Easy and very quick to unplug first. No high energy elec potential stored in a fan, so ok to unplug then throw water.

But the night here, is the notion that a fan would spark so much as to create a very fast total burn down fire...hhmmm. where did the sparks go? Did they fly off in all directions and by shear bad luck all land on super ready primed surfaces to ignite? That's one hell of a death trap. Can't see it all kicking off so fast. Maybe the guy fell asleep for some significant time, whilst things slowly took hold?

Obviously you have never used an electric arc welder,,,,,the heat from the current is instant....

They chop the DC to pieces, f.ex. 10% duty rate out of 220 is 22V. There might be a transformer component connected to this chopped up line that may further reduce the voltage and provide galvanic isolation. Wikipedia has an article on the buck-boost and flyback converters. In the traditional transforming power supply you'd have the transformer on the AC side followed by a diode bridge.

It's usually easy to see if it's a switching one, the input voltage has a wide range such as 110-220V, simple transformer power sources have a small operating voltage range.

More garbage...show me a step down DC transformer.

There is no electical approval regulation in Thailand that I know of.

Shops can sell any appliance they can make money on.

Its different of course to most developed nations.

The failure of a phone charger can allow the mains voltage to pass to the secondary and to the phone.

As the bed and the human have a large surface area, the capacitance is the return path and can supply enough current to stop the heart.

An ELCB or SAFETY SWITCH would generally detect this loss of return current and trip the switch within 30 milliseconds and save lives

    Absolute garbage

I do listen to advice, but listening to all advice is just as bad of an idea as not listening to any advice. If I had listened to everybody telling me I need to invest in gold in 2012, I would have lost a lot of money. I've lived in Thailand for 6 years. I understand the country as well as someone can after living in mainly Thai towns for the last 6 years, but real estate and investing (for the most part) I do not understand.

You might want to do some research on the requirements of the purchasing monies being brought into Thailand from another country as well. From what I understand the money cannot be 'Thai' money as such.

Forget about doing business in Thailand with ease. I've been helping a Thai friend setting up a business and it has taken 2 months, a lot of frustration and resources wasted just to have it moved to another country. Unless you want to do business solely IN Thailand and don't need to do anything international then you could give it a try, otherwise don't even think about it. Like others say, only invest that much in Thailand that you are willing to lose.

If you need to be in the region but have to do international business then i recommend you to look at HongKong and Singapore.

People who say otherwise clearly have no experience doing international business FROM Thailand. I wish i could be more positive because i'm quite the problemsolver with a proactive attitude, but in Thailand that just doesn't work.

    Unfortunately you sound like a comp,lete <deleted>

As I stated bone head I take my own shopping bag, you need to sign up for the how to read English course, however be aware it will probably take you a long time, to grasp the subject.

  7. Tell me anywhere on the planet that a guy doesn't pay for sex in one form or another. Porn star actors excluded.

Meet a girl....buy a few drinks...you have paid old son.

In the morning she might need a taxi....you have paid again.

If you really want to meet a 'nice' girl with no expenses attached try going to a library or museum and be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort....then marry her......and you will still pay.

Most of the good lawyers are members of Thai Visa. It is a simply question. that a lawyer can answer. The guy still needs a lawyer to extend the lease, if it can be done at all. This save the guy two hours traveling in a car or taxi, to ask the question.

It also amazes me that people like you care so much ; to complain. Why even open the thread ? You know the people will ask a question !

    Just move along.

Name a few - Thai lawyers that is.

I'm sure they would love the free advertising.

t has been my experience that Thai women about 40 tend to dispense with sex. Not good for a 20 something male. Not all of course but it is very possible. They think they are too old.

Wow.....you have had really limited experience.

Mine has been the complete opposite  - Thai ladies 40 plus often are left alone for an extended period and when the chance comes for a bit of kiss and giggle they take to it like ducks to water - even those who have developed a tom relationship while alone.

Mature women, the world over, are the best lovers in my opinion. It's usually only the sexpat barhangers who chase the 25-30 year olds and then end up with a lot of disappointment and a lot less money than they originally had.

Many Thai ladies are still as sexy as hell well into their 50's.

As the old saying goes, they don't tell, they don't swell and they are as grateful as hell!

  11. She said that many parties have objected to the plan to use the government budget for this insurance scheme.

I agree, why should my taxes pay for a foreigners medical expenses - just ask the foreigners when entering the country to show proof of medical insurance to an agreed amount before a Visa is granted

and at every extension application and 90 day report. Seasoned of course so that people cannot take a policy one day and cancel it the next.

    Sounds fair?

    Can't get insurance...sorry...out you go.

  12. if I was a president of any country I would simply ban the entry of all Nigerian nationals, plain and simple !!, any criminal caught will be sent to a North Korean style detention center, worse then the Soviet Gulag and I will put videos on national TV and internet, here is the treatment reserved for anyone coming from Africa and dealing with drugs.

What if you were the president of Nigeria?

  13. So let me count...hmmmm we have 2 Asians and 1 African.now we are waiting for the nationality of these people...oh sorry 1 of them is Thai...how about the 2 others.

1 Thai, 2 foreigners, one Muslim Nigerian and another Nigerian. I too was confused with the Muhammed one - first I thought it could be a Muslim Thai because the last name sort of sounds Thai the "yong" at the end being the key. In reality we now have confirmation this is actually a Nigerian name.

Tomtomtom sounds Thai too. if you don't know what I mean ask any gay Thai lady.

  14. Thailand Thailand Thailand....my ex brother in law is a chartered surveyor in the UK and makes a very good living inspecting buildings for clients who are intesested in puchasing said buildings - industrial/commercial buildings, particularly those built in the 1970's for the problems described here.

It's commonly called concrete cancer and is a worldwide phenomenon.

  15. Everyone sees things differently , but if someone threatened my daughter,

he is automatically a dead man......

get your ass home and arm yourself, with some kind of weapon, face the bastard and be ready to hurt him bad! it has to be bad or he will come after your family when you are not around. there are other things you can do but it would be unlawful to post them here, but I will tell you a story. in 1970 a taxi driver shot one of out flight crew member in Ubon because the taxi drivers wife was going to run off with the G.I. the police at that time could care less, so we hired a known Thai that we trusted to go after the taxi driver who had fled to laos and reach out and touch him! we required proof of the touhhcing, withing two weeks we had the proof. it cost us seven hundred dollars which was a fortune at the time but it did get the job done!

I wonder if there is a statute of limitations on contract murder?

You are a brave man posting this on here. I sincerely hope you don't actually live in Thailand as you could be in for an interesting time with your next interaction with immigration.

Possibly also in your home country - presumably the USA - someone may be very interested in your confession.

  16. And the crux of the problem is multiple choice examinations.

Draw a picture and ask for a written description...i.e the dog is next to the house, or the dog is sitting next to the house, the dog lives at the house. That would be , and used to be, a far better method of gauging comprehension and language skills and creative thinking than silly multiple choice exams which were invented by so called educational experts (supported by lazy teachers and their unions).

How confident would you be knowing that the guy operating on the cornea of your eye gained his degree by answering multiple choice exam questions? Hope he guesses right with the scalpel better than 1 in 4.

Education is about preparing people for the big bad world as an adult, unfortunately many teachers never have to live in that world since they never leave the school environment. University lecturers can be particularly bad for this.

  17. Many repliers are implying that Mount Clair red wine is just a mixture of fruit juice, sugar? and .... don't know what else.

I know on the 5l box it says 'blended and bottled by ...'.

I want proof of what people claim the blended thingies are.... It does taste like wine to me, not some fruit juice.

Look, it even says on the box lable '... save every precious drop of your premium wine'.

See, no spelling errors, and 'premium wine'.

So..... where's the proof that it's full of chemicals and sugar and fruit juice?

Read the label. Somewhere it'll be marked as fruit wine or a fruit product of some kind.

So "real" wine isn't made from fruit?

Learn something everyday...I thought they used grapes to make some wines.
