  1. Austin Racing.......Now things are not going well, so he wants to claim the car 100%? Gimme a break!!! Sorry folks, pitiful i know, but I do not know how to copy the thread and make it highlighted to respond to a comment on this forum ???? Suggestions? Austin, you are creating a lot of story from my post. You are concluding things that i never posted. You might want to examine this behavior, as it may be causing a lot of frustration in your life. To set the record straight, I paid every one of her expenses for 11 years, plus i paid for everything that we did together. She had a Fat job, making Fat money. She spent all of the money she earned and some on a business that i loaned her alot of money over 4 years, to create and build, so she could quit her job. The business is doing very well. Bottom line, She brought another man onto the scene and told me to go. She is threatening me legally, so I am just trying to assert where i stand on money that is in my thai account, that she has never had any part of. Im not trying to rip her off!!! Austin, I do believe your accusations of me are actually "fair" because those type of scenarios do occur a lot in Thailand but if you knew us, you would understand that they could not be farther from the reality of our time together. I bent over backwards to support her and She used me like a bar of soap. enough already.... This post was made to learn how money in a personal account from overseas would be treated in a court of law!
  2. I lived with my Thai partner 11 years after a big wedding, that created a marriage which was never legally registered. The lawyers all say that we would be viewed as a "Life partners" and all assets accumulated, while together, would be split 50/50 in a Thai Court. Would this 50% include money that i brought into Thailand, from another country, during our 11 years together? This money is not "earned income" from Thailand, so I would expect it would NOT be viewed as money that was contributed to the relationship. I am seeking clarity on how would this money, that is parked in a Thai bank account be viewed in the 50/50 scenario? Would she be entitled to 50%? if so, why? Please only comment if you have experience or knowledge of this 50/50 matter. PLease no assumptions, thoughts or opinions. Thanks!
  3. Please only comment if you have experience or knowledge in this matter....No Opinions or thoughts Please!!!.... Has anyone ever tried to obtain an X's bank statements in Thailand, for a legal dispute? Is it even possible w a court order? For my personal account, Kasikorn bank is demanding that i obtain a police report, before they will provide detailed statements over 4 years old.... a police report for my own records!!! I cannot imagine how hard it will be to get another persons records. Lawyers say they can get these records with a court order but I question how true this is. Has anyone successfully been able to get bank records of another in Thailand, via court order? Thanks!
  4. 10 years ago a Thai lawyer, that I can unfortunately not locate today, told me the following in an email: "If a Buddhist wedding ceremony takes place with photos to document it, then the Supreme Court has split the assets based on a “Life Partnership” arrangement. This was when there were wedding pictures and the couple was known as husband and wife but never registered the marriage. According to the Thai law, the Thai authorities will sometimes recognize a relationship as a “Life Partnership”, not a marriage, which can allow a partner to claim 50% of the assets derived during the relationship." Does anyone know of or have experience about this? and or, can anyone recommend a lawyer that can clarify this for me. Thanks, and PLEASE DO NOT leave “just your opinion” because it may sidetrack the discussion thread. “Experienced Only” need respond. Thanks!!!
  5. So what is really going on? Could it be that all these places are purchasing Lo THC CBD buds to resell? Im not accusing, i just don't understand this at all. Its gonna be interesting to see how many people respond to this thread equally disappointed about the lack of Buzz. I find the entire ordeal to be quite bizarre.......Legal? not Legal? who cares, if it doesn't get you high anyway?! Hopefully enough people will speak up and shops will offer money back guarantee's.....why not? who would want to return for money back if the weed was really good?
  6. Yeah but who is really measuring the THC in the buds being sold? The label may say 24% THC but come on...... I asked one shop, "how do you know the THC level"? He said, "oh, you can just go online and look up the strain". I believe what is being sold in most shops is VERY LOW THC/CBD flower (and the public is getting taken for a big ride)........at least that has been my experience from multiple disappointing purchases.
  7. Jim, Please tell me how you are certain that "no bank in Thailand" offers POD? Are you by chance a attorney practicing in Thailand? Thanks!
  8. Im talkin 600b Up, labeled hi THC that doesn't get you high....They like to claim its from California....prob CA-CBD which is what allows them to import it and like you said, sell as High THC. Most of the clerks in the shops don't even smoke weed or are new to it and don't have a clue.
  9. Any one notice how these beautiful strains that claim High THC barely even get you high? a good bong hit of 20% THC should STONE a person for at least an hour right??? 5 bongs of this stuff is barely noticeable... I have purchased from many shops in C Mai and yet to get stoned from one purchase.
  10. Thanks Zaphod but that is definitely INCORRECT. I sold life insurance for 25 years in the states and was very active in Estate Planning. The policy needs to be owned by an entity or someone else for it to be considered "out of the estate". Google "incidence of ownership" of life insurance for more clarity.
  11. Does anyone here know of any US citizen who left life insurance proceeds to a Non-Spousal, non-US citizen Thai beneficiary and if Estate tax was withheld by the US? I am seeking clarity on how death benefits that i leave to my Thai girlfriend would be treated, specifically Tax code support of how the Unified Credit applies to a non-US citizen beneficiary. To keep it simple, lets use this scenario: A US Citizen who is not married and has a US address and files a tax return annually. His net worth is minimal and he will leave $300,000 death benefit to a Thai girlfriend who is not a US Citizen and does not live in the USA. Would the $300,000 be subject to Estate taxes? Where can i obtain tax code support? and yes i have combed the IRS website and spoken to a number of professionals with various opinions and assumptions but nothing concrete. Anybody know of anyone who experienced something like this??? Thanks
  12. Thanks, but I have taken many close looks. Im not a tax professional either, but i worked in Estate planning (funding trust w life insurance) for 25 years. The personal exemption you speak of is called the Unified Credit and it, like the unlimited Marital Deduction, does not apply to non-US citizen beneficiaries that are Thai, because the US does not have an Estate Tax treaties with Thailand, as it does with many countries. Insurance proceeds will be subject to estate taxes when paid to a non-US citizen that does not live in a country that the US has a tax treaty with.
  13. Greetings! I was in the Life insurance business in the USA for 25 years. The products are very different in Thailand. Have any expats here purchased Level Term Life insurance in Thailand? If so, from what company? I own plenty of life insurance in the states but the amount I want to leave to my Thai Wife will be slammed with Estate Taxes from the USA (because Unified credit does not apply to Non-US citizens). I am hoping to purchase a level term product with her the owner and beneficiary. Does anyone know anything about the availability of level term products in Thailand? Thanks!
  14. Anyone know how i can delete this post? i was able to name a beneficiary on a new account with Kasikorn, after being told years ago that i could not at a different branch. So i expect the funds won't be probated. Better to just delete this post if can but how??? I realize i can edit reply but how can i delete or edit a post???
