Why would anyone sue? Would they sue Thailand or some other country?Short sighted and sad
Sue? Would make it very difficult, for all the visa runners. They had to go to Malaysia, instead of to to Burma, Laos, Kambodia, for another entry stamp.

No anticipation. No defensive driving. Serious accident. Is it just me or do the cars here just mangle beyond belief when they have accidents? I never recall such destroyed cars back home unless it was a really high speed accident. Even slower speed accidents usually total the vehicle.

Would the crims hear the BIBs here moaning as they were coming?Has no one considered the serious implications for crime fighting? (Stop giggling at the back!) With all those beads rattling in BiB dicks, crims will have time to get away, because they will always here the BIBs coming.

Why do men wear ribbed condoms? What is the advantage for : injected paraffin gel into their genitals, and those that had their genitals implanted with small beads. This type of self-mutilation can lead to deformities and other health risks. So much so that a few years back the Thai Health Ministry had to issue a warning against doing this. “Injecting olive oil or any liquid into penises is extremely risky,” Chatri Banchuin
Why would someone do this?

Without driver education courses, public service announcements, and strict licensing requirements the general population is ignorant of the inherent dangers of "no helmet," "no seat belts," "no child safety seats," "no turn signal," etc.Why does it seem that Thai parents are more concerned to teach their children to fear ghosts than to fear the dangers of unsafe driving? Seems every Thai I know is afraid of ghosts but none have any concern with driving around with no helmets, safety belts, safety car seats for young children. This has never made any sense to me.
Could it be the childlike nature of the (uneducated?) Thai mentality? My minimally-educated (by her own choice) Thai GF typically worries about the wrong threats and they even go beyond the fear of ghosts. Anyway, while doing a simple search of ghosts in Thai culture, ran across this site with interesting articles on Thai ghosts:

Back on-topic, does anyone who knows that road can tell us if there is some kind of barrier (such as a 1- meter-high, corrugated metal barrier) on the traffic island that the car jumped?
On a visa run coming down from Laos on a (the?) major freeway, I noticed that the only thing separating northbound/southbound lanes was a shallow gully without any barriers or a wide expanse. I also noticed that the van driver was trying to maintain 120k KPH. I bailed at the next rest stop and ended up hitching a ride with a much more sedate traveling tire salesman and taking a NCA bus from Kohn Kaen to Bangkok. Overreacted? Maybe. But I sure love those NCA buses now.
My GF uses NCA exclusively now because she was recently on a non-NCA bus from Si Sa Ket that went off the road and rolled on it's side giving her severe body bruises. She had her son with her and they were both very lucky to not have severe injuries. The driver probably fell asleep.

Maybe she was putting on her make-up.Very sad, yet again. I wonder if she was also on the phone or texting to her friends that she was going to be late? The amount of people, thai and farang, on phones, reading, writing on them, going round corners, going fast, often wobling or out of lane is crazy. I know in the uk at the scene of accidents the first thing (after the emergency stuff i guess) the cops do is check if the drivers were using phones as it's such a common cause of accidents. Folk here seem to think it's cool. It's not, it's stupid.

Why don't you imagine they were 100% sober?Assuming the general selfishness arround here, the 100k bail, and the 2 hours later "turning in".
70km/h + rain = 100% Guilty (and the driver did know that hopefully)
All this is already a big step in the right direction.
70k is only 43 mph, not knowing how bad the rain was, hards to say,
but 43mph doesn't sound excessive normally.
At 4am don't imagine the ladies were 100% sobre and aware.
Not saying blame the vicim here, just saying hang em high doesn't always ring true.
2 hours later is not too long a wait for here, just long enough not to be killed by an enraged mob.
We can't think in terms of our culture since it certainly isn't.
Guilty, most likely.Showing contrition, most likely, more lenient sentence because of this, most likely too.
But he will never forget he's killed a young lady like this.

And, just think about all the new customers who will be nearer to the new location!Terrible airport in a terrible area, and now Air Asia are moving all operations to DMK. Now instead of being only 1 1/2 hours from the airport I am 3 hours from the airport. Thanks AirAsia, thanks Don Muang, you've just lost a good customer.

Against all airlines rules to give out aspirin.I feel this is not a good decision. The job of a flight attendant is demanding and requires high energy. I've seen with so many USA airlines how poor the service is with the older attendants.
I agree. Especially on the American airlines, the attendants all seem bitter and tired. Even the young male ones are already bitter and sullen. On a recent United Airlines flight, I was suffering from a migraine, and felt about to puke, when I asked them for an aspirin, and was told they didn't have any. I know they are not doctors or nurses, but I don't think it would kill them to dispense an aspirin.

Then on what basis would you handle the bidding process?Recently United Airlines Ron Akana retired at the age of 83, I personally would have loved to have flown a sector with him. I think the bidding process based on seniority is out of date, that's why you end up with a very senior crew especially on long haul flights, give me a balance of experience & gender and I'm happy.

Turkey or condor?Hooray for old people!
Maybe this will set a precedent against age discrimination in other fields.
I'd rather have a young fit bird serving me coffee if I was honest. But the most important things for me is that they know what they're doing and I'm as safe as possible.

Why don't you want to put it in writing? What kind of punishment can You give a bastard like this? I have a suggestion but I don't want to put it in writing..but I'm sure most members can read beetween the lines and understand what I mean.. Take care young lady and get well soon...

What makes you feel that he did not have unconditional love as a child?
Can't agree more. Call me old fashioned as well. Thats why I have taken my boy out of Thailand now he is at school age. I definitely do not want him growing up as a "woman"I taught at a Thai U for several months. In each of my seven classes, there was at least one katoy, some classes had two, one had three. I see an increasing number of young 'boys' being influenced by older kids / pee chai / TV shows, etc, and becoming effeminate. Thailand must certainly be the 'hub of effeminate men.' I'd estimate over 10% of school boys are headed that direction. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't think it's a good trend, or even liberating.
Maybe just coincidence; but every Thai college gal who screws around for extra income, has a katoy acting as an agent. Actually, it's not coincidence, but rather a natural role for effeminate men to fill.
Why so glum? He might meet an older foreigner and find everlasting happiness.
The gentleman could be a surrogate father and provide the unconditional love that he did not have as a child.

Do you know where I can get info on these girls?
I'm quite serious. I'd love to meat a few.

Do I understand that if you as a young boy hung out with older effeminate guys that you would have become effeminate yourself?I taught at a Thai U for several months. If, as you say, it is "a natural role for effeminate men to fill" (being a pimp) then why is this not prevalent in other countries?I taught at a Thai U for several months. Thailand has public liability insurance?Good on the Future Park for acting as quick as they have, if they have, to fix the problems and offer to cover all medical costs.
Hope that is not an empty promise.
I believe that the actual medical costs/compensation would be covered by public liability insurance, so not actually by Future Park but a good public relations exercise by management claiming they will pay.

Thailand has building inspectors?I see these dangerous pinch points at many malls, not to mention the ignored fire safety hazards, etc..
Where was the building inspector, job supervisor when this escalator was installed, approved & paid for I wonder?

And, how would the "young kid" get a good hi-tech prosthetic leg" in Thailand? Please clarify.A truly selfish and treacherous deed. A bomb trap has no selection, whoever or whatever is first to get near. A childhood friend lost most of his left hand to a lighter bomb, it was intended for a woman from a jilted boyfriend. Never caught or punished. I hope this ratass gets caught and severely punished. My friend had incredible strength in the little finger and thumb left over, and utilized it as an asset to give a spock vulcun pinch to drop you to your knees.
I hope the young kid recovers and gets a hold of a good hi-tech prosthetic leg and has the will power to get on with life again!

Please clarify what "elf and safety" is. Sounds a bit fairy tale-ish to me.This is why escalators usually have a sign saying that children should be accompanied by an adult.
Well. Wait for it. Considering how old future park is, i wouldn't be surprised if the guards on tgd escalator were missing or some other problem.
Regardless of the age of Future Park, the escalators are all in good condition and I have rarely seen a "guard" around them. Normally people riding on these people movers don't allow their hair to come in contact with the moving steps. This was a rare accident, sad indeed, but IMHO hardly negligence on the part of F.P. I hope she recovers soon.
As i said lets see.
Walking around most shopping centres u can find pinch points and gaps betwesn railings that would be eliminated by elf and safety. One kid broke an arm going up an escalator here because of hiw tge escalator hand rail moved passes tge solid balustrade. I noticed the day the place opened.
Here these issues are eliminated by Darwinism.

What is your question, please?I’m terribly offended when they drop “village” and only call me “farang”.
Come on already, their country, their language, their customs and their rules. They can call me anything they want but people who know me, always use my name. That includes the staff at Starbucks, even. I have questions about those who claim to be disrespected by Thais.

Only for boarders at the borders? Or, others, too?Why is this post still open I wonder? No solid evidence about this "corruption" and I'm sure it has been happening at boarders everywhere.

Why can't you prosecute on hearsay in Thailand? So you get 3 warnings then prosecuted (fined) on the 4th offence. Sounds ok in theory but actually charging someone may be more difficult. 4 people ring the hotline and complain about a particular driver and he is issued a fine fair enough. What happens if that driver elects to fight the fine in court? The prosecution will then need all 4 complainants to make a statement and actually give evidence in court as to his identity. You can't prosecute on hearsay and will they all be willing to give evidence against a member of the taxi mafia?
off topic -
Taxi drivers in Melbourne fight every penalty notice they recieve. In court the magistrate doesn't have the power to take demerit points so even if they lose they pay the fine, they get a history recorded which you don't with a penalty notice and keep thier points thus keep thier licence.
