their gens. So live with it and adapt.

Well, if you want it cheaper, then you can do it all by yourself - like 99 % of the people do.
The process for foreigners has become more complicated and bureaucratic, so it takes more time than in the past, and of course it is also dependend of your nationality. If you have time and strong nerves, do it by yourself, but give it some months.

If the elite would have bought foreign currency in massive amounts (against selling thai baht) in the past, the thai baht would have dropped - which has not happend.
So your statement does not make much sense.

Thailand to announce nationwide curfew starting Friday

Could you elaborate on the good decisions, please?
Enough testing? Distribution of free masks? Improve the statistics? Enlarge the hospital facilities with ICU? Or implement overshooting measures and kill the rest of life in the economy?
