I got my first shot of Pfizer vax at Central Festival on August 25th. Having lived in Thailand for the last 15 years, I have learned that nothing promised here is ever certain. Rules and availability of various items change almost daily. Add to that the up and down situations with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines at BHP, and I have been concerned since that first shot about the availability of Pfizer vax for my second shot, scheduled on the 15th. I will remain concerned until it's injected! ... That said, I have to ask the OP if the friend he mentioned was trying to get his FIRST or SECOND shot. That's an important point. I would HOPE that they reserved enough Pfizer to ensure that there would be enough to provide a second dose for those who got one, and were given an appointment slip for the second. ... BUT - TIT!
1.9 mil doses only go so far since healthcare workers got 500k to 600k jabs. Should be another shipment i think of 10 mil coming here between Oct and Dec 2021. I think a total of 30 mil by year end of Pfizer. Things are looking better here

So it looks like you have to live in or near a big city to get Pfizer. I signed up on the expat webpage August 1. Got confirmation email but no word since. I am 64 and live in the Loei Province. Flying to USA for holidays next month. Will get both jabs of Moderna while I am there. I would have preferred to get vaccinated with Pfizer before I leave.

Are these latest Promenada Pfizer jabs part of the 2.5 million donated by the USA government?
yes

This government is not very smart. Nothing should be opened until they reach 70% of full vaccination in Thailand. Not just Bangkok and Phuket but the whole country. They are not thinking of the 4 other variants that are in 40 other countries that will be here after Delta. They care more about tourism then peoples lives . Very sad

I cannot understand that the Government mentions the 70+ as risk group, while some 40- got an appointment for a jab already and some 70+ still did not get any reply from expatvac?????
Same here, 64 years old and signed up August 1. This is a joke

What we're seeing is a symptom of governments not believing that the vaccines work effectively.
It's kind of hard to tell until we look back on the numbers in a few years time so I guess almost every government in the world is proceeding with draconian restrictions which devastate their economies just in case, Thailand is no exception here. They started dreaming up these quarantine schemes very early on in the process.
quarantine Scam Not a scheme

I wonder whether there will be a flip flop and plan change again.
Thailand should only open the country when herd immunity has been reached.
I agree 100% but you know they wont wait that long

So I have had sinovac/AZ.
If I have a booster of AZ will I be counted as having been vaccinated properly, i.e. two doses of the same vaccine?
I would think so, but you never know with these guys

So if you live in northern Thailand like me and have lived here for 11 years . I guess i am out of luck when I return from USA fully vaccinated with negative test in Dec. Still have to quarantine for 14 days?

Have read that the Pfizer vaccine can only be stored for 30 days. Believe that is why most 2nd shots are within 2-3 weeks
Well they received 1.5 mil July 30 and not sure when the 1 mil got here. Supply must be running low

Okay, so Biden totally screwed up America's withdrawal from Afghanistan with all the planning of an organised Lemming, so he got a few people killed, okay, but look how well he hugs children in disaster areas, so caring and so spontaneous, so warm.
How could such an excellent hugger not get re-elected?
Good hugger and loves to smell little kids hair.

What I like about Biden is he is not perfect. He's one of us. He had the guts to stand up and spend his twilight years changing the world. So far pretty good in my opinion. Afghanistan is a moot point, but if you accept they had to go sometime, then once again he had the courage to take action and risk his popularity in the process.
A moot point! His poll numbers are in the tank. 43% approval and sinking. He sure has you Democrats fooled. Everything he does is scripted. He either reads off flash cards or a teleprompter because his dementia is eating his brain away. His press conferences with the press are a joke. He has the Questions and answers from the reporters he calls on. That's why you see him look down at his flash cards so much . Then their is the lies he tells. He is not fooling anyone. He is to busy making a fool of himself. Keep watching CNN and MSNBC for more liberal fake news

A typical Liberal response to a disastrous Afghanistan exit policy. Leaves Americans stranded there, Hands over 85 BILLION dollars in military equipment to a terrorist organization , Lets the Taliban be in charge of securing the airport , the Taliban lets through suicide bombers to blow up 13 Marines and 140 incident Afghan people . No wonder liberals want everyone to forget about this.

They need to stop the 14 day quarantine for international travelers especially if they are fully vaccinated with a negative test. Many people do not want to do the sandbox. Many people want the freedom to travel around Thailand
