It would also depend on if the kid was secured in either a seat or seat belt, which is required by law too, but probably not.

I can see why the Police would fine her, however isn't the matter of a naked toddler, being put in harms way a matter for social services? I'd love to see them do something about this constant stream of child endangerment we see here on a daily basis. I think we all accept both foreigners and Thai that there will be no change in regards to safety measures from the Police side, maybe hitting them with social services might do more.

Best remember there is law but no one needs obey it, do what you want when and if you want. That is the driving culture here, so simply put;drive allowing for that mentality and it's much easier to avoid them.

Yea, it can happen, I started an expat small bike club and we go touring all over Thailand for days, everywhere, including into the jungle etc. Cheap trip and good to see the real countryside and local peoples. We're off again end of this month, back around Kanchanaburi and up and over the mountains, but I have seen a lot of people in the same situation, suddenly retired and to unable to make that transition from being at work too retired, it's a lot easier said than done. A few friends and bit of motivation and life improves rapidly.

When I'm driving with Thai people I point blank refuse to move the vehicle until everyone has got their belts on, the time it takes is unreal with god knows what excuses, but now my missus simply says to them " put it on or he will not move" so they do but what a fiasco.

No passport. And there is no way I would be able to find this guy. I don't know anything about bikes or bike damage. Plus I am on a tourist island where I know there are many "scams". So I am indeed in a pickle. The original owner of the bike has taken the bike. The owner of the bike says the Honda Dream retains its value and is worth that much because they are no longer made. And vintage. ????
Not it doesn't, a bike that old wouldn't get 5k for it. Look in the classified you'll see yourself. My old Honda Wave110 I sold recently was only 8 years old can only just get 10 for that, they're trying to scam you big time.

What queue? With nobody waiting for a break in oncoming traffic, why would there be a queue? This is basically a poor-boy version of a U-Turn bridge, and they rarely have queues.
Of course, that's exaggeration, but if the lane is moving, there's much less temptation to jump to the front of it. It's when the lane is backed up 200-500+ meters and not moving at all that people jump the queue.
Edit: and even if people do jump the queue, the objective is to keep traffic at different speeds separate while the turning vehicles have some room to accelerate and merge smoothly and safely. Which this design accomplishes. Not perfect, but certainly an improvement.
Yeah that was part of my point if it did get busy, just because of volume of traffic. A better idea though.
-
Will only work if they make it impossible to cut in at the front of the queue, because with this new design it still seems they could use the other lanes to push up ahead and then cut in, therefore making it pointless.

Actually yes something can be done, I've done it twice quite recently myself. Go the the Amphur office tell them the problem and there is department which deals with this, they will come out see who owns the dogs, issue a warning to them that if the dogs are not off the street they will be removed in 7 days. Any unknown dogs will be removed, if people say it's not true I;m telling you I;ve done this twice already and its worked.

Funny someone mentioned kids safety seat, every morning I take my kid to nursery in her safety seat, and when I drive up every other car driver dropping off their kids won't open their doors until I've gone in dropped her off and got back in the car, to begin with I thought it was just me but it's cause they're being shamed because not one of their kids are being restrained in their respective cars and it embarrasses them, I can see it in their faces. So they know it's wrong but just don't do anything about it.

The factors that cause road accidents, it's very simple, Thai people do not think they have to obey the law, there we go that's it done. Sort this out and you're nearly cured.

Looks like a common Keelback to me, cause ratsnakes are usually pretty fast on the ground.

This looks like a Burmese Python, not quite as aggressive as the Reticulated but still a handful.

You can do something we had a similar problem and there is a department within local government assigned to deal with this problem, go to the local Ampur office tell them what is going on and there are people who will come out issue a warning and if it isn't adhered to within 7 days the dogs will be removed. We've used it twice because of dogs coming in to kill my chickens. Most recent was only 3 weeks ago and the two dogs responsible have both been removed and re-homed by their owners under guidance from local office. Also I was compensated for loss of my birds too.

Won't they have to translate the paperwork first? That could take several years...lol.

Just wondering if you're outside building, you might be experiencing the same as what happened to me a couple of years ago. I had some type of plant which grows wild and throws off lots of spores which leads to this insane itching, so bad you want to rip your skin off, the only remedy I got was hot shower and a scrub to remove whatever spores had attached to me. I remember after the scrub my skin felt like it was glowing, it was that bad.

Surely the embassy must be responsible for the child's welfare? Putting the kid out there is obviously putting her in potential harm so wouldn't they come too her aid?

I'm amazed the bus drivers can ever see out the windscreen with all the crap they have cluttering up their view, maybe using the windscreen as it was designed for might help!

All comments about him are absolutely right but just one point on the death and serious injuries, I've seen the other pics and again looks like all head injuries and looks like no-one is wearing a helmet. So like you said he deserves his fate but to add. would they of been so seriously hurt if they too had obeyed the law and wore helmets? It will make interesting reading to see what his defence makes of it.

Anyone watch the disgraceful charade on TV over this, literally every man trying to get in on the act. I found it very embarrassing and must be hard for the families............oh we never thought of that, my wife was watching it like a Lakhorn until I switched it off.

Maybe they should try using the bins instead of throwing all their rubbish everywhere and blocking all the channels might help!

Yep I saw this happen a couple of years ago near me, except the snake was a Monocled Cobra, and the guy was riding toward me as the snake crossed towards him, he was doing about 50km and it still struck fast enough to catch his flip flop, we stopped and had a look a safe distance away, and could see the fang marks in the back of his footwear, they are incredibly fast.

I had nearly the same situation a couple of years ago, I found a nice phone on the ground near a motorbike shortcut, so got the missus to trace the owner and she came round my house to collect it, but I'll never forget her comment, "if a Thai person had found it I wouldn't of got it back" absolutely true, that did surprise me at the time. Not now so much.

I'm trying too work out why nearly everyone has guns? Who is controlling issuing of permits? If you're not police on duty or Military on duty, where is the need to have a gun? Is it the glamorizing of guns as a cool social ad don as seen on TV that's fueling this obsession?

Could anyone tell me what days and times the office is open? Thanks
