  1. I agree with Soutpeel, It is a great way of keeping in touch with friends. That is my only regret of deleting my profile, but looking back it isn't worth having the missus questioning every photo or comment that includes you or something you did...That and the cringe-worthy photos of what I just cooked her for tea!

OP, you need to think like the Thai woman. You must have at least 3 FB accounts. Different circles of friends get to see different stuff.

How can any westerner think like a Thai.

  2. I just got back from a trip to Nakhon Phanom then down the Mekong for a few days and then back to Pattaya. The haze was terrible. A few times we could barely see Laos from right on the river. Fires were burning everywhere. And with the drought...there were lots of large fires.

I live in Chiang Saen & cycle every day from here to G/T . I have not seen any fires

in this area. Altho today the smog was very bad, could hardly see the sun, but temps

    still in the 30`s.

  3. Very Sad for fellow Brits RIP and condolences to family, But some of us who have been here a while wouldnt dream of riding a bicycle outside of the Gym.

What an outlook , I have been doing about 150 k`s per week for the past 8 yrs. on the bike.

here in Chiang Saen , Ok there are crazy b`s here as there are all over the world , but i love

the ride from here to the Golden Triangle along the Mekong & god willing shall carry on.

But god bless these two people who were doing what they loved.

    Condolences to their loved-ones.

May you both rest in peace.

  4. Not being missed for 10 days, and then only by his ex. Not sure what dream you are talking about. Seems the man had no mates. I hope I never end up in this way. Sad, really.

Many people are quite satisfied with their own company and do not need or want "mates", any more than they need or want to watch sport or frequent bars.

Of course if he did want that and couldn't get it for whatever reason, that would indeed be sad.

Well said Bertha , i have been a `loner` (whatever it means) all my live , and it suits me fine.

    I also live `up north ` with my Thai bride & our 2 girls , i love it .

You can keep Pattaya , Phuket , and the rest of the in places .

  5. The Office of Alcoholic Beverages announced that occupants of vehicles of any kind who drink alcohol while travelling are now subject to six months' imprisonment and/or a Bt60,000 fine. But the new penalty still doesn't seem strong enough to deter careless drivers from getting behind the wheel.

So does that mean if you are a passenger in a vehicle who has had a night out and got a little bit the worse for wear or still has a bottle of beer in your hand then you are potentially going to end up in the nick or fined a stupid amount of money ?? coz that is how I read the meaning of the article doesnt seem to me to be a way of getting the drunken idiot drivers off the road if it is ,just another way of raising some Tea Money >

If you are a passenger in the same car as a drunk driver, you know he/she is drunk, you get the same sentence as he/she.

  6. OK, wrong choice!

Drug mule never a good idea.

However given where the woman is from 50,000Bt could feed her family and take care of her sick mother...Do you know the reason? Do you really think she wanted to do this?????

Yes a life sentence behind bars, but we could than ask how many local bar girls and boys for that matter have HIV and AIDS and have done the same to support their family!!!

Is there anyone on Thai visa that can think outside a box???

In a roundabout way its because of mules like her that a lot of these young people have HIV & AIDS no sympathy whatsoever . Bang her up.

    throw away the key .

  7. Who in his right mind comes to Thailand, with no job or income, meets some girl and decides to buy a house and a car, knowing full well that the only money he has is "only" 10 million baht (so let's say £200,000 roughly) entrusted to him by his dying grandfather, and proceeds to blow it all in just 2 years? Must have been a great 2 years, and I imagine plenty of champagne was drunk and drugs consumed. This man is a 42-year-old idiot and deserves not a shred of sympathy. However, it must be said there are many like him (in a way), who come to Thailand, leaving their job back home, decide to stay, and blow through their meagre savings, with the kind assistance of a young Thai woman, and eventually find themselves living in the gutter, or almost in it, in Pattaya. The stupidity of foreigners in Thailand never ceases to amaze me. His grandfather must be turning in his grave.

    Meagre savings , 10 mill baht ?. at 42 yrs old . The guy is a < < Snip > > from way back .

  8. This is a terrible tragedy, may god bless the little one.

But as i have posted before, 80% of Thais should not be allowed

to own a dog, they are completely irresponsible.Very often i have

seen a bitch on heat with 10 or more dogs completely blocking

the road trying to mount the poor bitch. Why the local

authorities do not employ dog wardens i will never know.

But may god bless him and may he rest in peace.
