  1. All very interesting!

    I have a few questions:

In our garden we have at least four "wild" bee hives. They are absolute not aggressive. Is it possible to let them move to a self made hive? Or, if you place a bee hive with an population in it will this cause problems about territory or something?

    Regards, Arjen.

I would at least try to rehome the wild ones to your hives. Easier to monitor and get. Tons of youtube videos on how to take them down and put them into your boxes.

I'm certainly not an expert but the wild bees we had in the roof for years (I left them alone and they left me alone) never produced much honey. There are different species of bees of course.

Yes this is true...if you don't care if the bees come or go and you aren't interested in honey, leave them alone. If I had a big enough place, I would rather capture and rehome wild bees from the local area, rather than get some shipped. If your bees have been there for years, I bet their hive is much larger than you think in your roof.

  3. Hey guys! I'm looking for "Bee research" or "apiary" places around Bangkok. A place that sells the bee hives and bees. I know they are usually connected to Universities, but I am having a hard time finding them. Only returns in English are the touristy bee places in Chiang Mai and Pattaya.

Any help in written Thai so Ms. Firemedic can look it up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  4. I started another thread as well....it has no replies. I'd like to do it as a hobby more than for profit. I've been reading and watching videos for weeks about beekeeping, but here in BKK it is very difficult to find help with it.

  5. Attention all expats: Please DO NOT go to a local clinic for chest pain. Chest pains/MIs/heart attacks all need to be treated at a real hospital with a working Cath Lab. If you don't immediately collapse from an sudden cardiac arrest, every minute you delay is a better chance of dying. If you have an onset of chest pain, stay calm, take 2 - 4 baby aspirin, and get to a good hospital with a working cath lab. If the cathlab is not manned 24 hours a day, don't go there. The time it takes to set up a lab and team is critical time you may not have.

P.S. A defib could have worked if he had a fatal arrhythmia, most of which kill you long before you get yourself to a doctor. If he had ongoing chest pain prior, it was a clot and ONLY a cath lab can fix that.

  6. I also have a Blackvue. It is great for front and back recording as well as voice recording. When I am stopped, I already have my license and paperwork in hand and ready. In the other hand, I have my phone in an obviously recording manner. I would tell him I'm doing so for his safety and mine. I also speak very clearly and respectfully, saying Yes Sir/ No Sir. As of yet, I have only been waved through. No fines, no searches, no BS. I do completely understand this can change the very next time I go through a checkpoint, but this has worked so far...more than a dozen time.

  7. I do this all the time. I notice more and more wanna be mafiosos waving you into waiting taxis. Of course, I NEVER use a waiting taxi anywhere. I kindly refuse walk pass the loudmouth, and hail a passing one....much to the dismay of the loudmouth (Where you go? Where you go? Come this taxi...come this taxi)
