  1. With your examples of the UK and other countries, why would anybody apply for a visa for that country if they are also a holder of a passport of the same country?
  2. I was a couple of months late because it was simply not on my mind. I think the fine was THB 400 or so (in Bangkok). With receipt. No trouble whatsoever.
  3. Google Play uses the country in which Google Play is registered. I had the same problem when I could not download the EU Covid App (similar to Mor Chana) even though I was in the EU and used my EU SIM card, but my Gmail has a Thai address. See more info here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7431675?hl=en Note the warning that you can change the country only once a year and may lose access to some apps that require you in that first country.
  4. Did you ask whether your seniority (number of years paid in) will remain unchanged?
  5. The number does change' I needed a confirmation of insurance when I left, because I needed it for the Thailand Pass in order to return. They gave me a form to fill in but I did not have my passport (for the old number) with me. They said I have to "apply again" (สมัครใหม่) rather than update the number. That's what confused me, and why I am afraid I will lose the pension. Looking forward to your report after the 25th.
  6. I see you are in the same situation as me. Looking forward to learning what you can find out.
  7. Did your SocSec number change? I still have an old number starting with a 6, which was issued long before I got my PR. When I went to the SSO to ask about the number (because now I have a pink card with a number starting with an 8), they say I have to re-apply. I am afraid this will mean that my more than 15 years of paying will be lost, and I will lose my pension.
  8. 2020 is correct, my mistake. 2019 was when I submitted the first batch of documents to SB.
  9. My docs were sent to the MoI/BORA in April 2019. I followed up again last month. I was told that I am in the queue and should wait a little. I hope I'll get the interview in the first half of this year.
  10. No, I wasn't going to discuss with MOI. Rather with the Khet. And you are right, I can always change the name if all else fails, so in the end, there is always a solution. Thanks.
  11. I don't have it yet, as I am still waiting for the MOI interview. I expect it to show the middle name spelled out. The Tabien Baan now shows the middle initial. I don't think that's a problem; we can just say that person moved out and register with the new spelling.
  12. Talking about middle names: In my pink ID, I only have the middle initial, not the full spelling of the middle name. In my application for citizenship, of course I used the full middle name. Can I expect problems later on, or will they just issue the Thai ID with the correct full middle name as per nationality certificate? A stupid problem to have, I know. Why is only the middle initial in the pink ID, you ask? I don't remember, but it has never caused a problem.
  13. They cannot grant more PRs than they have applicants. It is normal that a small percentage will be rejected. And yes, you can work if your have PR. You need a Work Permit though, with or without PR. No difference.
  14. I have the Pathom 6 degree. So I am wondering: Once this new regulation is in force, should I cancel my current application and apply new? I will be processed within 90 days. Even if they delay by 30+30 days, it will still be much faster...
  15. Let's keep each other updated. When were your documents sent from SB to MOI? Mine were sent in April 2020.
  16. Yes, this is the test I took too. Thanks for posting that complete list.
  17. I was in fact never a Japanese housewife or something similar. That's just a rumour.
  18. Yep, good question. I got the primary school degree 20 years ago. It requires listening and reading comprehension as well as writing. There were five parts, I need to dig out the documents to find them. Not easy for most, I'd say.
  19. Just called to MOI. Applications that reached them in 2563 are not yet scheduled for interviews. They couldn't say when this will be known; I will be contacted by letter and phone.
  20. I read that too. It is not clear to me whether this is only for new applications or also for applications already submitted. Any idea?
