US GOVT donates 5 million USD in COVID-19 assistance to Thailand
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The US doesn't need to donate any money. Thailand even has enough money to start its own space program for a trip to the moon. -
I do not understand this. Thailand has already an space agency since year 2000, called GISTDA Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency. The agency is owned by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Now the budget should be inflated and even more agencies to emerge just to shoot something on the moon in 7 years? Tax dollars are apparently in abundance. http://www.gistda.or.th/

Thailand to get 30 million Pfizer doses: Anutin
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Where else but in the human body does the virus mutate? The virus mutate in vaccinated and unvaccinated people. The virus is constantly mutating in its reproduction. The genome of RNA viruses changes about 1 million times faster than the human DNA genome. My objection was to the Pepsi2005 poster, who claimed that vaccinated people create the mutational pressure. For your last sentence I don't see it that way. As crazy as it is, the virus doesn't actually want to kill its host. -

The B.1.351 line (501Y.V2) - also called beta according to the new WHO nomenclature - first spread in South Africa. In addition to N501Y, there are other mutations (E484K, K417N) of the spike protein. The mutant very likely developed as a result of a high level of infection with the virus in the South African population. South Africa already recorded large-scale corona outbreaks in the summer of 2020. In the townships in particular, the virus found ideal conditions in which to spread. This means: many people were already immune to the original form of Sars-CoV-2 - the virus had to change. Researchers refer to such a situation as evolutionary pressure. Therefore, a new virus variant has prevailed that was superior to the original form because, among other things, it is more contagious. This example shows that if an unvaccinated population is completely infected, dangerous mutations can also arise. Your claim that the virus evolution pressure in the form of mutation is caused by vaccinations is therefore not correct. -

Not really. If an unvaccinated person uses their natural defense mechanism to fight off the virus, the virus also mutates. -

I wonder how long Bangkok Airways can hold out with only 10 passengers per flight. Or is there any government subsidy money for the airline? -

If it is absolutely necessary to have Chinese tests, they are available in Europe from 1.09 Euros net (without VAT) 1,09Euro = 42.25 baht Are the Kits for 70 Baht a piece really so much better? I guess the seller in Europe make also some small Profit. In bulk purchases they are definitely more cheaper. Maybe the Thais from the purchasing department should look again. Maybe they could save another 200 million baht there. -

https://www.massdevice.com/lepu-recalls-8m-covid-19-tests-due-to-risk-for-false-results/ What a coincidence. 8,4 million test recalled in the US. And now Thailand is buying 8,5 million. -
If international supply contracts are violated, this will certainly not be without consequences.

Since founding the party, Thanathorn has advocated his vision for the party: the return of civilian government and demilitarization of Thai politics, greater political accountability, a fairer distribution of wealth, a social welfare system that promotes human dignity and greater decentralization of power. A missed opportunity. In the end he was dismantled with all nasty Tricks.

Thailand can wait a long time. The idea of replacing corrupt politicians with other corrupt politicians has no future for the country. Taksin knows that the army government is currently weak in terms of popular support; and that the infantry of the army is made up mostly of the sons of poor farmer peasants. I hope that the honest politicians (there are actually some) can finally prevail against these corrupt robber gangs. But there is only little hope. All control institutions (unelected parliamentarians, NACC, courts ombutsman, press, critical voices, new democracy movements) have been systematically weakened over the years. In the past, the army had carried out its coups, but resigned then after quickly. This time it's different. Since 7 years now and nobody knows how long this condition will last.

Thai central bank eyes credit market to help kick-start economy- head
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So far, many have lived from their reserves and credit lines. The economic impact comes with a time lag. Many now have no more money and no income. This is now increasingly reflected in decline in demand. More production cuts, more Shop closings, rent losses, loan losses, tax losses, etc. The bottom is yet to come. The only thing that will increases is crime, theft, break-ins and robberies. -

Economically and ecologically this is threefold nonsense. 1. Taxpayer pays the bill. 2. Consumers have to pay more for the fruit. 3. The army is taking away the work of the freight forwarders. It's just a PR trick to raise the army's image. And maybe there is a small provision in the background as "Thank you".

I do not agree with you. But even in a highly tense situation, work can be carried out with care and a clear conscience. I am not thinking of the nurses and doctors either. I am thinking more of the regulators who create the framework for doctors and nurses. When vaccines are distributed to friends and acquaintances at the side who can be shown to skip the waiting list, when excessive prices are charged for vaccines and someone fills their pockets privately, when vaccination appointments are canceled because there is no vaccine, when there are orders with vaccines Suppliers are publicly postulated and in truth there is no contract? if vaccination numbers are postulated that are not correct, if the general population is deliberately misinformed. Why shouldn't a judge decide and why should legal action be categorically excluded?
