Sad. It seems that knives are fast evolving into the weapon of choice in many countries around the world.
Perhaps this can be a lesson for those who are faced with the decision of fight or flight. These days one should assume the other person may be armed with a knife or similar before any thought of fighting. Walk away before it escalates. There are a lot of screwed up people out there who become very aggressive drunks.

America is broken but anyone who thinks Trump is the answer will find out the very hard way that they are wrong if the planet is unlucky enough for him to win.
Wake up people he is a narcissistic, wannabe dictator with no one’s interest at heart than his own.
…… and what’s with the tampon on the ear?

This new visa arrangement suits me just great. I hope it doesn’t change. Anyone with a marriage or retirement visa would be silly not to take advantage of it. Assuming it isn’t changed.

This needs to be sorted. A friend of mine bought 2 condos/villas at a resort development on Koh Samet some years ago. ( Resort name Pandora I think)
It was later determined, among other things, that half of the resort was built on National Park land and has left the investors out on a limb. There are now lots of lawyers making sh!tloads of money from the fight against the developers to get compensation. I see the same thing happening in this case.

I love the trains in Thailand. I’ve travelled on almost every line and can’t say I’ve had a single bad experience. Overnight trains can be convenient as the usually arrive in the mornings and take the hassle out of negotiating the airports. Many of the longer distance trains have a food carriage with drinks and basic fare. I totally recommend the experience if time is not a priority.

All six in one room? No mention of whether it was a suite or apartment or adjoing rooms. Tragic ending.
One of the rooms was on a different floor.

The suspect was probably back in Myanmar 2 days after the couple were murdered.
More than likely. If he was smart he’d have headed for the nearest border crossing

Not to different to the suite of pardons handed out by Trump when he reluctantly exited office in 2021. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Be less of an a$$hole and lower your own corruption index, maybe? Nah, too much work.
….. and the rhetoric. He only got what he’s been promoting since his rise to power.

It's not about being negative, it's about the reality of living in Thailand.
All the relatives and friends will be circling like vultures.
Thais find in it extremely difficult to say no when they're asked by family or friends for a loan. They know they probably won't get it back as well.
Hope a brother or family member isn't building the house as that would be another story.
Cheers
Tom

This will undoubtedly culminate in record cases of overstays. Immigration cops are going to be busy.
Not sure Thailand is going to benefit positively from this but the dollar is king.- 1

I’ll buy it when I see it. Potentially a step towards a true democratic election process but I’m not sure that’s how it’s going to play out

Not sure this is going to put much of a dent in these numbers- if at all.
I think the onus must be on the developers to reassess their business strategies and find a better way to invest. Seems they are following the Chinese example and hoping for a different outcome.- 1

I had a similar experience about 10 years ago. They questioned a similar thing where the binding on my passport had started to let go on the photo page. Separation was less than a centimetre.
After much pleading they allowed my wife and I to pass through. On attempting to board the flight one of their staff pulled us aside and handed us an envelope full of Thai baht equivalent to the exact amount we had paid for our tickets and told us they wouldn’t be allowing us to fly because they may be subjected to a large fine by Indian immigration on arrival in India. My wife was offered the option of traveling alone if she wished. What a shambles. We then had to cough up for a return flight to Chiang Mai where we were living at that time.- 1
