What's great is there are so many fine dentists in CM. Mine is by on Thapae rd by the moat.
CM dental4u (google) is at least as good as any I had in the USA. If a filling is +/- 100 baht, well, c'mon.
They have done some very complicated stuff for me with excellent results. e.g. implant with bone graft,
sinus lift, crown. Perfect.
all the same dentists from Elite!

buy at home.

i love this airline. have flown AA perhaps 75 flights - some for free. never a single problem.

you need to dance around the actual name of the facility, like "the place near Tesco Super Highway", or "the place near C.M. Gate", etc.
use the lawyer in you....

connda, the problem was the cost of my order. Anything over $40 is discounted but my order was less with the loyalty reward subtracted. All my previous orders, with discounts, were more than $40 so I always had the reduced shipping price. I did write to iHerb, mentioning that their promotion can be more of a hindrance than reward when discount increases shipping costs and suggested that customers have the option to reject the reward. But for now I'm waiting for my loyalty reward to expire so I can place the order. I assume that everyone who has replied to this topic has had orders over $40.
i ordered something for about US $19.00 and the shipping cost for US $4.00. sounds like something is not right on your account. shipping to Thailand is a flat US $4.00 for up to 2 Kg. loyalty reward or whatever has nothing to do with it.

Empress is horrible and only an idiot who enjoys being ripped off would use Elite..
i use Elite and don't consider them a rip off. almost all the patients are Thais and the quality of dental work is high and pain free.

forum sponsor - or perhaps used to be? great company, been doing business with them 10 years. bought a great travel insurance policy from them last year that paid actual cost for everything to the USA. they have several travel policies.
-
i ordered yesterday. shipping cost for 2 Kg. was USD $4.00. nothing has changed.

they all have it but it is not very good. i bought Deoxit Gold on-line. went through the post just fine.

Went there this evening, turns out it's a Big C Market, so between the small store and really big store and all you need to know is that it's a full blown supermarket with everything you need, be it they had a limited range of cheese
Given the price difference between Big C and Rimping we'll be doing most of our shopping there from now on, even a 4 pack of Chang was 117 baht vs 140 baht at 7-Eleven
so many people post inaccurate information. there is not a big price difference between Rimping and Big C. in fact many items are cheaper at Rimping than Big C., just like many things are cheaper at Rimping compared to Lotus. but there are some things cheaper at Big C, and that same item may be more or less at Lotus... basically it's a wash, prices are all very similar.

sounds exciting...a small Big C is opening.....party time...

# 4 Send somebody to a failed mall on his holiday?
i don't mind the Prom myself, but i live here and know what to expect. i also would not recommend the Prom to a visitor as it could be quite depressing to be around a failed mall. in the last 3 weeks, 3 more shops have closed up on the 2nd Floor Building A near Chi Chang, and every shop on the 1st Floor Building B, across from the restaurants are now out of business.

good Middle East restaurants? head over to Sukhumvit soi 3, get off BTS Nana exit, pick any one of them. you won't find anything like that here, not even close. Indian - Taj Mahal is not bad, probably the best here.
-
fairly certain there is a large branch on Charoen Muang - been there a while. always packed with Chinese.
-
-
if it's one of those "Big C mini" that are popping up all over, don't even bother with it. they are nothing more than a 7-Eleven type shop.
-
Dean, sounds like a difficult trip. why didn't you book Korean Air LAX-CNX?? absolute comfort all the way, including free showers and free small room in the Airport in Seoul to catch a few hours of sleep if needed? Korean Air is an excellent airline.

+1 for Chiang Puak Driving School.
Excellent..
i'm fairly certain that is the same school my wife went to also - quite a few years ago. at least it was on Chang Phueak and looked like it had been there forever, even then. they were good. the instructor even accompanied her to the motor vehicle office and made certain she passed, which she did. she then went out and bought a very nice car which was never driven and sat outside covered for about 5 years. she had a license but could not drive! one day she got up and and took my car out for about 8 hours (with a friend), practicing at places like Promenada, Sansai park, and i forget where else. she did the same thing the next day. by day 3 she was a very competent driver and had her car towed to the shop, changed oil, new battery, etc. and has been driving every day since.

On Suthep Road, west of canal road, before the food stalls start setting up late afternoon... is a guy who sells boxes of all sizes.
He is set up on the sidewalk. Boxes are generally used but very good condition. Perfect for moving.
he also charges about 200% more than anywhere else for (used) boxes!

Not everyone from Switzerland are from Zurich and Danny was not from Zurich. Why don't you people stop and realize a man's life has been taken. He had family and friends that loved him dearly. We will all have a hole in our lives where Danny is now missing. He was a gentle soul, kind in his manners, loved to cook, loved to read, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved Thailand and moved there for a more simplistic life because that is who Danny was. He loved the Thai people and often raved about how amazing it was to live there. And I am NOT sure why the media has his name incorrect!! It is not Danny Rudolf!! His name was Danny Straub. And if they are going simply on what that will was stating, then it is proof he signed it with the wrong last name to debunk the will and leave some kind of clue for those behind.
excellent observation!
truly sorry about the loss of your friend.

This is a cut and paste. I've never been there.....
There is a carton factory a five minute walk from the Phra Khanong BTS station that manufactures very sturdy cartons and sells them for a reasonable price.
Directions/BTS Go to Phra Khanong BTS and use exit #3. At the base of stairs walk in the direction of traffic 100 meters and turn left onto Soi 69 (Family Mart) Walk 100 meters and take first right. Shop is about 70 meters on the right side; you will see stacks of cartons. Closed Sundays.
that's useless in C.M. but good to know in BKK.

Thank you - I will look.
What about Kamthieng?
Kamthieng does have some locally made large pots for lotus, etc. in mostly solid colors. i have not seen any other high-quality Chinese imports like the guy at Meechok had, however. i assume the Chinese motif is part of your decorating scheme?

i looked around the back parking lot a while ago this evening. hard to know if he is still there since it was the walking street market tonight and very, very busy with many cars. but his goods were always visible and under the watch of a security guard if he wasn't there. i didn't see his stuff on display. don't know for 100% certain but my guess is he is gone after many years.
New Dentist Needed
in Chiang Mai
Posted
are Dr.'s Tuen-aree and/or Turen the owner(s)? just curious as all of the other dentists listed on their website practice at elite, dental4u, dentalworld, while Dr. Tuen-aree also has a practice in Silom, Bangkok.
i would also be curious to know how much the same dentists from Elite charge at the other 2 clinics. does anyone know if there is a big difference in price from clinic to clinic?
