Ripstanley picked Essendon and moved to outright second
just 1 behind grannysapples. Rip also has a better percentage.
Will Mr Smith sleep ok tonight or will he be tossing and turning?
Will Ron make a late charge?
Looks as if there is one fitty fitty game tomorrow being the Hawks
versus Sydney.
We know Rip always picks Sydney.
Will Buddy come up?
Any other upsets on the horizon for tomorrow?
Freo a sneaky against Collingwood?
I hope so.
Good luck guys.
Stay tuned...…..
<deleted> Port Adelaide! Christ alive! Should've known better...
I reckon the Lions are a sneaky against your boys Will. Don't know if the Dockers will come back from that belting last weekend, they were beaten well beyond submission and were pushing Stockholm Syndrome levels.
Holding onto that 1 point pretty tightly ?- 4

Kieshu Honda wont make it to Sydney to start his first game in an FA cup game.....just shy of a weeks training the 3 million dollar Victory gun will be saved for the regular season...
Geez Alex you might wanna have a chat to management at the Victory, losing to a lowly NSL side in the FA Cup... Pretty embarrassing...

I did win the tipping lifetimes ago it seems now.
Normally don't do to much, have been pretty much a part timer since arriving in Thailand at the tender age of 33.
Have seen to many good people fall off the perch close to normal retirement or just after.
I'm not taking that chance?
Speaking of working on the fantasy team,i pretty much had a plan from just before the byes knowing who i needed with the amount of trades left till the end(missed one weeks worth with crappy internet in Laos)so i will still have 100K left i cant spend.
One good thing was Anderson taking out Doodee so i know Alex you have one forced trade.
Bit of scribble from this morning if you can decipher it?
I'd look to ditch either Macmillan, Goldstein or Wingard... Actually I'd definitely ditch Wingard... Bringing in Lloyd from the Swans (if you've got the cash to splash), Gawn or Martin, and maybe Heeney or Buddy...

Lance Franklin might be AFL’s greatest player.
Lance Franklin
Former colleague Mike Sheahan’s love for Wayne Carey was boundless. Sheahan had seen all footy from the 1970s to now and when Wayne Carey was at the top of his game in the mid to late 1990s, Sheahan declared Carey the best player he had seen — over Leigh Matthews, Malcolm Blight, Jason Dunstall, Tony Lockett, Gazza Snr and Jnr. But the love affair ended on Friday. Sheahan said Franklin was his new No.1 and, befittingly, Franklin produced a knockout performance on Saturday night, kicking five goals to lead the Swans to victory over the Giants. Sheahan is not the first commentator to rate Franklin above Carey, but this was different. This was a football divorce.
My introduction to footy was quite late by comparison, having grown up in the heart of Rugby League country but I was lucky enough to have watched both Plugger (who as it turned out later in life, would become my neighbor) and Carey play. I would say in terms of the complete package, Bud is definitely on top in terms of ability. Not sure he'll break Plugger's goal kicking record, he's going to need a few more tons over the journey to do it.
Bud's an excitement machine and a human pokie machine (he just pays out for the Swans year after year) and speaking of Sheahan, I look forward to Bud's episode of Open Mike, if he's still alive when Bud finishes up to see him ask about the Coup de Sydney and how close Bud came to being a Giant.

cheers mate... we've certainly had our battles and banter over the years...
Don't leave any money in the piggy bank this week against FJ though.. You 2 have certainly been the teams to beat after the bye rounds...

If Will’s boys rock up to the Gabba with the same mentality as our boys did against Gold Coast, it’ll happen.
Same goes for the Pies against the Dockers.

Well done Alex knocking me off. Was always going to be tough assignment playing a man down but that’s the way tom yum boils sometimes.
We all know the Tipping is where the big dance is though, so there’s that hahaha
There’s some genuine 50/50’s next next week that’s for sure..

Glad I changed my tip and backed the boys in! Wasn't pretty, but then again, we've never played a particularly pretty style of footy.

Cotchin ruled out of tomorrow night's clash... Perhaps Stud wasn't seeing things ?

Well gangsters
According to the bookies, this round is pretty cut and dried.
But, we always seem to have an upset or 2.
Will Grant and Ron play safe and pick the favourites?
Will some of the others pick a few roughies to bridge the gap?
Another interesting round.
Hmmm... I haven't given this round much thought yet to be honest... Usually not confirming much until the teams drop later in the afternoon... At first glance, there's probably 4 games that could go either way and that would be enough to tip the balance of power I reckon..
Hearing murmurs around the cheeseboards and charcuterie platter brigade that a certain prized Ruckman has taken to the Buddy Franklin training regime this week, would be a huge out for them if the murmur proves to be a bit more serious.

Nanna Gerrard on AFL 360 last night saying 12 weeks would be sufficient.
I think 7 is appropriate, leaves him out for enough games if the Eagles are good enough to make the big dance.
And 8 it is..

It's a witch hunt.
AFL lawyer at the tribunal asking for between 8 to 12 weeks.
Jeremy Cameron (whose got form) got 5 for elbowing a bloke to the head.
Knocked him out and he had bleeding on the brain.
I reckon 6 to 7 is fair.

How many weeks for Gaffs punch?
6?
Cameron got 5 for knocking Harris-Taylor out, Gaff’s brain fart looked worse, no doubt it’ll be straight to the tribunal. I’m thinking we won’t be seeing Gaff until at best round 1 next year, at worst, well that’ll depend where Will’s boys end up.. 7-8 weeks wouldn’t be out of the equation.
It’s in the ‘Hall-Staker’ bracket for mind..

one wonders that if channel 9 had the rights would we see ‘hot spot’ deployed for this very purpose of deciding whether or not the ball hit the post.

I just hope your boys can do WC a favour by beating Collingwood.
It'll be a big ask this week, but the injection of Alex Johnson, might just be the catalyst for us to put in a big time performance worthy of such a great comeback story!

Plenty of each way bets to be had this week fellas with a couple of derby's in Adelaide and Perth that could go either way.
Probably only 2 game you could lock in for a win, Dees running over the top of the Suns but even then, given all the tough talk about Lynch moving on next year might have them fired up ?, the other being the Giants waltzing home over the Blues.
The rest, as the French would say, bonne chance mes amis..

The money the Swans shelled out for Bud has either been repaid or will be repaid by the increase in club memberships and merchandise sold over the journey.
Not on the scale of Lebron James or Christiano Ronaldo but the exact same model.

Well that was a pretty big upset... Hawks had their wings clipped in Tassie... Rumours swirling that Jeff's called an extraordinary general meeting with the only item on the agenda moving out of Tasmania ?

And good luck with the tipping this week fellas... I've been scratching my head for the best part of a couple of hours to come up with some answers...
I almost digressed to the prowess of psychic animals who were busy dishing out predictions, but most of them came back as England, so thought I'd have a better chance flipping a coin...

Enjoying 'Player Takeover' week on Fox Footy so far, with the exception of Captain Sad Sack Phil Davis "On The Couch"
Also enjoying "Bob" as well, I'm no fan of Bob himself, but the show's growing on me...

This! A thousand times this! I’m just glad JB wasn’t commentating last night or I would’ve been shopping for a new TV..
And whilst they’re at it, <deleted> Phil Davis out of ‘expert’ commentary as well, that was a ridiculous experiment last night he’s a sad sack to listen to. Cameron Mooney can stick to his <deleted> ‘numerology’ bit on “The Bounce” that’s where he belongs the <deleted> numpty.
I firmly believe Alistair Lynch needs to commentate more.

Well done Rip on picking with your head taking the Swannies. I switched my tip back and forth after Buddy and Parks were pulled at the last minute and banked on you not tipping against the boys and then I took the chance on the Giants to get up over the Dees, was looking good up until half time. I'll take 2nd though based off last years efforts as well where I think I was mid-field.
Huge effort by FJ to take out the Fantasy League as well, 2500+ saving the best for last! Alex, mate, ya got dealt a dud with Buddy and Parker being pulled.
I see the pre-lim All Australian squad was released earlier today, 8 tigers players? Give me a spell!
Of course with the last monday in August comes the rumor mill... Bloody hell break out the colanders gents, shit's about to get wild! Don't think we need Tom Lynch to be honest, we tried that with Kurt Tippett and look how that turned out, but the opportunity to work alongside Bud would be tempting for the young fella.
