This is a different situation than was being discussed earlier. The other posts were saying that Bangkok Bank was involved in their transfers to for example Kasikorn or SCB....this  is false unless using transferwise. Your case I still don't understand.

It's not false Bangkok Bank as another members has said was the holding bank

Is your account with Bangkok Bank ?

I have a feeling you guys are talking about Transferwise which is a unique peer to peer transfer operation. In normal wire transfers not using Transferwise....there is no reason that any other bank would be involved as an internediary.

Rinrat you are the one that doesn't know what your talking about because you haven't had the experience of doing it like other members and myself. And 1 million baht usually doesn't get flagged but a couple of couple of several transactions with and it end up at a holding bank called Bangkok Bank not BOT

Clearly you are missing the point...Bangkok Bank HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRANSFERS TO OTHER PRIVATE BANKS. BTW...I just transferred $28000 for a car purchase to Kasikorn...and lo and behold...Bangkok Bank doesn't know anything about it. Bank of Thailand (Central Bank) and Bangkok Bank are NOT THE SAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When or is stopped you will find out

No...the point is you are incorrect in calliing "The Bank of Thailand" "Bangkok Bank", Bangkok bank is a separate private enterprise that has nothing at all to do with transfers to other private banks.

Why don't you tranfer 10,000 and see what happens. I am speaking from experience. Do you have first hand experience. Have you had dinner in London with the President of the BOT.? I have

    Mistake in previous, "baht" acc.

Better to keep most money in UK acc as it is guaranteed, Thai is not.

Be safer just to transfer it to my SCB account......lol....????????????????????????????????

All transfers into Thailand go via Bangkok Bank then onto your bank. If there are questions regarding money laundering (usually in 2 million and up.) Bangkok Bank with stop the tranfer until the account owner can email them evidence of what the money is for. Ie purchase

Send under 500K baht at the time (via TransferWise) and you be perfectly fine. I recommend you to get 2 saving accounts with only 1 having an ATM card, you can then keep the big stash apart but still manage realtime from the Mobile apps. This is below the 15,000 euro anti money laundering limits in Europe too which avoids delays for no reason or your money being on hold / needing documents etc.

Depending on where you are from as well in general, I would not transfer more than you need to have here with some reserve too. Exchange rates could change quite a bit so an alternative is getting a multi currency account with for example Bangkok Bank.

Last but not least, if you do wanna do 80K at once and not spending it fast, open a few different banks and divide it, you could then transfer 480K baht X 4-5 banks at one time for example. Bank fees are nothing much anyway, average 200-300 baht per year incl. ATM card.

I would use MoneyCorp tranfer wise has had problem over the last few weeks with payments not being completed.

I would again suggest you look carefully at the condo documents and regulations.  Anything discussed with the sales agent during the purchase process is not a legal opinion or approval. Their agreement with your ideas were nothing more than a sales tactic and holds no sway legally.

Condo property ownership is almost always restricted to a limitation of ownership from Wall Surface to Wall Surface and Floor to Ceiling Surface only. Anything past that is part of the Master Property or a Common or Shared Area.  Areas like balconies, roof tops or adjacent space like exterior gardens can be listed as Master Property, Shared Use or Restricted or Exclusive Use Area, most generally Restricted or Exclusive Use but not true Condo Ownership. Either way it will be listed in the Property Deed\Ownership and\or Condo Docs and Regulation. If it is listed as your true ownership the same limitations apply, you own surface to surface but nothing beyond that surface including penetrating or attachment to what is know as Exterior Envelope and  it can not be altered or attached to legally. If it's listed as Exclusive Use which I suspect it is you may not have any true ownership but just the right for your use only.  If it is yours legally then you may have the same issue of not being allowed to penetrate or attach to the Exterior Envelope.  I would also look at your design concept to verify if your alterations include penetrations or attachments to the exterior building envelope or creating a "new" exterior building elevation. Free standing structures may be your alternative approach versus a true build on attachment.  If it is your ownership and clearly defined in your property paperwork I would again record your non confrontational discussion with the Building Juristic person, point this out along with any building regulations listed and asked for his assistance or direction on how to move forward or gain approval. I would try to capture his request or demand for a bribe, kickback etc... as a leverage point
