  1. After a few one year marriage visa extensions I want to leave Thailand for a few days and start anew with an e-visa or visa exempt. But now I've gotten myself in a bit of a situation. My non O marriage visa renews in mid January. This was inconvenient for me, so I planned to go to Savannakhet and get a new multiple entry visa there, so I don't have to renew at Chaeng Watthana anymore. I have to do this now as I didn't put the 400k on my account 2 months beforehand. Today I found out, that Savannakhet switches to e-visa from 2025 and all time slots until December 20, after which the old system stops, are taken. I also guess, that the multiple entry visa will be off the table after this change. So now I plan to go to Ho Chi Minh (because there they already do it for a while and I hope for a smooth process) and just do the e-visa there for non O marriage 90 days and then in April extend it for another year. The processing, if all documents are ok, should be 5 days. Or could i just leave and come back a few days later visa exempt? And then convert this into a non O extension? Is that possible? Of course I would have to buy an onward ticket to pass the check in desk of the airline, I guess. I'm married since 2017 and at Don Muang immigration at about 2018 an officer lady told me, that I can only enter with a non O visa and that my entry visa exempt or tourist visa will be for the last time and that she made a note in the system. I'm not sure to this day, if it was a bluff or if that was serious? I never challenged it until today. Is there someone here, that had one year extensions, left Thailand and hence invalidated the visa and then successfully got back in - still married - visa exempt and then converted it to a one year non O extension based on marriage. Thanks to everyone for any helpful comments.
  2. 100% sure, no. You could have divorced 3 months ago and present a Kor Ror 2 from 4 month ago. So I think it better be recent. Otherwise there might be questions from the immi officer.
  3. That is so interesting. My wife and I somehow always end up at the desk of the team boss, because while she handled us she always gave instructions to other staff coming by and asking her things. I dunno what makes us so special. :-) Is it perhaps because I use the 400k on the bank? Maybe they scrutinize those a little more?
  4. I did not put it to the copies and noone asked for the latest 90 day report. Last year the immigration lady looked it up in the system and made a comment about it, but also did not ask for a copy. Passport copies: They took all of them and left it with the documents handed in. I guess - without knowing for certain - that at least all pages since the last extension should be copied.
  5. I'm kind of obsessed with documenting this. So here is everything you have to do, if you're married to a Thai national and want to extend your stay for another year. Documents needed for one year extension of marriage visa – sorted in official Chaeng Watthana order (as far as I observed) Completed TM 7 form with one passport sized photo glued to the form on page 2: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/14คำขออนุญาตเพื่ออยู่ในราชอาณาจักรเป็นการชั่วคราวต่อไป-ตม.7.pdf Completed STM2 form: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/Form-STM2.pdf Statement form handed over by immigration, that your wife will have to fill out. - Can't find a download link for this one. Best do it in Bangkok bank branch in Chaeng Watthana and pay 100 THB into the account beforehand, update the bank book and make copies of it. So I will be able to pick up the final year stamp on 31.01.2024. Pink line to Immigration and back We used the pink line. So upon arrival, there is taxis waiting below the station. We picked one and turned left into the 2nd road, that goes all the way to the immigration entrance. The first road is Chaeng Watthana Soi 7 and the station is about in the middle of those two access roads. On the way back my wife asked and the shuttle departs from the middle entrance and exit, gate 1. Since the building is called B, it is the gate B1. From there the free shuttle took us to the beginning of Chaeng Watthana Soi 7 in about 5 minutes. Then it's just a 2 minute walk to the Pink Line station. Personal comments My wife always has to go and make copies of about half the documents after they have been stamped by immigration. I presume it is the same for everyone under the marriage visa.
  6. So strange. In my case it is the opposite.
  7. I returned from Switzerland on July 7, also no TM6 and I had to do none of these things. Just fingerprints of the right hand, photo taken, stamped and I was back in. I have a non o visa with a reentry permit. Maybe this process only happens with tourists?
