  1.  As long as they have enough money it is not a problem of course, on the other hand, I used the term stranded because it was the title of this article, but not all of them are "stranded" for sure.
But I reckon I thought there were not so many tourists still on Koh Samui because I go/went sometimes to the Lamai beach it was deserted all the time, on a 2/3 kilometres beach I saw hardly a dozen of people and most beach resorts were closed.

In the meantime take care everyone.????

  2. I just discovered that 5700 foreign tourists are still stranded on Koh Samui! I did not believe it was still so many,

with 3,300 foreign tourists on Koh Phangan and about 1,000 on Koh Tao. It is 10,000 on the 3 Islands, I thought it was a few hundreds maybe 2/3 thousands not more!

I am not sure I can give the link... to the Thaiger?

Some of those people seem to have real money problems and since it is not for tomorrow that the planes will start flying again.

I wonder how the authorities will solve this problem? Because 10,000 people is a real problem to manage.

  3.  Maybe, I say maybe there is a problem wth payments  in shops with the coronavirus?

My wife being stranded in Isaan, before yesterday I bought something in Lazada to send her and would have like to pay on 7/11 but the option to pay in shops was in grey and impossible to use, So she will have to pay on delivery, but in the past, I did use this payment a few times, so why it is in grey and not usable now?

Perhaps the management of these stores prefers to limit the number of contacts???

  4. Are the planes for mail and parcels still flying between countries? I thought the borders were closed.

Because I received an email from the French civil status service that my birth certificate was sent to me on March 6th, I never received it.

It is the first time in 8 years I do not receive a mail.

hmmmmmm     Well, you seem like you are an expert.   Please tell me why the US dollar,

which is manufactured out of thin air as zeros are added on to the ........err, BALANCE SHEET...

added on faster than one can count  .    try counting to a trillion   5555

How come the dollar does not have the same fate as Zimbabwe paper ?

Note:  No problem for me.  They send me a small amount every month  ????

An expert? It was pure irony!

How the Baht can still be less than 35 Bahts for a Euro when we read in this article: Thai economy suffering worst damage since 1950s

Is the department of land transport open for new/renew licences during all this chaos? I think I was told that they are only open for tax and registration.

    Can anyone confirm?

I went yesterday for my motorbike tax, yes they were open for the tax, but for new?renew licence I am not sure at all, because people must stay together for the colors and brake test, for paying the tax one people one minute at the counter not same!

It is correct that NO 90-day reporting is required during the amnesty period.

So there is no need to visit your local IO to do it in person until the amnesty has been lifted (currently till April 30 but for sure to be prolonged).

However, it is recommended to do it on-line (during the 15 days before till due date window).  Many reports of people doing this, so the on-line 90-day reporting website clearly works.

Note that if you did not report on-line during the 15-day window before your 90-day reporting due date, that it is possible that the on-line reporting function won't work for you again after the amnesty period as your 90-day report window would have expired, and that would require you to do it in person (or by mail).

I love the difference between theory and practise, I tried online in Samui, allow me to say I not a newbie with a computer, my same address email is more than 15 years old and I had a few more before. Since 1990 I always worked with computers starting with the antediluvian Mac SE30 with a small black and white screen, so I would modestly say that I manage to find a solution most of the time, which was not the case this time for my 90 days online, I decided to send all my documents by mail in time with an 18 Baths stamped envelope for the return but no news at all from Samui immigration. I went my self on March 10th a day before my appointment being a Saturday when the office is close, maybe they had no calendar available? And had my next appointment for Jully 8th in five minutes which will avoid me from being trampled on when they decide
to open the valves again for everyone at the same time!

  8.  As in eight years I had never been asked for my motorcycle license in Koh Samui I guess I thought it was a good idea pointing it out to the members who are on Samui since talking with the police officer he told me, lai naktongtio mai me baikapkee now we were told to ask for it. ( all in Tai of course)

(it's anecdotal but I note that as soon as we speak Thai with them it triggers a smile and not the opposite as some like to tell us and probably they will say things in Thai that they would not have said in their three words of poor English)

I already imagined that if they start asking for driver's licenses, they must surely not let someone who does not have a valid license leave with the same vehicle, since in the same time automatically he has no insurance.

So I thought if it can help some members knowing it so much the better. I must admit that even at my age I am still candid ????

  9. I suppose that for the majority of expats we have a Thai driving license, but I just wanted to say that this morning going from Lamai to Nathon I was stopped by a police checkpoint while I was wearing my helmet.

All that they asked me was my driving license, very first time in eight years in Koh Samui, I speak Thai enough to speak 5 minutes with the police, I told him it's the first time in eight years  I was asked me for my license, he told me now we're going to ask for them, "lai farang mai me" he saw in my wallet that I also had the one for the car, he put a thumbs up smiling, saying very good in English.

I allow myself to tell that because I do not know what would happen to the one who would not have his license and could he leave with his motorcycle not sure ?

The long time was a compliment nothing more. In the commercial gym my workouts are longer like 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour. In my home gym its under an hour most of the time for 20 sets. No waiting less rest as in the gym between exercises.

I know very well that you are not agressive with anyone so I did not defend myself, it was just a precission????

Nothing wrong with TRX and two hours.. wow.. that is a long time.

Not so long 60 reps per exercise plus some streching in between, at my own pace between an hour and a half and two hours.

With in addition 30 minutes of pranayama breathing in the morning 30 minutes in the evening.

And since I am in detail LOL 2X 20 minutes of a German method of relaxation the Autogenic Training of the doctor Schultz (I'm not German) and I've been doing this last one daily for ... thirty years????

I have a chat with Thais or foreigners after a workout or between exercises. So there is some socialising and I like it. It can also be motivating to see other people.

But my homegym is great it has most things still it can never have all the stuff a commercial gym has. I am mainly missing out on leg exercises, and i loved the weighted abb machine and some other stuff. Sure I can make due in my home gym. I have for years and grew some muscle in it too.

But recently i just switched just to be "out" for a while and the gym was like 5 minutes on the motorbike from my home. So not too far.

But now in lockdown I am happy to have my home gym still.

I have a homme gym too but I guess it is much cheaper than yours ???? and however I do two hours every single day ????

A real alcohol addicted always has booze in stock or can make it himself, within a few days or a week you can make your wine or distilling clean alcohol high grade. Every Thai knows how to do that.

You are right, but provided one has a place to do it and the possibility of getting by for the equipment, I am not saying that it is difficult, but tens of thousands of alcoholics will not be able to do it.

I candidly believed that everyone knew that great alcoholics could not be deprived of alcohol overnight without serious consequences ... I was wrong, in this government, they did not know ????

Trump will slaughter Biden. Biden has so many skeletons in the cupboard, the biggest being that Hunter Biden.

Biden has nothing going for him....no momentum, no excitement, no energy, he's dull...old and dull and creepy.

We need either Michelle Obama to run. the Dems can overturn the primary results in their conference where special delegates get votes not tied to candidates.

Joe Biden is a loser, why even field him, he needs to be boiled down for glue.

With Michelle Obama it would look like an MMA fight I would love to be in the front row, OK we have the right to dream LOL ????

That depends upon your local immigration office. Not all offices want you to show your bank book to prove the 800k is still the bank 3 months after you apply.

Sorry to bother you Joe but are you sure, or do you know, if every immigration offices accept the 800 000 Bahts only two months before the annual extension instead of three months before? My extension being July 30th in case of doubt I must send money for the complement to the right sum this month otherwise I could wait one month more. Thank you.
