  1. Hi again,

I said NE because it's an international school and all teachers who have a work permit are NE speakers. They have decided not to get the school into trouble as it will apparently only be them who is screwed. For those that think the person in question is stupid I asure you they are not. Simply new to thailand and far to trusting in schools that pretend to be professional but underneath are crooks. Yes with regard to the visa they should have known better but the reason for this is because a previous employer did it all for them. I hope this fills in a few blanks

Stop listening to all the trolls on this post and listen to those actually helping you out of this mess.

Everywhere in the world, the visa is your responsability and yours only. If your friend was overstaying and he now feel guilty and stressed of being an illegal alien in Thailand, he has to take his responsabilities which may result in going to jail.

Now, taking his responsabilities in Thailand is quite simple as long as you have the money to pay the right person. So, you friend should be going to Nong Khai or another border, pay his fine with another 1000 BAHT to give the custom officer as an apology for what he did, if he's not being thrown to jail.

When he comes Back to Thailand, with a valid visa, he can start filling the papers by himself, if the school is cooperative for him to get a work permit. If the school doesn't want to supply him with the work permit, keep focusing on your visa so you can leave and come as much as you want and, of course, trying to find a better place to work legally.

Work permit is expensive for a school. Many foreigners live in Thailand and they can easily do your friend's job with a lower salary and without benefits. The schools know it and they won't hesitate to do it. Anyway, they all know a policeman somewhere who will protect them from being deported or shutted down.

Now, can you go legal about this? The answer is yes but I wouldn't dare to do it because it's gonna go against you. Your friend is a farang and they are Thais, as simple as that. Only Thais have rights in this country.

  2. There are no "legal or illegal" in Thailand. Everything is about money and the schools understand that. They know they can pay little money for the same teacher that they would pay for big money with a work permit.

Everything have a price and bribing the police is more affordable than a fully qualified teacher with insurances and other benefits.

On the other hand, there is nothing you can do even if you have a work permit and contract. Avoid going to court because not only are you going to lose but your going to lose the face as well. You are not a teacher in Thailand, you are a farang. Never forget that.

  3. The difference with my country and them is that people who can travel from my country aren't criminals while people from Thailand are mostly corrupted people or more attracted to crimes than others. That's why we need to check any Thai national who wants to come in.

Let's be honnest, Thailand need even more our money than we need them in our country. If they want to charge us fees, fine. I'll go to the Carribeans instead of Thailand next time, what will make them waste around a houndred of thousand baht per year.

  4. The world condamn Shinawatra's for not doing anything against crimes and corruption in their country. They also condamn Shinawatra's because they refuses to protect foreigners travelling or living up there, not being more than Targets for anyone in this country. Stop dreaming and get out of this country like your brother as you are not welcome there anymore.

  5. I tried the 3 main companies ( True, AIS and DTAC ) and all of them constantly disconnect frequently. None of them really offers the service they pretend to sell as half of the time, their service is slower than what you pay for. I have doubts they won't enforce it on a company like AIS as it was Taksin's property. DTAC had a penality of a few millions BAHT a year ago because of their service being down for a day. Even after, they kept crashing most of the time at the difference that they call you a liar if you dare to call them to tell them you don't have the service you pay for. At the end, what I found out is that every single communication company in Thailand is guilty of not delivering the service their customers are paying for.
