  1. Many Thais have eaten the image of the evil foreigners from the government media. A detailed analysis of who overslept what does not take place. It is always easy to appeal to national unity and declare that all evil comes from outside. The result of such a survey does not surprise me.
  2. What nonsense. 1 day tourists from neighboring countries such as Laos, Malaysia come for a day to shop and must do their PCR test in Thailand on arrival. Before the PCR result is available, they will be home again. Who thinks up such nonsense?
  3. I see it that way too. For me, planning security is more important than the stress of not knowing clearly whether I can fly and when. But in both systems (COE or Thai Pass) there are additional costs and a great bureaucratic effort that discourages travelers. For example, if I want to travel in Europe, I book my flight and hotel. Then enter my travel details in an app and get my QR code immediately. That’s it. No PCR tests, no extra health insurance. I don't have to wait for an extra Shq + confirmation from the hotel, I don't have to wait for confirmation from the insurance company that I have paid, I don't have to book my 2 PCR tests in advance and wait for the payment to be confirmed, I don't have to wait 3 days for confirmation from the embassy, I don't have to download any tracking apps, and no duplicate forms fill in (T8 and T6). And the risk, if there is a C19 positive test, that you will then be forcibly deported for 14 days to a hospital without symptoms like a leper is far exaggerated. Many who are currently flying to Thailand have families or businesses and already have a permanent address in Thailand. That they are then forced into a hotel, even for just one day, is not itself dramatic, but Thailand is burdening itself with an unnecessary organizational Herculean task. There is no longer a healthy relationship between effort and benefit. And such regulations are absolutely unsuitable for dealing with large masses of tourists.
  4. 80% of the slots canceled for the next 5 months. This is a disaster report for the next high season. That is bitter for all Thais who are dependent on tourism. Unfortunately too many puritan deletants at work.
  5. I am sure that for 1000000 baht a year, Thailand could have 1,000 fewer motorcyclists dead a year. How? Free front and rear light bulbs at all police stations. In no other country in the world are there as many motorcycles with broken lights as in Thailand. New motorcycle lightbulbs cost 10-30 Baht each. Almost all cars in Thailand have tinted windows. At night, unlit motorcycles are almost invisible. The awareness and the laziness here, to take care of there own safety and to replace a broken lightbulb, is mindblowing.
  6. That depends on the airline and the ticket you have booked. With Emirates, for example, every rebooking is free and on top you also have Corvit insurance.
  7. I'm flying on November 1st with my approved COE. Costs: 7 days SHA + Hotel: 15,000 Baht 2 PCR test in Phuket: 5200 Baht 1 PCR test before departure: 2500 Baht Corvit insurance for 6 months: 5300 Baht Hotel transfer: 1000 Baht Total: 29,000 Baht around 760 euros. Those who can wait 1-2 weeks can save half or more with the new regulation.
  8. The same goes for Samui, Phangan, Tao. And the nightlife doesn't just consist of girly bars. The whole group of independent young solo and couple travelers has disappeared. The whole music, dance and party scene is dead. This group wants to party and drink, beach life, rent motorbikes, book sports activities (gym, diving, etc.), book excursions, yoga, cooking classes etc. Mostly book cheap accommodation in small Thai owned family resorts, eat at cheap street stalls. Many of them travel for several months and visit several countries. With all the travel restrictions, no drinks, no party, no fun, this group already went or will go to other destinations.
  9. It would be interesting to know how many flood prevention systems they could have built for the price of a submarine.
  10. Is also totally incomprehensible to me. So the whole pre-flight testing process becomes nonsensical.
  11. 9. testing negative for COVID-19, travellers can go anywhere in Thailand. Each traveller will receive an ATK that they have prepaid when booking the accommodation. Any traveller experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must immediately get a test done, using the provided ATK. If experiencing no symptoms, travellers must use the provided ATK for COVID-19 self-testing on Day 6-7, and show the result to staff at the hotel or accommodation, as well as record the result (bot detected and non-detected) in the MorChana App. You have to test yourself on the 6th-7th day? and show the result to the hotel staff? What if you live in your own house or condo? It is confusing.
  12. Talking is easy. But the organization and implementation is complex. The government is obsessed with controlling every single step every single tourist takes. - Visa - Hotel booking - flight data - Certificate of vaccination - Insurance - PCR tests - TM8 - TM6 - Tracking apps The whole thing was very staff-intensive for only 2 sandboxes (Phuket + Samui) and it worked halfway for a small number of "tourists". I think those responsible are gradually realizing that the current system cannot easily be scaled to a large number of tourists.

  14. You interpret this announcement differently. Let's see when the time comes and there is clarity.
  15. Oh well. The only strange thing is that Thais don't have to do a PCR test 72 hours before departure. https://asq.in.th/thailand-entry-requirements Who sit next to you in an full airplane is then not entirely unimportant. Step 6: Test (not required if Thai)
  16. If you want travel to Spain and you are fully vaccinated, you do not need a test before fly. This is the rule for most EU countries. There are also exceptions for certain countries with new virus mutations.
  17. The fit for fly document was abolished long time ago. Anut probably meant something else. These imprecise announcements only create more confusion.
  18. Is the Thailand Pass approved yet? No, it is set to be launched on November 1st. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also stated that you should apply 7 days before your arrival. Where is the Thailand Pass website? The website will be at https://thailandpass.go.th (not online yet). This means that you should not book your flight before November 7th. Thailand should take care not to complicate the whole thing even more.
  19. We must wait for clear announcements. 12. November you have enough time. In the worst case, you will have to re-enter all the paperwork into the Thai Pass application. But you would save 1 PCR test and possibly not must book a certain hotel for the whole time.
