  1. My wife is approached monthly with requests from local ladies to find them a falang. Some are dogs some are definitely not; the the cute ones tend to get fixed as soon as they go online; some of the desperate ones head off to Pats never to be heard of again.

Perhaps I should start a sideline business!

  2. Hi Peter, Welcome. I live in Surin/Buriram. Try joining the Surin Farang Forum. There is section on to do with Sisaket. In fact I am planning on visiting Sisaket in the near future. Perhaps we can meet up and have a drink. I come from across the ditch.

Let me know when your coming over here, Les. I must owe you a beer or 3. Franks place has a Facebook page called 'Livin in the past'. There is also a nice Thai/Farang restaurant called 'Pop in' that's good too!'

  3. Hmmn ... yes also got excited for a minute or two. Would love a 400cc version of the tu250x, but the side view looks decidedly russian.

Back in '78 my riding buddy had an sr500 ... It could be a real ankle breaking bitch to start at times. I think an electric leg on the sr400

    would be a good option.

Or both, like the RE Continental GT
  4. Peter, to work on a government school you need a degree in education. That should be your first hurdle ( I believe).

If I am wrong about your situation, I apologise.

Hi Dilligad, I just have a TEFL-certificate (which means: 3-months-teacher-training at a private language school), after that I taught at those language schools for 4 years, but never at government schools yet.

Some people told me there are teacher positions in Isaan for non-native English speakers just holding TEFL.

maybe that means: at Technology Colleges etc. , but not at government schools ?

    Unfortunately I don´t have Bachelor/Master/TOEIC.

Because I got a Thai wife from Sisaket Province (and a little daughter) I want to try to get a teaching job in that area.

I am 49, German and it seems to be impossible (too old) to strive for further degrees, right ?

Thank you very much in advance for your advice

Reply sent to mutual friend who will then forward it onto you.
  5. You seem to be getting more comments about your "style" of communication rather than actually getting raw data for research.

It may be worth considering changing your approach to get a better result or any result at all?

    Just an observation.

  6. Dunno what scooters you have been using but if it's the small ones maybe try one of the bigger ones forca or pcx, although I have never ridden one the pcx looks really comfortable for the longer journeys I imagine the pcx are ideal for a fun and relaxed ride that would be more about taking in the scenery than racing from bend to bend. ,failing that if you want to move up to a proper bike probably the cbr 250 or ninjas 250.

I'm looking to go up north to do a bit of riding myself in Dec/Jan and will be looking to hire a bike probably opt for versys

You will definitely not go wrong with the Versys. It has en extremely sitting position, almost upright. It this group ride at the end of the year takes off, I will probably be riding up on my Versys too.

The PCX is also very comfortable but lacking in the power department naturally, compared to the 650's. I once rode my PCX from Bkk to Yasothon (close to 600 km) and while it was comfy, it took a long time so I had it trucked back instead.

    His budget is 80,000b !!!!!
  7. Thanks for the review Jack. I think these bikes could be a lot of fun for cruising around and doing a few trips in comfort and style. I'm guessing the kick start will get easier as you get used to it and the engine beds down.

I agree because the initial designer had a gammy ankle and that's why they have the de-compression lever near the clutch lever, so I have read.

    Good luck
