Well, this goes along with the *Mia Farang* ladies I guess!
There are actually 2 types of ladies in thailand. There are those issued from a poor family, who have been told all their life to get married with a farang to build a big house for the entire family, and those from rich families who doesn't really care about farangs.
The poor Thai ladies have been raised the same way. They have been told, since they are young, to go with a foreigner. This guy not only have white skin, he also have a lot of money in his pocket. They've been said money is love. This means that this man needs to build a house for the entire family, a car, give money to everybody who needs it until he run out of money. Once they runs out of money, they runs out of love as well so the Thai lady dispose of him, get what's left of the money and go back to the usual farang paradise (Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket) to get another one. These girls, that Thai calls Mia Farang, doesn't care about the age of the person, they DO care about the size of his pockets.
The Rich Thai lady has been raised all her life being said to get the rich man, Thai or farang. These families doesn't live in Pattaya or Phuket. These girls DO care about the age of the man they are going to get and they DO care about what he looks like. They knows that if they get the rich farang 20 years old over her age, people are going to look at her like a Mia Farang, an insult for most of the Thai ladies. These girls might be quite challenging to get as they have a totally different point of view than the poor Thai girls and they know they can get the rich Thai man who is, let's be honnest, A WAY richer than us.

It is totally impossible to make it work between a foreigner and a Thai lady if the age difference is over 10 years. The fact is that she doesn't know what is love. In reality, the only thing she loves is your wallet. If you are lucky enough to get a Thai lady from a rich family, educated and with a good job, fine. She loves you for the right things and you may have a wonderful life with her. -
I've been reading an article in the Washington post about racism all around the world. Of course, I write this new topic as Thailand is light red on the map, what means there are between 20% and 30% of the population being racist. Quite surprising considering the fact that they want so much people to travel to the land of smiles.

I am a member at Makro and it is very simple to get the card.
The first step is to buy for more than 2500 baht. Once you did that, show your receipt at the customer service counter along with a valid Thai ID (yellow book, driver license). You shall receive your member card within 2 weeks.

Yes, and if you use it you will end up in a Thai jail for a long time, even if it was self defence. Just keep yourself to yourself, mind your own business, and be courteous to everyone, and 99% of the time you should have no problem.Good luck for the tuk-tuk driver who wants to best me. I do am courteous with everybody, even speaking with them in Thai. I don't start the conversation telling them I am armed. However, I prefere to be able to defend myself in case of problems and take a chance facing a judge instead of ending up in a body bag on my way back home for cremation. This country is full of crazy people ready to kill us for a few baht.

Well we are playing in there back yard but it happens all over the world not just here.
But on another note would somebody who knows enlighten us if you are legally married in Thai with children own a house( in her name of course).
2 scenarios what is the law if.
1. Got divorced
2. Our they died.
What about the people who brought a house through a company there is no guarantee that the company will last for ever is there.
Do we have any rights in this place.
Basically, the only right you have is if she sells the house, she need your signature. On the other hand, what she is going to do is leave the house alone, install her family in the house or rent it getting the profit. Of course, this is about legality. When corruption gets in, many things can happen without your consent.

DSI is the intelligence agency of Thailand and they only strategy they think about when it comes to illegal workers in this country is to open a facebook page and send the photos of those working without a work permit. A 5 years old child playing detective games would have taught about such a weak and stupid strategy.
Dear DSI, it is not written in the foreigner's faces that they are working illegally in your country. You want to make a change, do your job. Find the foreigners potentially working illegally in this country, investigate and put them in custody, as simple as that.
Reading this article confirm one thing, those working in the intelligence agency in Phuket are newbies trying to impress low IQ citizen saying they do something BIG when in reality, it's nothing more than a child game. Besides, opening this facebook page will show people you are working a little bit at least.

Folks, sorry to tell you that but it is absolutely impossible for 1 baht to become 1 USD. Some uses the 30฿ bowl soup and think it is going to cost 30$. Also, someone having a salary of 70000 baht per months is going to earn 70000$ per months? It doesn't make sense right?
When the baht goes high, it is because the economy is good. Once the Thai baht is going to be high enough, many foreign investors are going to pack and go away. Now, the question is: when is going to he the breaking point?
In reality, the breaking point may be earlier than we think. I don't think Thailand has the ressources, the labor quality and the knowledge to worth more than 35 baht per USD. I believe at that point, tourists are going to visit some other places, retired are going to live somewhere else, businesses are going to go somewhere else, the baht is going to fall and so we start again.
The worry at the moment is about the retired. Of course, a high baht currency means less money in your pocket. On the other hand, many foreign workers and Thais in general have benefits from a high Thai currency, as long as we don't reach the breaking point.

yes, this is the reason.
they don't want people to wear swimsuits which could also be worn as normal streetwear, to avoid that various bum types wear those all day long and then come swim with their smelly shorts.
It is also forbidden at public pools in my homecountry because dirty people swim with dirty shorts instead of having real swimming suits as yours.
It could be the reason here also ?
That make sense if it is really their intention.

The Zoo is ok. Not many animals but we are living in quite a small market. For the water park, I should admit it is a great place to be for the kids and even us the parents if we remove the fact that they harrass us to wear their second hand speedos...apart from the dress code, how was the waterpark & zoo?
I will probably try one more time with my boardshorts if They accept and if they harrass me again, will go to another swimming pool. I guess I have to do that for my kids as they really had a good time over there
let us know how you get on cos i'd take my kids up for the day too - but NOT if i am made to wear gross second-hand speedo swimming pants!

I haven't made a case at the start because it can be possible that they mistaken my swimming suit to a regular pair of shorts but even after showing them the white net, they kept saying that I had to change my swimming suit. As I could read here, it seems like it is common for many foreigners and all around the world that these things happens. It is quite strange...
How can we know if our swimming suit is allowed or not?
