    Hi Peter / Max

Thanks for taking the time to respond - very much appreciated.

Wife is English - marriage certificate was notarised in the US about six years ago (complicated story!)

Have already arranged her passport on "follow me" basis

800K in my name only since January

Annual health insurance arranged via a Thai broker is with Pacific Cross (cost a fortune!!)

Tenancy contract runs to end June 2021

Looks like I am good to go and IO has just given me four sleepless nights for nothing!

    Still love it here though!!

    Really appreciated guys

    Cheers

Could I ask you Sir what do you mean by a fortune, I am 75 and I paid ten thousand five hundred Bahts for this mandatory insurance! I guess it is not "a good insurance" for that price but it was mainly for the new rule and it was accepted by the immigration.

I always thought that a immediate hospital visit was essential after being bitten by one of those things. R.I.P.

My wife saw it on TV. The man said he didn't know what stung him and so wait five days before going to a hospital!

Moreover, they said that when it goes as far as the death it would be due to the onset of a severe allergy and not to the venom itself.

I have some of those beast in my garden I never handle any more dead leaves, for example, without garden leather gloves.

The review was extreme. And there was obviously alot of animus on both sides. But, who had the most to lose?

    1. Thailand and the reputation of Thai tourism.

    2. This resort. Major egg on their face.

    3. In the long run, the tourist lost the least. He will be soon forgotten. Not the incident.

Yes sure! But also most people reading about this story had not seen the review itself I have seen it on Yahoo US,  a tourist could be jailed for a hotel review, nothing more!

As for the American man, being not a tourist but working in Thailand, maybe now he will have to be careful not sure that everyone will forget him including immigration ? I don't wish him because with my principles I don't wish harm to anyone so all the better if I'm wrong.

I see your post is really helpful as well, plus you re-post mine just in case anyone missed it.

It just seems odd to me that someone would spend that kind of dough on a car and then complain that the parts are expensive.

The price did not seem that high to me.

Sorry sir but I did not re-post, but to answer one's need to quote,  otherwise it would not be understandable. My post did not intended to be useful I was joking that's not against the forum rules ????

  5. In fact this article, "it seems"  does not say a third of a quarter of what really happened, or at least what we saw in detail on TV, in a completely different version.

First the culprit had taken yaba just before, and he was thirsty said he, so he came into the store without a mask to buy a bottle of water, the shopkeeper refused to sell him despite his pleas, then pretending he had a crazy look she called a guard, who came and told him to leave

First I want to buy a bottle of water I'm too thirsty, no get out of here right away. So mad with anger he would have taken a knife from the store that he used against the guard who was trying to pull him out and also the two other people present, not at all the same story but then not at all, I don't want to believe either one more than the other I just relate this second version we heard my wife and I !

Eh? Two processes are independent of each other, the 90 days next report still stands (if you are still here or haven't overstayed)..

yes of course Sir,  but before my last 90 days report was always a few days before my extension, never after, and ignoramus people who should follow this date naively,  because it was written by immigration would be not only in overstay but incapable to have the next extension.

  7. Exactly the same happened to me in Samui, by the way for the first time in years, my one-year extension for retirement was due to last July the 30th,

but my appointment for my 90 days was for the end of  August I saw it immediately, so I went back, the girl told me, no problem you just come one week or ten days before, no need to change the date!

The last day of my extension the mandatory insurance was not settle,  they gave me a few days more, so my extension was done for good only August the 3rd  and this extension does nor run till July 30th 2021 like it should have been logically  but till August 3rd 2021 (366 days)

Hard to believe so this year my extension is one year and 5 days.

This article is nonsense, show me where Australia add hundreds new cases per day.

Only in Victoria the have a few dozens per day in Western Australia we had not a

local transmission for months Norther Territory had none for months only a few

in NSW nothing in SA or Tassie who writes this nonsense?

Australia was mentioned nowhere for Europe for instance he is absolutely right in France only ten of thousands of new cases!
