I see Reprieve is not letting this one go, new article published in the Jersey Evening Post (Davids local)

The Jersey State police are denying giving info over to the Thai Authorities, they said they gave it to Interpol...........yea and who did Interpol give it to after that???

Human rights group Reprieve takes up the case on behalf of pair accused of murder.

"However in a statement the States police, which usually follows British protocol, said they have had no direct contact with Thai authorities.

‘Following a request from Interpol, the States Police obtained a witness statement which was then sent back to Interpol.

'We have had no direct contact with Thai authorities. Our Family Liaison Officers continue to work in support of David Miller’s family,’ the statement read."

    http://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2015/03/03/thai-murders-fears-raised-by-human-rights-group-over-possible-execution/

Not only have the suspects been indicted but it appears UK, Jersey and Thai Authorities are working together on this

Here's an earlier article from the Jersey Evening Post. The timeline it quotes is interesting in that the names of the victims were known by late afternoon of September 15th, if the times quoted are Thailand time and not U.K. I still do not understand how Sean McAnna could not have known his friend David Miller had been killed on the day of the murders.

Lets not forget though that two young people lost their lives in the most horrific way. There are some tributes to David Miller in the comments section.

'I still do not understand how Sean McAnna could not have known his friend David Miller had been killed on the day of the murders'

He knew about the murder but he didn't know who it was .

    Sven Hutchinson wrote on Twitter

'there is CCTV of that from a bar he was often in to confirm. He didn't know who had been killed until we all did'

  2. Some posters are best left ignored. Occasionally that will make cause a sideways exit.? We live in hope .

This first picture of Sean seems to show a serious wound.

It is on the night of the 16th.

But in the 2nd picture, there is no bruise.

What day was the 2nd picture taken.

Could the 1st picture be a trick of the light.

It really looks like a bruise to me.

    <post removed>

Sean himself confirmed the pub crawl picture was taken on Monday 15th September and when asked why he would be out partying the day his friend David Miller had been murdered, he replied that he didn't know it was David until Tuesday 16th September.

Regarding the bruise, I think Greenchair means the discolouration on his forearm in the pub crawl picture (at least I presume that's what is meant).

Yes correct - Sean said he was there at the party Monday 15.Sept.

He left the Island 22 September 2014 Koh Tao on a passenger ferry at 3.10pm.

  3. This is frustrating. There are lots missing CCTV footages some part of the video is not even consistent. However, the RTP said it's right of the CCTV owner to show footage or not. They choose whichever part they wanted to show.

In other countrys like the UK if the police believe you have important footage they can order you to provide footage & if they refuse, with a search warrant, they can get the whole CCTV recording Equiptment removed as evidence.

I thought that would be all over the world .

  4. Here's one I cant seem to work out, perhaps its just the cctv image that gives the wrong colour but we have them on a motorbike at 23.10.23 and then walking into a shop at 23.10.51 which is 28 seconds later. I guess thats possible but also it may be that the separate cctv cameras were out in their time settings a little. But what about the different colour of the t shirts? In one shot its red and the other a light colour? Could this be just because one is taken in black and white cctv and the other colour? But surely if that was the case it would still appear darker?

If these screen shots helped the B2 get indicted then it should be clarified

The second picture is original black and white.

I don't understand why the date and time stamps show 23.10.23 because according to a Thai TV Video the Time line is this .

    1. 23.10.51

    2. 23.10.56

3 . 23.12.13 'maw' buy cigarettes in other store

    4. 23.13.43 walk down the street -come back 23.19

    5. 23.19.13

    6. 23.22.00 (TV Moderator say)

    7. They walk in to alley close to AC bar

    8. drive out from the alley with motorbike and guitar

  5. The only reason I can think that a woman (or man) might give their personal belongings to someone to look after in that situation is if they were going for a swim and didn't want to leave anything on the sand. I wonder if David had a wallet with him and if he did, what happened to it? Hannah's friend who handed her phone to the police must have given an explanation of why and when it came to be in her possession. I also wonder if when her phone was given back to her parents, all the data/photos were still on it.

All this business of phones seems strange to say the least. David's phone found smashed. Hannah's in the possession of a friend. McAnna allegedly using a phone belonging to a member of staff at the 24/7 store to ask for help. And nothing whatsoever in the public domain regards what evidence there might have been on any of them relating to the murders or lead up to the murders.

Yea, that's another oddity. If Sean was using someone else's phone, then how could he phone relatives (?), unless he had memorized all their phone numbers. Not impossible, but not likely. Also, would someone loaning a phone be ok with a (stranger?) another person making long distance calls? Sean is not the picture of politeness, but still..... and he checked/uploaded on to his FB page - still using someone else's mobile phone?

But, to me, the strangest issue with phones (more than the plant of Hannah's or David's phone at the B's dwelling) is that RTP detectives seemed to have done absolutely zero in checking up on 'persons of interest' phone logs - particularly for Monday morning's calls histories. If they did anything in that regard, we haven't heard peep. If they haven't, then I for one wouldn't be surprised, because assessing phone histories would likely implicate those who the RTP are trying to shield.

Talking about phone in the following are the burmese pointing to an unbroken phone

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvYo7TGxwc4#t=136

I have also read that it is claimed the running man is one of the B2, can anyone confirm, unable to post link

Do you mean this unbroken iphone ?

Police said a black iPhone4 was taken from the shorts pocket of David Miller. It was all over the news.

But David's friend confirm that he got iPhone4s not iPhone 4.

The Police claimed later to find Davids phone close to the House where the Myanmar workers lived.

David had a iphone 4s and a Samsung hero cellphone.

The big question : To who belongs the phone the police found in the shorts pocket of David?

If its not her wallet or her phone...what could it be ? She left the Bar with other people ! Without money or Phone? I dont think so. If the wallet presumably was given with the phone to the police as well. It means she left the bar with phone and wallet and gave it to her friend later on. She did not leave the bar with her friends ( the 3 uk girls sitting next to her in the bar ) The cctv footage at AC Bar 23.58 shows Hannah left with Matt Barrat, Tom Woods and Emma Madeline. Hannah must have seen her friends later somewhere to give the phone and wallet to them. Do i miss something here because i never read anything about this.

I think it was Chopper's bar they left at 23.58, not the AC bar. They had all been watching a Manchester United football game. Emma Madeline was the friend with the handbag who was carrying Hannah's phone and presumably wallet, and was the one who gave Hannah's phone to the RTP on the morning after the murders.

OK, Thank you i understand. Bit confused. rolleyes.gif alt=rolleyes.gif> But what have Emma Madeline and Hannah's friends said about what happened that night ? There have been literally no reports or witness statements at all.

Correct. Hannah and David's travelling companions have said absolutely nothing since the murders. Hannah was with 3 other girls including Emma and David was with two guys, Chris and Jimmy Ware, although Jimmy apparently left the island the day before the murders. They all apparently gave statements to the RTP and presumably the British police on their return to the UK - but who really knows as nothing has been reported. We can only surmise that they have been told not to talk for whatever reason.

Yes, it would be very interesting to hear what Hannah and David's friends say about what they observed that night, and their ideas related to the crime. Thai clubs are supposed to close at 2 pm are they not? Having a residual group of backpackers hanging around at 3 and even 4 is probably not unusual there. However, a friend or two leaving before Hannah is not unusual. It happens often where a friend says; "I'm tired. I'm going back to the guest house. (to her friend): Do you want to go back with me now? No? Ok, you be ok, and I'll see you later, bye."

As for the guy dressed in black, with possibly just one sandal: that CCTV is at least 2.5 hours before the crime, so it doesn't seem significant.

'a friend or two leaving before Hannah is not unusual'

Of course not. But to leave her without giving back her phone or even wallet ? That's strange.

  7. The news has many conflicting times and stories. If it cannot be backed up with evidence then it is only useful as guide at best. For example 1 report says hannah and david were at a beach party and left together at 1 am.

We know know certainly through cctv that this cannot be true.

Another report says they left the ac bar together between 3am and 4am. First it would be interesting to know the closing times of the bars. Since I thought by law they must close at 2.30 am. And it has been reported that often the party went to the beach at pub closing time.

3rd. Why is there only a picture of David by himself at the bar. Surely if they met together at the bar there would be a picture of them sitting together or walking along the way to the beach.

But no. There is not a single pic of them anywhere near each other. He may have thought she was lovely. We don't know.

But we know leading up to the crime, they had no romantic indications by friends or cctv at all. Only a fool would believe they did. ????

'Why is there only a picture of David by himself at the bar?'

I saw the picture. Unfortunately without Date and time stamps. But i think David wear the T- Shirt from the night of his murder. Obviously Hannah and her friends where not there during the time David was looking for them. Shortly before 1.26 am or after 1.57am when he returns?

    the closing time.

AC - BAR - Sairee Beach open daily, party every Tue, Thu, Sun from 20.00h - 3.00h

  8. I wonder why hannah was separated from her friend Emma. They were out together, but suddenly hannah is alone?

At 23.58 Hannah, Emma Madeline, Matt Barrat and Tom Woods left Choppers Bar and Grill and moved to the AC nightclub.

At 7.47pm David and his friend Chris Ware were filmed walking towards the bar. They were then recorded at 12.55am leaving, stopping in a convenience store for a toasted sandwich, before walking back to their bungalow.

In a police interview Mr Ware told officers that David then told him he was going out to get some cigarettes but another friend revealed he went instead to nightclub AC to meet up with Hannah and her friend Emma Madeline.

AT 1.26am David Miller is recorded walking from the club, and returns at 1.57am. That is the last time he is seen on camera.

    Without Hannah.

Emma Madeleine had phone and wallet (?) from Hanna and must have know where Hannah after the AC Bar went.

  11. berybert....I understood that Hannah's phone was turned in to authorities by her friend Emma who had been carrying it in her purse.

    attachicon.gifPhone.jpg

Of course. Hannah must be the only girl in the world who doesn't have her own bag/purse/pocket in which to carry her stuff.

It is known that Hannah was not carrying a handbag (purse) on the night she was killed. CCTV images prove this. Her phone, and presumably wallet, were being carried in her friend's handbag.

But when she left AC Bar it looks like she has her wallet in the right hand. But maybe not her phone.

  12. A few weeks ago i had to apply for my new one-year visa. My passport was shortly to expire in 7 months. The Immigration officer explained to me that I will get the visa only until the expired date of the passport. This is 7 months. After I gave all the papers and paid the amount of 1900 bht, he told me that I have to wait 1-2 weeks to get the visa stamp. Reason was because of waiting for a confirmation from Immigration in Bangkok or Korat i think. After this i thought it maybe would only depend on the validity of the passport to get the 1 year visa stamp. But because i wasn't shure, i went again to the Immigration Office to inquire if i would benefit from a new Passport and get a full 1 year visa. The Officer who handled my Visa application was not there but two other Officers said that i would benefit and i should do it. That is why I decided to get a new passport while I was waiting for the new visa. After 10 days I had my new passport and shortly thereafter I also received the invitation from the Immigration to obtain the new visa. I went there with my old and new Passport. After all the stamps were transfer from old to new , I realized that the new one-year visa was made just for 7 months. The officer explained to me that I made the application for the visa with my old passport therefore he could not give me a one year visa in my new passport.

  13. Ever tried to tie your own hands behind your back? Why would anybody even consider it is suicide because of that?

Suicidal hanging cases where the victim’s hands were tied behind his back, thus preventing any attempt to save himself, are extremely rare .

Very common though when they used to lynch blacks in the US

and it is reported that such cases could be mistaken for homicidal ones.

  14. I do not feel for them in the least little way. They brought this on themselves. When the prices were so high they decided to plant more and more. There is a thing called supply and demand. But they dont understand that.

But also with the help from the government .

The Thai government ( Thaksin ) spent 1.4 billion baht buying 90 million seedlings under its plan to increase the country's rubber cultivation area in 2004 .

the price for rubber in Oct. 2004 was exactly the same like it is today .

Yes you are right , more rubber dosen't make more demand ! But, the gov said in 2004 that the world's demand for rubber is 'huge' ! Every poor farmer who had a little money was very thank full for help and was full of hope for a better life.

  15. Because they are scared of local repercussions. I saw this first hand on two occasions on the other coast, neither went to the police. Left the island in shame, and scarred for life. Good enough for you?

Don't get me wrong, I witnessed quite few times that our western righteous girls engaged in sex with more than one Thai partner happily at those crazy parties fueled by the ludicrous amount of alcohol and all sorts of drugs. No one raped them, they willingly played with their newly acquired toys. I talk about Koh Samed.

Yeah, agree that is the norm, but talking here about extremes.

And we talk about Koh Tao! I believe it's a different story.
