Looks like Dangerfield's chances of back to back Brownlow's are up the creek having just been handed a week on the pine for his dangerous tackle on Kreuzer.
Hodgey also gets a week on the pine having had his 3rd financial sanction as a result of striking Tom Papley on Friday night as well...

Good to see Chooks still has the good oil down at Moorabin...
Riewoldt's hanging up the boots at the end of the year...

Down on the farm in Kangaroo land it's been a good weekend.
Finally climbed off the bottom of the ladder in the tipping.
Kangaroo's defeated the Demon's to keep their streak going.
And after a good contest managed to get past Rip in the Fantasy elimination final.(well done to GS as well)
Here i was thinking i would play the Bangkok Bombers next week in the semi.
But it's Alex, yes Alex, going to be a long week waiting for this.
Nice work on the pick of the card there FJ!
Sorry to hear you'll be facing Alex this weekend, thought it was my turn to cop a bit of banter from the salty old sea dog. Give him hell this week champ :)

I hope not. They don't need an extra gun in the midfield.
Being reported on Melbourne radio.
We don't need him, likely GWS - his old man has pretty strong ties out that way so probably needs someone to run the business..
There'd have to be plenty of movement at the homestead for us to be able to fit him in the salary cap and avoid future trade sanctions because Eddie will get upset

Joseph 1907 was defeated by Rip 1924, a close one, a chinese one....goes to show taking your eye off the ball early in the season pretty much kills you in Fantasy Jo....
Fj 2174 was pushed by Chooks 1892, sneaky pete gets out of another tight one, not having it his own way all game long had to dig deep down to brush off the officer....
Gaz 1815 was defeated by the Dee's 2250, the train has arrived.....
Grants 2193 inflicts the second defeat and on the trott to Optus 2016, the wheelie bin wheels are a loose...the CHOOKWOBBLES have arrived at Windy Hill....its all down hill from here for wonder boy....
The Ladder....
Dee's go to number 1.....well i am surprised.....Optus drops to 2cd Grant stays at 3rd and of course Fj is glued to 4th to keep for ever and ever....
Rip holds 5th, Gaz safe at 6th and wow....when loosing and ur still a winner.....Joseph moves over Chooks to 7th on % a bare .32% Chooks holds up the ladder at 8th....
Next weeks preview....
Wow....the match for the Plastic spoon.... Jo vs Chooks.....to keep it or to give it is the question....i like the cottesloe kid here, Chooks nothing like he once was, to much going on in the station house.....
Rip vs Dee's....wont be easy and it never is the Dee's to hold off a gallant effort....
Fj vs Optus....wow..... could it happen 3 weeks in a row? could Fj leave it to long to mount a challenge? Fj for me and i hope i dont have to play you in the finals....meaning i hope someone beats you before you get to far...
Gaz vs Grant...the 2 G's Grant should have enough to put Gaz to rest....
Ladder positions cant change to much a loss by the Dee's would see them go back to 2cd assuming Optus beats Fj, Jo and Chooks could change positions winner gets to hand the other the spoon...a win by Fj and a loss to Grant would see Fj come un glued and move up to 3rd...
Ahhh almost over and the most exciting game next week is the battle for the plastic spoon...
Fair play to Optus though, he had 3 players pulled last minute and no emergencies listed, so without that it would've been a lot closer... So I'm sure Optus will rectify that with a couple of sharp trades this week...

Not wise, Clayton Oliver, to invest yourself with fans over the fence. No winners there.
Why not? I thought it was better than his twitter spat with Damien Martyn. Punter threw a few verbal barbs and Clayton went back at him, so long as there was nothing that went over the top like Oliver insulting the punter for being anything other than a Blues fan it should be allowed.
I thought the look on the punter's face was golden...- 4

Grant 2142 Chooks 1879, the honourable officer kept Grant honest just not enough talent in the line up Mr Chooks....The song for this game is "Break me Shake me" by Sound Garden.
...
Grants Apples vs Optus Bombers....match of the round and the song for this game is the funky "Get it on" T Rex....died so young made some great music....Can Grant inflict a second loss? can Optus recover? has the slide begun? Stay tuned for next weeks results....
One of my better scores this year with 2 guns on the sideline and no emergencies to pick up their slack, fortunately it wasn't a wasted opportunity.
Nice win by the way there Mr Alex, still, I'll need to make a few tweaks and with a nice little war chest created thanks to a handy little pick up and trade, I'll hopefully be able to take it up to the big dance..

The Age confirms that Jake King is the "former AFL player" being investigated...
Hawthorn recruit Tyrone Vickery and former Richmond hardman Jake King have been arrested for alleged extortion and threats.
It is understood police are investigating allegations Vickery used King to intervene in a business dispute.
Vickery, 27, believed a partner in his Hawthorn East Italian restaurant, Fat Monkey, stole as much as $100,000.
He raised his concerns with police, but when he was dissatisfied with the response, it is alleged he enlisted King, 33, to recover the funds.
Police confirmed a 27-year-old from Wheelers Hill and a 33-year-old from Thornbury were arrested on Wednesday. Warrants were executed at both men's houses and at King's tattoo parlour in South Melbourne, which he co-owns with underworld figure Toby Mitchell.
They are assisting detectives from the Melbourne crime investigation unit, a police spokesman said. The investigation is ongoing.
"Hawthorn Football Club is aware that Ty Vickery is assisting police in an investigation," a spokeswoman said.
"As the matter is under investigation the club will not be making further comment at this time."Vickery and King are believed to be former housemates from their time at Richmond.
Vickery is regularly spotted at his restaurant working as a waiter and in the kitchen. His wife Arina Rodionova, the only Australian tennis player still in action at Wimbledon this week, last year told The Age the pair enjoyed being hands-on in the business.
Ty Vickery had been studying a law degree at Victoria University.

Bugg squashed for 6 weeks for his KO of Mills... 6 seemed to be the consensus around the footy world... Given the hype it received straight after Bacher Houli the week before, I was expecting the AFL to be wanting to set an example...
Can't see the AFL appealing this one though...

Bugg, as expected, straight to the tribunal. Safe to say he won't be going past Go and he won't be collecting $200... Also, nobody got done for the ensuing melee? Not even a mention...
I thought Zak Jones was a shoe in to get - at least - another week on the pine for that hit on Hannan, probably should've gotten 2 with his record.
McCarthy's going to be an interesting one, it looked like it was all one motion and didn't really constitute a 'sling' tackle. Although that last part just as he's about to hit the deck could be interpreted as a double action.

Well played FJ... Knew with a 200 point deficit to overcome and <deleted> Zac Merrett having his worst game of the year as my skipper this week (after giving Danger the week off for Captain's duties) that I was going to be in for a bad time...
Having some usually consistent high scoring players having below their average performances also hurt...
Oh well, as they say, a week's a long time in footy... Have a little bit of a tinker and freshen up for Chook's...

How much did Hally get for belting Staker in '08? 7 weeks? Expect Bugg to get the same if not more, especially if the AFL wants to make an example out of someone.
I thought it was pretty poor form from Richo in the rooms interviewing Bugg starting out with that "on the front foot" bullshit.
I don't mind Bugg's sledging, I think it's quite well done, but knocking a bloke out like that. If Houli couldn't successfully argue he didn't mean to do it, Bugg's cooked.

Given the public outcry, no surprise here.
'Manifestly inadequate': AFL appeals Houli ban
THE AFL is appealing Bachar Houli's two-game suspension for striking Carlton's Jed Lamb as "manifestly inadequate". The AFL Tribunal found the Richmond defender guilty of striking on Tuesday night following his backhand hit on Lamb last Sunday, which left the Blues forward knocked out and unable to play on. Houli cops two-match ban for hit The AFL announced on Wednesday it would appeal the Tribunal's decision, with a hearing on Thursday night. An AFL spokesman said earlier that day the League was considering an appeal on the basis the Tribunal's penalty was too lenient. To successfully appeal Houli's ban, the AFL will have to establish the decision was so unreasonable no Tribunal acting reasonably could have reached that decision having regard to the evidence.
When the bloke brings in the big guns like Gold Logie winner Waled Aly and some bloke called Malcom Turnball to be character witnesses, you have to wonder is this a criminal trial or a football matter...
This one will play out in the tabloids... and will get messy...

I tell you what lads, there was flash backs to the 2005 Semi Final against Geelong last night. Some would probably argue the importance of last night will be of a greater significance. Though, the boys had nobody but themselves to blame far too much wayward behinds and we should've put Essendon to bed midway through the 2nd quarter. Take the 4 points and the adrenaline that goes along with it to prepare for next week against the Dees who are on a 6 day cross country turn around.
What an absolute belter of a season! The only certainty here is, is that Brisbane is probably the only team that theoretically can't make the 8.
Gillon must be rubbing one out every night at the thought of it...

Joseph vs Grant, stone motherless last vs 3rd cab off the rank....and the west aussie kid has his work cut out for him....like to know where you got your $$$ from looks like a nice midfield there now, but there are a couple of duds in def....Grant by 200....
That extra trade per week was an awesome weapon to use for those of us not playing for points during the byes
15 hours ago, AlexRRR said:No dont like playing in the bye's its silly and not a true reflection of the teams comp....its fine the way it is this year officer dibbles...
I'm neither here nor there on it... Having to select 18 players to be playing during the byes was almost impossible, which would've made for some interesting match ups.

Gee Port have slipped under the radar when it comes to criticism.
West Coast are called flat trackers but Port haven't beaten a side in the 8.
They've smashed the weaker sides and haven't stood up against any quality to be honest.
They beat Syd and Freo early on when both were crap and then have beaten Carlton, Brissy, GC and the Hawks.
Time for them to be put under the microscope.
No need Khun Will, it's a given that Port have that innate ability to choke when the going gets good. I think everyone is so accustomed to it that it's no longer a surprise. A matter of when not it

Looks like the AFL's had a gutful of the jumper punches handing Tommy Hawkins a week on the sidelines.
In other news, Matt Crouch has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Chris Scott is set to reprise his role as the Incredible Hulk on AFL 360 tonight.

Robbo's all over Danger like our old friend Khun BM is on Chimpy at the Cockatoo Bar...
Given that Cam McCarthy got the same deal for his tackle, the MRP, reasonably didn't have any other conclusion to draw. The question will be whether or not Geelong appeal. If they do, it's likely Danger gets off but then would the AFL appeal this decision as being "manifestly unjust" or do they let it go?
With one eye closed, I'm happy for Danger to have the week off
