  1. As someone who knew this girl I can tell you that she took care of her family by sending them money and was a very kind and friendly person. All the stupid comments people are making when they know absolutely nothing about the girl are just pathetic. Race or nationality has nothing to do with anything and where she worked does not make her any less of a human being.

How about you all keep your theories to yourself and show some respect. It's not a movie of the week so go back to your boring lives and let the girl rest in peace.

  2. Yes, it has.
TM28 will move you to your new location so 90 days reports and renewal of marriage extension can be made at the new office.

Wont applying for the extension in the new province and supplying all the relevant paperwork already make it known that I live there now?
Then once I am registered in that province it's just formality to 90 day report in the same region?

  3. If you change address that’s covered by a new immigration office/area there is a high chance you’ll get a home visit for the first application at that office.

If I have only just moved to the new address I won't know any neighbours or village leader etc for them to talk to or for them to vouch for me like at home so what would be the point ?

Also we won't own the new property it's just a rental. My house at home will still be my official address which is owned by my wife.

  4. Hi all

My year on a permission to stay based on marriage is nearly up and it's time to jump through hoops again. I was hoping for an easy application as I know they don't do home visits or neighbour interviews etc after the first successful application but what happens if I want to change address?

Me and the family may move to a different province for a year so how does that work with my application?

I don't want to just do the application in my current province as that will mean a 1000km round trip to do it then another trip to collect it then 4 more trips to do the 90 day reporting every year [emoji24]

    Any info welcome

    Cheers

  5. Why does it have to be smooth? If you want the exact term, it's pebble dash.

Pebble dash render and render are two different things [emoji4]

Pebble dash is also not something done very often in Thailand which is crazy considering how bad the regular render usually is.

Pebble dash would avoid all the ugly cracks.

  6. I have seen rendering done with aggregate up to 5mm size. Obviously it isn't smooth, it doesn't need to be.

Render is the smooth finish on internal and external walls. The final coating that you paint over. Of course it has to be smooth.

  7. Our render is only cement (and sand), not concrete, but the paint should still stick to it. The render is 'like butter' in places where it's blown, and will be coming off soon.

Why would render have stone in it?
How would you get a smooth wall finish with great lumps of stone in it?
Isn't render always sand and cement only?

  8. Phuketitnet: Thursday I drove to six different homes under construction in Buriram Province by six different home builders. I was most impressed with a home in a small village between Buriram and Lam Plai Mat. It was built by the same UK expat who built an Australian's named Liam's home in 2016 near Prakon Chai. The skill set, actual tools, real Western world construction standards were quite different than the other five homes I visited. Everything comes at a price, but I have seen the work of untrained in modern building practices, or just plain disreputable builders both Thai and otherwise. Ask around Prakon Chai and consider checking the world of this UK expat who is the "real deal",   Photos are from Thursday, but I have been in this home before the walls were rendered with Lanko 110. I have seen the steel welding and home walls before they were painted with a top grade Nippon house paint through a Graco 695 airless paint sprayer.  The English speaking staff or owners of builders merchants are keenly aware of which home builders buy underspec or low grade products. They also are aware of the builders who have satisfied Thai and expat customers since a store manager will hear complaints and compliments about home builders in Isaan.

I wouldn't listen to a word that any Builders providers say.
I know for a fact that many if not all of them take back handers to push work to the contractors that pay them and also bad mouth companies that don't give them tea money.

  9. The Construction company that built my home were brilliant and they build all over Thailand so be worth you dropping them an email.
They are owned by an English guy and have a great reputation.
It's Together Construction Thailand and his email is
    <contact by personal message>
If you want to pm me feel free and I can answer some questions about my place if you like.

  10. He is not planning to build that house, his wife came across it and show it to him and he started this thread to see if something like that was possible at that price.

I know that, I was making a joke but my humour was making a point.

So without the humour to answer his question ....
Not possible for something comfortable but possible for a shed [emoji4]

  11. I spent over a year looking for a decent builder. Visited houses built by many of them and it was a nightmare but like the op I eventually found a great company owned by an English guy and got a great house built for a great price.

It takes a lot of research to find someone trustworthy but it is possible. My builder actually had references , testimonials and a real website with photos and video from his projects not one with stock photos from google that were not his (which I found to be the case with a few builders)

House is built a year now and no issues.

Can't say the same for one of my neighbors that built their house a year before mine with a company that were supposed to be decent.

They now have a lovely crack running from floor to ceiling and a floor with tiles popping up.

The builder is not interested in fixing it either.

  12. Hi guys

I know it's done to death but please bare with me.

A mate of mine has his company registered and now wants to get his wp.

He is currently on a retirement visa and has been out of the country twice during the past year.

He has been told that he needs to now leave country again to change to a D visa in order to get his wp sorted?

Can he leave again or is the two exits he has already done his limit for the year?

He was out in January and again in April to get his retirement visa.

Also how come he has to leave again to get a D visa, is there no way to get his wp and stay in country?

    Thanks in advance

  13. I take your point, however most builds are on a 30% mark up and a reputable builder will have suplier credit so it shouldnt be problem.

So you don't actually take my point then ?

Not possible in the rest of the world so how do you think it's possible here?
I already mentioned that I tried lots of building companies here both big and small and none would come anywhere close to 30%.

It's nothing to do with having a line of credit it's to do with it being unrealistic to think you can hold off on a third of the cost of the project.

The OP will never get a house if he takes that advice [emoji4][emoji4]
