    Comprehensive.

I needed FEWER documents than you listed when I renewed my marriage visa at CW a few weeks ago (tm30, kor-ror 2, blue book, etc - never needed those).

Glue and scissors I also always bring.

As for your "Personal Comment" that has also never been requested of me/us.

But I fully agree to have a list of documents in ones files (mine is not as neat as yours) so that next year will be smooth sailing.

    That is so interesting.

My wife and I somehow always end up at the desk of the team boss, because while she handled us she always gave instructions to other staff coming by and asking her things.

I dunno what makes us so special. :-)

Is it perhaps because I use the 400k on the bank? Maybe they scrutinize those a little more?

    Fantastic report. Thanks.

OP, you mention TM30. I wonder if this was required or you just provided that and accepted by io.

Also copy of every page of pp with Thai immigration stamp should not be required.

    No TM47 required?

I did not put it to the copies and noone asked for the latest 90 day report.

Last year the immigration lady looked it up in the system and made a comment about it, but also did not ask for a copy.

Passport copies: They took all of them and left it with the documents handed in. I guess - without knowing for certain - that at least all pages since the last extension should be copied.

A slight correction: the requirement for an embassy income letter is required for all nationals except those from Australia, UK and US.

The team head at Chaeng Watthana did not mention Australia. But I'm sure, that she mentioned Canada. I guess, she might just have forgotten to mention Australia?

  4. Call me stupid, but I came to the conviction that I, as a Swiss national, can use the income method for the yearly extension of my non immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai national in Chaeng Watthana Bangkok. I had the statement ready for 12 monthly transfers of at least 40k THB from an international source from Bangkok Bank but no affidavit of my embassy.

The answer from the immigration: They strictly and only allow the income method without embassy affidavit for Canadian, UK and US citizens. Everyone else still needs to bring it. They were nice and offered me a 60 day Covid extension and recommended me to come back as soon as I have the 400k on my account, which I achieved a few days later.

Well lesson learned. Due to epidemic situation I took this as a hint of destiny to go for a vaccination in my home country, so I'm out this Sunday.

At least this is now clearly answered in this forum and I was the Guinea Pig to try it. ????

So a one year lease contract +owners signed Id card isn't enough? You need copies of ownership contract and the owners tabian Baan too?

I think, they wanted the ownership copies, because the tabien baan was wrong. So, I guess, it normally is not required.

I brought the tabien baan, because it was on Ubon Joe's list.

Maybe it works to have the tabien baan copy ready but to only hand it over when asked for it?

First you said you had the tabien baan from the owner, but wrong tabien baan. Then immigration wanted a tabien baan from the "real owner", suddenly you changed from owner to landlord, which is not same thing. A bit confusing imo.

    Ok, sorry,

My landlord told us, she was the owner of the unit, but she wasn't. According to the sales papers her uncle was. And that is, what the immigration found out.

The tabian baan was not the one from our condo unit, but another one.

And please be forgiving to people that do not have English as their mother tongue. ????

One more thing - if I do get blocked on a fresh Kor Ror 2, is this list accurate for the required documents for a 60-day extension?

    • TM7 form (get at immigration)
    • Original passport & photocopies
    • Original TM6 & photocopies
    • Original marriage certificate (KR3) & photocopies
    • Copies of wife's ID card
    • Copies of wife's housebook
    • Copy of lease (we don't live at the address in housebook)
    • Wife herself to attend in person

Or do we still need signed copies of the owner's ID card and housebook for this extension too?

Things I think are only required for 12-month extension, not 60-day:

    • Bank book
    • Bank letter
    • Kor Ror 2
    • Photos of myself and my wife
    • Hand drawn map to our home

If I've got any of those wrong, I would love to be corrected. Thanks again.

They sent me away for the 60 day extension of non O marriage visa because of missing Kor Ror 2 about 40 days ago. So in Chaeng Watthana you need it for the 60 day extenton as well.

I also had to do the drawing.

I recently changed from METV s to non O me based on marriage. When I was on the METV I tried many banks to open an account and was unsuccessful. What were your experiences opening an account on non O me.

I recommend Bangkok Bank. If you get a letter from your embassy certifying, that your passport is genuine, they don't seem to care about the type of visa.

They didn't ask me for any proof, that I'm married.

  9. Dear all,

I tried to read as much as possible in the current threads about the non O visa based on marriage.

    My situation is as follows:

    Western European nationality

Non O multiple entry visa expired April 18 (issued in Savannakhet).

Last 90 day stamp expires June 17.

I opened a local bank account and as per July 20 it will have 400 000 Baht on it for two months.

My goal is to switch to a one year permit until next year.

Should I go to immigration in Bangkok and extend 60 days, so the visa stays valid? Or do I not have to do that, because it would stay valid until end of July anyway?

I'm getting mixed opinions about this, so I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thank you all very much in advance.

  10. I still got in from Phnom Penh to Don Muang, yesterday on March 20, evening, without certficate and insurance. I was just out of Thailand for a visa run. It should still be possible to fly in from not badly affected countries and not having been there for the last 14 days, today Saturday. From today midnight the new rules with certificate and insurance will apply.

All this without guarantee, that it will work, but this is what I was told.

  11. I was recently acquiring an SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa - regards Catoni) from Phnom Penh. I had lots of education visas and tourist visas in my Swiss passport and got the visa without much problems. The lady handling my application was giving me bit of a hard time - as with anyone, just seemed to be her method - was saying, I might not get one, but I did.

I provided a bank statement from a Swiss bank, the copy of the flight out ticket, a passport copy and a photo.

I had to go to the embassy itself, as an agent, that went through my passport, shook his head and said: Too many visas already. :-)

So why did I get the visa? No idea. Maybe a nationality, that they like?
