If you don't live too far from the Immigration office, how about a neighbor or relative making the 90-day report run for you. No need for you to do it yourself.
If far, hire a local pickup truck guy to make the run for you, pay him baht 1,000 (cheaper than the baht 2,000 fine), 50% upfront, balance when you get back and have the report receipt in hand.

Mac sez: OK, but how about making a visit to Immigration before departure, ask if it's OK to do the report early, and if not, then ask if it'd be OK for his representative to provide a copy of his passport pages of interest and TM card when the report is due.

Kap Choeng Immigration will only accept a face to face 90 day report.

BANGKOK, Dec 26 – Economic cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia along their common borders will be upgraded to emphasise road and railway construction, and opening more checkpoints, according to the Thai foreign ministry.
The resolution was made during the 8th Thai-Cambodian Joint Commission, held in Bangkok on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and his Cambodian counterpart Hor Namhong attended the meeting.
Sihasak Puangketkaew, permanent secretary for foreign affairs, said among the essential issues discussed were the opening of permanent checkpoints at Ban Nong Eiang in Sa Kaeo province linking Stung Bot in Cambodia’s Banteay Meanchey province, development of Route 48 from Thailand’s Trat province to Cambodia’s Sihanoukville, and a railway extension from the Aranyaprathet checkpoint on Thailand’s eastern border into Cambodia.
The Thai and Cambodian representatives agreed to a land survey for border demarcation, joint suppression of human trafficking and illegal logging of Siamese rosewood on the border, he said.
An MoU will be signed agreeing a single visa under the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS).
ACMECS is a cooperation framework among Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam to join member countries’ diverse strengths and to promote balanced development in the sub-region.
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Surapong hosted a dinner function in honour of Mr Hor Namhong on Tuesday night.
The Thai-Cambodian Joint Commission which reconvenes after a two-year recess is a signal of an improved relationship between the two countries, the Thai foreign minister said. (MCOT online news)

FBI Background Check From Thailand - If you're already in Thailand, the easiest way to get a criminal background check is to appear at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters on Rama I Road in downtown Bangkok. They'll take your fingerprints at no charge. You can then send them to the FBI.

You might ask why burning is not done in Issan.
By the way, someone asked if there weren't some guidance on the benefits of plowing under straw (or collecting it). There is on the PCD web site. Not certain how many farmers might peruse that web site. Nor do people clearing forest land to crop it.
Burning is done in Issan.. Just not as much. As I speak I can look out and see a few fires..

New hangout for the E and meth heads, like others glad its snowhere near me. Does seem a big project with serious money behind it so should be free of the BIB.
The location is where the old Playhouse/Simon Cabaret used to be. As there is already another late night club in that area can't imagine the noise will get any worse. Since it's right next to Chiang Mai's most dodgy "entertainment" area you can bet the BIB will be heavily involved.
Apparently it's the people from the old Martini bar that are behind the project. Given how that story went down I wouldn't hold out big hopes for this......
And the location doesn't exactly have a track record of success.

CityNews - Dr. Surasingh Witsarutrat, the deputy head of Chiang Mai Public Health Office, recently issued a statement saying that the young woman who had died after eating at a moo kata restaurant had been infected by the bacteria Streptococcus Species Agalactiae, but after inspection a. team from the Chiang Mai Health Office could find no signs of the bacteria at the restaurant.
The office said the bacteria could have come from infected meat as the family insisted that the girl had no congenital disease.
The doctor added that the bacteria could be fatal to humans depending on where it spread. If it spread to the brain then often the person died. He said that there have been over 100 recorded cases of infections of this particular bacterium in the last few years. Currently three people are hospitalized with this infection and this year two people have died, including the girl, after being infected. In all cases it's thought that uncooked pork or other meat was to blame.

Mr. Singh Tp.dr. renowned Department of Health, vice Dr. Chiang said of the detected bacteria.Steph's Peter Cox Keystone species in Galaxy Theatre or Group B.. Streptococcus specie agalactiae. , and as far as checking meat from pig pan so after the scene already . 4 days did not have this bacteria. While checking animals, which is what the other consequences that would have been contaminated with this bacteria does. Of the initial spatially because of disease progression and death is already up. Because this bacteria can infect the urinary tract. And acquired from eating the meat may be contaminated from the start of the fermentation or animal kill or be killed, and be patient with this infection. Which must be carefully examined again. The basic question of the dead relatives that the patient does not have any diseases.
In case of death during the treatment of a doctor. This type of bacteria that is spread to parts of the body. If the patient progressed to brain death is easier. The patient information section of this pathogen in Thailand that. 3-4. past year found more than 100. cases. During this time, close to the patient . 3 business together. For eating raw pork to pan. And may lead to infection. Therefore need to be cooked before consumption before to be safe.
". although the cause of this patient died from infection stepping protocols for Custer's Galaxy Theatre or Group B to be stating the obvious that come from eating pork pan would be. difficult Because raw fish, pork, beef, chicken etc. into the store each day with a lot. And sold every day. Make it difficult to detect contamination of the sample material. The good is that consumers should be more careful. Shipping raw meat must be cooked. To sterilize. Another thing that is a concern. Using chopsticks is that individual consumers will fork over the chopsticks raw meat on a roasting pan. And the chopsticks to eat the same meat fork. This is considered very vulnerable to contamination from raw meat to enter the body more easily. ". Tp.dr. Mr. Singh said. .

Yes that was the price I paid last Jan aand is probably the same. A very ok place for the money and friendly staff and reliable security. Good for a not too fussy person who wants to be in a central location. A bit careworn inside but everything seems to work. Can reccommend.
Yes. It does bring back memories.

23 Year-Old Sudent Dies from Bacteria Poisoning - Uncooked Meat at Korean BBQ thought to be to Blame
Dec 7, 2012
Society
CityNews – A Masters Degree student studying at a university in Chiang Mai has died after eating at a Korean BBQ (moo kata) restaurant in Chiang Mai, reported the Chiang Mai public Health Office. The student, whose name has not yet been released, died after a two day ordeal in hospital.
A moo kata grill
Dr. Surasingh Witsarutrat, the deputy president of Chiang Mai Public Health Office, revealed that the girl’s relatives believed that she became sick after eating at a moo kata. The relatives said she was a strong and healthy girl.
The hospital revealed that bacteria, called Streptococcus, was to blame for the girl’s death. The bacteria, doctors say, had started to destroy parts of her brain and it was not possible to save her life.
Dr. Surasingh said it would be difficult to say where the bacteria that killed the girl came from, though it was likely it came from eating uncooked meat, possible at the moo kata restaurant. He warned people that they should always cook the meat well to ensure bacteria is killed. He also pointed out that many Thais use the same chopsticks to pick up the raw meat and then use those chopsticks for eating. He expressed that this should not be done as bacteria is carried this way.
