Er, I think covid cost more.

The IMF saw a far more optimistic scenario as recently as January. The pre-outbreak economic situation was poised to improve GDP per capita in 160 countries. Yet the pandemic has quickly plunged the world into "a global recession we have not seen in our lifetimes," the director said, leaving governments racing to avoid a total meltdown.

The organization has pledged to use its $1 trillion lending capacity to aid nations through the health crisis, but Georgieva emphasized the importance of nations getting ahead of the economic damage. Major economies have already unleashed trillions of dollars in stimulus and central bank easing, but rampant aid needs to be kept in check for long-term recovery, she added.

But I fully agree with you my dear Sir ????

By:"It never occurred to you that all these deaths and even more these many injured for not wearing a helmet cost a fortune to this country!"

I just answered "If I not wear my helmet, I die. Up to me. Not your business" ????

Again, they was given soft warnings first!

They choose to continue swimming. Then municipal officers in blue uniform, called the police.

This could easily been avoided, with a surprised face, I didn't know, and a Wai, case dismissed.

These russians choose deliberately to continue swimming. No more excuses.

I had made as I said this remark, but it is obvious that if it was with full knowledge of the facts they were wrong of course.
Besides in Thailand as a Westerner, one has to be a bit stupid not to respect the laws and regulations, so that problems do not fall on us at the first opportunity.
I prefer to give first the benefit of the doubt, but otherwise, I will not feel sorry for these people!

  3. Before throwing them at the dogs as some do, according to the place where they entered the beach we cannot be certain that they saw the prohibition sign, any more than they understood what the first Thais wanted to tell them. Nooo I don't defend them it's just a remark!

I have never been in favor of stoning without knowing the details... while some do not go out without their bags of stones????

Yeah, all this disregard for safety.

    Its messing with my mind.

It is not only disregard for safety but also disrespect of the law, all these foreigners who drive without a helmet, probably the majority in Koh Samui, would not last long without being arrested by the police in their own countries. I who have ridden on a whole bunch of small and large motorcycles all my life I think it's taking a stupid risk to ride without helmet. And even on my little PCX 150 I have a good quality full face helmet...

I do it by mail to Sri Racha immigration, they steal the stamped self addressed envelopes for the stamps and never send me a receipt.

Me too in Samui, seeing nothing was coming back I went to the office and they did it in two minutes. My next yearly extension being July 30th, my next 90 days appointment is for july 8th I will go have a look anyway. I would not say that I have the same distrust of immigration as for a venomous snake, no!... but I take the same precautions ????
