    Ride it..

the more I am sitting here game planning the more this seems to makes sense. I did a 2 week jaunt around the south recently for 2200km so this would be less than that...depending how far I stray. And would have my bike thru Bangkok and everywhere else to explore, and have no real timeline.

  2. @baansgr and @Issanman I actually thought about both of these things. Mine is 2013 with non-LED lights so could fool someone as an old 125. But yeah the book would show otherwise. What a stupid rule, if they just made the rule 150 were 90% of thai bikes fall would be much more rational...but there in lies the problem.

@jackdd and @strarky that may be the ticket.

But can also wait and see if anyone has actually attempted to get one on the train recently. Cheers boys.

  3. Hello all,

I have read various stuff about this, but was wondering about shipping a motorbike from south (Trang or Surat Thani) to Bangkok or possibly Chaing Mai. I saw the below linked blogpost saying that they can only send motorbikes on train up to a maximum of 125cc from Feb 2019 onward. I have a Honda PCX 150cc. Was looking to get off in Bangkok spend some time there and then get back on the train to Chaing Mai.

Has anyone recently had success with this with a bike of 150cc or more? Thank you for any insight or recommendations as I know rules can change often and unannounced. Also, have seen shipping by post but that seems to be a much longer process and it would be good to be able to ride on the train with the bike and get off and go, but that might not be a possibility anymore. Thanks guys.

  4. How much is immigration cracking down flying in and out on the 30 days Visa Exempt? Is there some magic number of entries before they shut me down? I am in for 3 weeks out for 1 week back 2 weeks, gone another week then back again etc etc are they going to bar me from entering at some point? I don't have lengthy stays but many entries as I work around Asia and am spending more time between meetings in Thailand. Always by air never border.

  5. Hello,

I am an idiot and lost my I-phone last night. I am traveling abroad and do not have my computer with me. If I buy an I-phone with no computer to dock it to, will I still be able to use it for calls and all of the apps? Also can I add music from other peoples computers? I don't know much about this type of stuff, but do remember registering my old one to my computer as soon as I bought it, so don't know what I can do with out having my computer with me. I was relying heavily on it and now am feeling pretty lost with out it! Thanks for any help!!!!

    Cheers

  6. Thanks for the insights guys. I have actually had some success with regular thais off khao san my first week but tired of that hood quickly. Not too concerned with prices of beers as long as I am having fun and the people are good. Sounds like more of the problem is the people I am going out with, their interests, and where they are taking me. I guess when someone says they like to go to the bargirl spots for efficiency, I should probably not roll out with them at night as we have different interests. To each their own. Thanks fellas, I will venture into some of your recommended spots. Cheers

  7. Thanks guys for the input. One concern is that I am traveling light from the US, already in Thailand, and didn't bring my laptop with me. If I jailbreak, will I need to restore it afterwards? If so, I will lose a lot of my information on it since I cant restore since I'm abroad. I am just concerned since the phone basically is my computer for my travels...which may go on for sometime. Thanks again very one for your insights.

  8. So, I like girls but don't buy them and would like to know where in town you can go and party with regular ladies, not the pros trying to get taken home for cash. Any areas that I should head? My friends keep going to places like patt pong, soi cowboy, soi 33 which are obviously not the place for regular girls. Also where beer is not 100+ baht due to the hooker situation. New to Bangkok so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

  9. Has anyone dealt with a locked US I-phone over here in Thailand? I am hesitant to unlock or "jailbreak" mine so I can use a local sim card as I have heard it may jeopardize the integrity of the phone. Anyone dealt with this or have other alternatives that may make the locked US phone work over here? Thanks guys!!!

  10. Hello guys,

I just moved to Bangkok and am interested in playing football in either the premier or Div I. It is challenging to know who to reach as most team sites are in Thai. Does anyone know where I can find the premier league schedules, Division One or even division II schedules in English? Also anyone know of any Bangkok agents I could reach out to? Or where the teams practice so I could go speak with the coaches? I know this may sound far fetched but I believe I have the skills, but zero contacts! Any insight someone could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time gentlemen!!!
