You've been here 20 years and don't know about TM30?
I did not say that did I!
So you telling me that if people move around and the address of their original stay has changed they have to approach the resort and ask them to go online & fill out a bunch or <deleted>. We have taken numerous people to get a tourist visa extension and never had this problem before.

I have never heard that tourists need an online application from the resort. This is going to make chaos.

We just took some friends to Trang immigration to extend their tourist visas, something that has never been an issue in the past. They are refusing them until they get written conformation from the resort they are staying at. Their holiday has just been ruined by a miserable woman that just wants to create problems. I have NEVER heard such BS in the 20 years I have lived here.
Is this the way it is now? Tourists wanting extensions have to provide written paperwork from the resort they are staying at? Way to go immigration!
Now they have to leave. Those 2 weeks extra would see money back into the Thai economy and all they do is make it difficult.
Anyone else know about this?
update. They told them the resort has to apply for them online. No words on this one. They want people back and they do stupid S""t like this. Luckily we know the resort owners and are now trying to work out how to do this online. What a joke. get the press involved and make them look like the idiots they are!

I use a Bangkok-based 'expat' broker and he put me on to WRLife, as he's done with a lot of his clients. According to him, a number of claims have successfully been made. You pay your money and make your choice!
Thank you for this.

WR Life is an insurance broker. At least according to their own website.
What isn't clear is the identity of the insurance company that WR Life places its clients' business with. I've commented at length on this issue on other threads. This, and the financial status of that insurer, would be the first thing I would ask WR Life to disclose if I were obtaining a quote from them.
thank you sir

That certainly describes an interesting approach to insurance. I think this is the first time I've seen an insurance broker issue "shares" to its clients.
I would still wish to see details of the insurance company that actually bears the risk of loss under the policies that WR Life issues to its clients.
interesting.

I reckon your gut feeling is right on that, i feel the same, money better spent elsewhere
ahh you know my gut really is gurgling on this one. Its just a too important thing to go wrong when you need it.

By the way, Bumrungrad does not accept WR for direct billing. I did find out, it being my hospital of choice.
again thanks you for this buddy!
They say if its too goo to be true it usually is. There is just nothing about them. Could all be a huge scam. So many people especially older people signing up.
I did sign up and I got my insurance document through within 5 mins. I had not even paid. In fact thats why I chose to not go through with it. It was just a bit all to convenient. Is it a mass grab and vanish? There is just no info. Other than same bad ones on Google.- 1

They're related to the Thonburi Group. Their experience with insurance is via Assist International (also mostly owned by the Thonburi Group), which assist other insurance companies as an interface with Thai hospitals and are seemingly majority owned by the same people. Registered in England, yes, Thai ownership.
Thank you sir.

The amount of insurance cover is relevent to premium... I have 4000 Dollar cover For £396 For 3 months I'm 65 without any illness.. so best I could find.. as for if they honour claims don't know. As it seems they are quite new.. they do have a Facebook site just search wrlife on Facebook search..
yeah thats just it. its a uk company and even they are the broker. Bad reviews on Google, but that could be spam. there are only 6 or 7 reviews. All bad. Facebook page started recently. Just nothing about them good so far that ive seen.

So an apparent 100% success rate! You can be sure that if they were denying claims social media would have made it very clear as it has done with positive results! It makes no sense assuming that they will be making claims difficult.
Very good point also, where do you see a 100% success rate btw?

i reckon Pacific Cross would be a better bet for cheaper premiums
The wife is with them. I may follow. Thing is I need monthly payments and they dont do them. Only 4 and 6 months.

I took out a policy with them earlier in the year, monthly premiums, but after several disconcerting emails from them, I quit.
No real information available. Only one person on here said they had made a successful claim, but no unsuccessful ones admitted to.
Sheryl's the expert on this type of thing.
Thanks for the reply. So on the fence with this. Its the one thing you cant have go wrong if you need it.

so WrLife are promoting heavily again. They are cheap, offer a pretty reasonable policy, but still nothing about them, or if the mass of people signing up are getting their claims.
I've spent 3 days already looking for insurance. Prob is I need monthly payments. WrLife is good, but what's the latest feedback??
Thanks peepz

So what about the teachers? My wife works at an international school, has not great lungs from a previous stink on a ventolator, has high blood pressure and lives on an asthma pump. And you winge about your kids needing to be in school. Teachers lives are more important than you kids in school. There is no testing for teachers. All you people moaning about it need to man up like the rest of the world. Maybe think about the teachers lives rather than yourselves and your kids.
Teach them at home and stop bitching. The rest of the world has to do it!

Does this include fishing with a rod or pole?

The local kids here today in Songkhla were flying kites in a storm. Just no education in danger whatsoever.

Wife and I have UK licences which expired a few years ago. Would this still be accepted when applying for a Thai licence? or should we try renew in the UK somehow and then apply?
Cheers

Tourist visa extension now requires the applicants to provide written conformation from the resort they are staying at!

they had their tm30. Now the resort owner is online trying to submit the info they want. This has never happened before and is NOT normal
