  1. I am back after 9 days out of action, in Khonkaen hospital.
I am always attacking the police/officials here, but only praise for hospital staff.
Been out of action with a bacterial infection in my left foot (toes turned black),
After some extremely good care i got home last night, (very happy).
So all you folk who speak about poor care/dirty conditions in government hospitals take note.
I received excellent care in a very clean private room.

Great care at an extremely great price I am sure.
I spent 4 days in kk ram a while back and it cost just under 200k baht.
    Lucky my insurance covered it.
If you arnt sick before you get there you sure will Be when u get the bill.
  2. Hello,  I'm very new to this site and forum, however I personally as a builder and importer find 500K THB quite expensive *around $20,000 AUD. to me thats ASNZ Australian New Zealand standards prices for a 6Mx4Mx1.8M fibreglass pool either keyhole or kidney shaped complete with lights, skimmer, sand or salt water filtration system installed and warranted for 5 years. Again bare with me as I may be naive but my own and others I have both installed, supervised and supplied for DIY and other jobs came in at 250K THB and didnt use substandard glues or plumbing nor flawed pumps or electrical units. I would be quite suspicious on the quality and thickness of the fibreglass unit itself especially as you would have little recourse in the event of an issue. 200K or 500K its your money which ever way you choose to go. But I'd ask quite indepth questions not only of the products and services being offered or quoted but also the expertise, qualifications and experience.

    Best Wishes
    Olly

Absolutely no way you could get anything of quality for 6000 baht per square meter which is what that size at your price works out to be. Sorry mate but your dreaming.
Maybe your thinking about a kiddy inflatable pool [emoji23]

  3. Yes, it has.
TM28 will move you to your new location so 90 days reports and renewal of marriage extension can be made at the new office.

Wont applying for the extension in the new province and supplying all the relevant paperwork already make it known that I live there now?
Then once I am registered in that province it's just formality to 90 day report in the same region?

  4. If you change address that’s covered by a new immigration office/area there is a high chance you’ll get a home visit for the first application at that office.

If I have only just moved to the new address I won't know any neighbours or village leader etc for them to talk to or for them to vouch for me like at home so what would be the point ?

Also we won't own the new property it's just a rental. My house at home will still be my official address which is owned by my wife.

  5. Hi all

My year on a permission to stay based on marriage is nearly up and it's time to jump through hoops again. I was hoping for an easy application as I know they don't do home visits or neighbour interviews etc after the first successful application but what happens if I want to change address?

Me and the family may move to a different province for a year so how does that work with my application?

I don't want to just do the application in my current province as that will mean a 1000km round trip to do it then another trip to collect it then 4 more trips to do the 90 day reporting every year [emoji24]

    Any info welcome

    Cheers

  6. Hi guys

I know it's done to death but please bare with me.

A mate of mine has his company registered and now wants to get his wp.

He is currently on a retirement visa and has been out of the country twice during the past year.

He has been told that he needs to now leave country again to change to a D visa in order to get his wp sorted?

Can he leave again or is the two exits he has already done his limit for the year?

He was out in January and again in April to get his retirement visa.

Also how come he has to leave again to get a D visa, is there no way to get his wp and stay in country?

    Thanks in advance

  7. You can post the report from anywhere in the country to the office that issued the extension, but you have to include a self addressed envelope so they can send the receipt. Make sure the return address is the address they have on record and not the address you're temporarily staying at.

I assume you have to send your passport and all paperwork if u do it by post yes?
    How safe is that ?
I would love to do it but if passport went missing I be f*%#^}ed

  8. The job description for the work permit would need to be creative, that is the key part to getting the actual work permit to suit the position and it would need to include the wording that allows him to prepare specialist food.
Is the friend a qualified chef with the certification to back it up? This would almost certainly be needed to support the WP application.

Qualified yes years ago but doubt he has the papers as he never intended to work here.

  9. So how about the other scenario if not with the wife.
The scenario where by the guy that already owns a registered company (not in catering) adds the restaurant to his empire as an additional business under his main company umbrella so to speak. Could he then just hire the mate as his Farang chef and the wife as main chef?

  10. He can cook farang food but he can't serve. If he and his wife setup a company (she 51%, he 49%), his wife works in the company, he needs 1 more Thai employee to get a work permit.

The wife and her mum will be working there and possibly the brother too. She is a great cook of both thai and Farang food as she lived abroad for years. He just wants to be able to help her out when they get busy by cooking the Farang food.
He is not really interested in setting up a company with her as he is here on his spouse non O visa and doesn't need to be part of the company. Surely Thais can open a company by themselves and hire a Farang ?
I see many Thai hotels with Farang chefs and doubt they are part owned by a Farang?
I could be wrong but doubt it.
